Cool. Maybe I'll actually try shadow raids. I tried it when they first came out (3*) and blew through my gems and didn't beat it. Maybe I can try it again.

If you received a pic from Stephen of a solo Raikou then yes that would be me! I did it in sunny using mostly Primal Groudon, two shadow Groudon and a bit of Therian Landorus. You need to try it next!!

When doing this trick after using the first 5 gems do I leave then rejoin straight away to get the next 5 gems to become available or am I able to heal my pokemon before I rejoin ?

Mannn I’m sick that shadow raids are solo… literally just found out about the extended range for playmaking in normal raids (campfire app, I know I’m late…)
But I saw that raikou and got so excited… walked over to host one for some peeps since I was out of remote raid passes…
Open up campfire, click host… aaaand it’s gone.
Thought it might have been glitched, tried some troubleshooting for a min… then just… 💔

I used this strat accidentally 2 weeks ago and beat it with one sec I couldn’t believe I did and it was trash and got tossed immediatly didn’t realize we couldn’t solo it without that strategy and I def didn’t know when I joined my raid with 5 min left

Shadow marowak can be killed solo and 0 gems used easly.

While this is useful, shadow marowak can be duo’d without using any gems. My wife and I do these with no problem. No dodging, just face tanking. I’m lvl 47 and she is lvl 41. I think I have two Groupons that are over lvl 40 as well as two shadows at 40 exactly. So, not exactly a world-beater lvl team. Hers are not even close to that. You will obviously lose some pokemon, but revives and potions are much easier to come by than gems. We have never had to even relobby.
