I am from Northern Ontario, Canada, and live in an area where off-grinding is easy because I have lots of land to build on and experiment with different buildings and materials. Everything I do is to try to be more self reliant, and to depend less on others. But that doesn't mean I don't like working together with other people on projects. Knowing people who have skills is part of being self reliant, and trading skills is a great way to get more things done!

Twenty or thirty years ago, The Gap sold pencils made from recycled scrap denim. I think I've still got a few laying around somewhere but I don't think they've been made in ages.

You need to put a vent in like a fantastic fan, especially when you’re cooking and you won’t have to use your air condition so much
Next time the nettles get you, look for a Dock Leaf Weed (they're often in the same immediate area. Just rub the dock leaf where the nettle got you. You can make soup from nettles and in the UK we have a cheese called Cornish Yarg which is wrapped in nettles 🙏❤️🇬🇧
Was recently at a museum and they mentioned this. Also said that the nettles actually inject a chemical into the skin. Showed it close up. Ugh! Then a video of someone purposely swishing their bare arm through the nettles and showing the welts come up. (Museum was in Amsterdam).

helpful hint.....when you inadvertently get into stinging nettles or poison ivy.......look for some jewelweed; usually nearby......crush the jewelweed stems and make a poultice; raw or cooked and apply to affected areas; relieves itching.....................................ps.. love your camper

Kevin that camper is awesome like everything else you build I want one so bad. I love magnet fishing I have actually hooked onto a fishing pole that was hooked to a catfish, a few knives and a gun it's a whole bunch of junk. Rubber gloves are the best, one of those blue wagons that are foldable those are almost two specially when you get a lot of big stuff along with the bucket.

Would trust the rubber gasket alone, put some silicone sealant around the hole. I would also make sure the foam is covered by a waterproof membrane.

Good video Kevin! Great upgrades on the camper man, really good! It was funny that when you put the escape window in it was thundering, just thought that was cool for the moment! Good job on the AC. I'm sure that the smoke smell was nasty, but I can't stand that either! Great job on the screen door very cool. The solar panel is a good upgrade as is the heaters. Hey Kevin! If you want the stinging nettles to stop rub down with vinegar got into em when I was a kid down here in Georgia and an old nurse taught me that trick and it's the only thing that works lol love the video
If you get in the nettles put wet mud on it and let the mud dry, then wipe or wash off.

I used to get into stinging nettle all the time when I was a kid. My Mom told me to rub rubbing alcohol on it and it seemed to work really well. Carry some rubbing alcohol and try it you may need it for something else anyway.

that's a very big AC unit for that tiny space and a small heater... your camper is made for further South in a warmer climate, not for Canada... ask if you can reduce the power on the AC unit somehow, and install a better heater for winter, and it's perfect for solo adventures...
