I don't think so, if you want to make a weapon, modifying an airsoft gun is not the best or easiest option. There are deeper reasons why airsoft guns are banned in Australia.

The strength of the material is not enough, so it can only be upgraded slightly.
To be honest I would say that it would be strong enough to hand live .22 rounds as it is. It’s not the worlds most powerful caliber is it now

but as a "last resort" weapon, this is a hella lot cheaper than a real gun, just make sure the paper works filled out and there will be no issues
