I would of liked to hear from Thomas more . Susan RAN her MOUTH - CONSTANTLY . WOW , how disrespectful to not let Thomas get a word in edge wise .

Sorry you feel that way, Mary, but that complaint should be directed toward us, not Susan. We set the tour and interview up with Susan and had a mic on her but did not have a mic on Thomas. After the taping, we do the editing and determine what goes in and what gets cut. We tend to take out silent gaps, inaudible dialogue and unrelated conversation so we can keep the video subject matter moving and on topic. We are always learning along the way on how we can make our videos better so the feedback is helpful. Thanks for watching!

This is NOT perfect. You've given them shelter, water and pellets (ground up heat treated wheat and corn). They are bored and malnourished. Chickens are jungle fowl who need to spend their days foraging the forest floor looking for insects, small animals and greens. If you're going to leave the poor things in a dirt cage then at least recreate some jungle floor by providing them with big boxes of mulch, compost and leaf litter. Provide them with constant greens by building fodder boxes with wire on top so they can't scratch it up but can eat the green tips (e.g. kale, millet, wheat, sunflowers). Sprout seeds so they have living greens. Breed mealworms that you can scatter amongst the leaf litter. They need a dirt bathing area for cleaning and cooling down. Living in a hot climate they'd appreciate some low tubs of water to stand in and cool down. Imagine how they'd live in nature and work on that.

@@joyadams507 Hi joy, I don't use social media (other than watching TH-cams). Take a look at "Edible Acres" TH-cam channel chicken videos. Their set up is what I aspire to. I have a long way to go yet!

@@SamStone1964 well since you took upon yourself to have an opinion about this lady’s set I figured you had the perfect example……

@@joyadams507 Edible Acres is the best set up I've seen. Loads of mulch and compost piles; food scraps from local restaurants; they barter for whole grain seconds which they soak and sprout; edible fences; greenhouse especially for winter warmth. They've recently opened up another area to allow them to forage for more greens. Definitely worth taking a look.
