it comes out my friend, its basically slotted in you just have to use a flathead on specific indents on the cover and it pops out (look in manual for dowels)
I can tell you that is sub great for what I payed, plug n play... one rca jack no extra wires to hook up, the build in amp push that 8' driver like nobody business......Yamaha real deal......
i've abused it enough by now, ive inverted it twice and put it in my car and back and its really struggling now, I can say it has served and still serving me well
I had this subwoofer, but i replaced it with a Sealed 8" 150Wrms subwoofer, i mean. It had pretty good output on high notes but low notes, nah.. it distorted way to easy and didn't sound nice. My new subwoofer plays deeper 25ish Hertz, much more accurate sound and hella excursion :D
Music does not go down to 25hz.. A subwoofer with a vented port is uncontrolled under the tuned frequency.. To what are you listening that uses so such low frequencies?
The normal music i listen to goes down to about 30 - 40 hz, sometimes i listen to decaf which is a slowed down version of the original etc... and i watch movies a lot so it's nice to have a subwoofer that's tight and sounds accurate even tho ported is apparently better for movies.
I sold that subwoofer a couple months ago, yeee. it's very boomy! but it's alright for it's price point. ready to see some car audio subs going mad! ;)

How did you remove the grill
Get a flat head screw driver and just pry it open (I was trying to figure that out for like an hour lmao)

Is it god for the movies

As I note in the description, it's extremely boomy, I am planning to build a car audio system with car audio grade subs so stay tuned. :p

I've searched everywhere and tried to find the tuned port frequency, only thing i find is the frequency respond. i bet it's around 40 - 50 Hz

actually its just the sub playing on its own, this sub has no native low pass filter and this is a reasonable volume to play the song at..
