Not sure if these are compatible with the 9000 series processors. I stumbled upon this video, and hoped to upgrade my i3-8100t > i7-9700t. It failed to turn on (quick flash of the orange light and then nothing). Found some thread online and apparently these(or maybe some) didn't ship with the microcodes required for the 9th gen processors (906EC 906ED). I dumped the BIOS, added the codes, flashed the BIOS and dumped again to find the microcodes present. STILL didn't boot when I installed the 9700t, so YMMV when trying to upgrade to a 9th gen processor.
yes u could be getting them ryzen mini pcs but the inside is much more integrated, the cpu is soldered and whatnot if anything is broken, the whole system is possibly broken and with a dell optiplex, u just know it is gonna be a hell lot higher quality than those chinese mini pcs
Got one for 70 bucks, but needed ram, ssd and a power cable, I spend about 100 on this missing items and I couldn’t be happier, now it has a 32GB ram capacity, 1TB nvme ssd from Samsung, and a brand new power supply
@@TechGuyBeau yessir! I use it mostly for work, they gave us Dell 3080 micro pcs but they had all kinds of restrictions due to company policy… so I decided to get my own. And even tho is a 3060 I feel like it outperforms that 3080 in many ways!
These Dell models are technically USFF (ultra small form factor) devices. The SFF models are intermediate size, having more USB ports, provision for an optical drive, two half-height PCIe slots and room for a second internal HDD and a second stick of DRAM. But if you don't require the expandability, the USFF machines are an excellent value for the price, as well as being extremely quiet in operation.
It has until UHD graphics. You’re going to be playing modern 2022 or newer games by any means. Realistically if you want to play AAA titles you’re looking at 2016 or earlier probably. However less graphically intensive stuff will run very well
@@TechGuyBeau thanks for the quick reply. I have several computers and mini laptops mostly think pads. Thanks for the video
bro is missing a whole gpu get an external gpu bruh u will need an m2 to pcie adapter and a psu, at least cheaper than buying a whole system, make sure u have an empty m2 slot though the setup might be a bit ugly but it works
@@beau-urns of course it is enough, not at max graphics, but there are like 999999 games on roblox, all of them have different requirements btw that recommendation is bad, u straight up told bro to buy a new pc even the igpu in ryzen 6000 and 7000 series is not much better than the uhd 630 lol just get a god damn dgpu

thanks i was so close to try change a 8700 for a 9700
Damn. Thats a steal. I'm rocking a i7-6700T. Using it for batocera emulation. Would love a 8700t
Thankfully found an optiplex 7060 with an i7-8700t for $140 last week on OfferUp 🙏🏽
This looks awesome! That’s a steal of a deal and I’m glad to see the upgrades, makes me wonder if I should do this for a side project
what was the ambient temp when you were doing temp test?

can you add external gpu?
Hello, Thanks for your video. I just acquired a 3060 thanks to you. But I read that normally for an M2 it is 512 maxi or I was wrong?
You can go at least 2tb. I got a 2tb to work without any issues
You can unlock pcie 3.0 for ssd if you google it

This generation (3060, 7060...) is called a micro setup by Dell, they no longer use the USFF name apparently.
I wonder if you can get a gpu upgrade? Or would that implicate on getting a new motherboard?
The gpu is part of the cpu. So no it can’t be upgraded
I use these for Servers in an A/C in closed space. Works amazing!
What is max ram possible?
Can this do video mixing without lagging’s
what kind of gpu does this have? I have a 7040 and plays older gems just fine, but games like FFXIV - 2fps if IM lucky. GTA????

I just got one for free and I’m wondering what kind of speed you got with the nvme ssd? Thanks
It had a sata
6:21 I’m asking about the nvme you have installed there. Thanks
now try adding an egpu
Gonna buy this for you some retro pc gaming, grab a DVD caddy - nice 🔥
Got one for free, couldnt be happier with it !!
Does support wii -switch-ps3
Switch and ps3 would be kinda rough. Just due to the weaker iGPU
Did I skip the part that shows how he emulated?
Yes you did. It’s like 1/3rd of the video :)
i7 8700T and 16GB for that price is a great deal indeed I have spent quite more for a 6th gen i5 cpu and just 8GB
i got a 3090 for $25 yesterday best deal ever!
in my country this was 100+ bucks. and yep i like dell they have fan setup that are way easy to clean.
It’s really good value
This tiny pc can play AAA games?! No way!
Does it play PS2?
Oops I missed this. I’ll load up some games and gets it for you.
Sorry for the slow reply.
Yes it runs ps2 perfectly. I just played ace combat for a few hours at 60fps.
Hi, can this run minecraft?
No, you need a 128gb ram, 16tb ssd and 4080 gx GPU to play minecraft...
@@suhtangwong nah u also need two epyc 9754
Is it i5 10th gen processor compatible?
No, but interestingly I just picked up a Lenovo mini pc for the same price that has a 10400t.
lol 8 gen and 10 gen completely different socket bruh
its a mini pc gamer, i have one to, ist grate
I got mine $25 in my college
Explaine ports
I just picked one of these machines up from auction. What is the maximum RAM that I can put in this machine, I'm looking to put 32 GB of RAM into it.
Definitely 32. Not sure above that
32gb is like the minimum maximum for any motherboard and cpu nowadays
any lower and that shit probably older than queen elizabeth
You can use ddr4 64gb ram
I have it i5 10th gen but it doesn't on😂
m2 ssd connector you will use a greasy new one....UHHHHHHH
i have a singular 16 gb ram, i5 9500T and a nvme drive with a 1 tb ssd but i dont know why my pc cant even run roblox with max graphics?
The integrated graphics are not remotely enough for that game. You would need to go with an AMD 6000 or 7000 series
