    Ben sir 教到有啲位一就知道係啲人針住嚟拗嘅位嚟😂 好鍾意你啲片 雖然我自己講同教偏美式 但係你教學真係畀唔少靈感我去幫助香港學生 2024要繼續!
    求加強版course vs hot 裡面兩個母音嘅差別

    請教Ben sir:
    School 應該是 s goo 還是 s cool?
    結尾的L 要否發 O 音?如 s-cool-O?
    另外Library 的中間請問讀bra 還是ber? 些些!🙏🏾😎👍
    您能從意大利文及國語等解釋,真的比較好理解😄💃🏼🕺🏻🙏🏾

      1. It's more like g then c, and it's better to stick with the /l/ at the end.
      2. More like 'bra'. Usually, 'library' has two syllables instead of three.
      Thanks for your very kind words, 169abe :)

      真謝謝您細心的解惑。
      另外透過看您的影片,我才明白為什麼有些台灣人把字母X讀成egg-ker- 時而不是eggs, 其實一切在當時是有原因的。🙏🏾👍
      說真的,您把英文變得很有趣,我還記得小時候老師根本不會教我們sPeak, sWord, rHino,asTHma, iSland n solDi-er 等發音,回想半個世紀前,能夠有一位好老師是何等幸福!

    ben sir,
    美國電影院中提到:你能夠的,你做得到的,就會讀u ‘Kan!
    我分不清楚到底是u ‘Can 還是u can’t。其他人會有這個問題的嗎?
    另外,什麼時候字尾要簡略?什麼時候字尾要連同下一個字一起讀?是文化習慣還是有規則的?例如:
    nighT light 還是讀nigh- llight?
    not at all要讀:
    noT aT all
    nog tat tall
    nog E All ???
    等組合??? 真係一頭霧水
    小時候讀文章時,每一個字的尾音都發出來,斷斷續續好鬼唔順暢,如
    buTi wanT to talK abouT …
    些些指導

    It’s very helpful. Just a quick question, I’m fully aware of the “ts” cluster like “tents”, how about “ds” like “odds”, “spends”? Wondering if it sounds the same as “ts”

    • @SimplyVoiceEnglish
      @SimplyVoiceEnglish  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      'ds' can go through a complete/partial devoicing unless it's before a voiced sound, which can make it sounds like 'ts'. Hope this helps.

      Yes, and you can also see it in the description 😀. If your target speech is a rhotic one like General American, feel free to keep the /r/

    其實我遇過好多常讀錯的字,有幾個我想分享一下😁
    我唔敢講係錯,不過LED我會連音咁讀e li di,好似唱英文字母歌lmn都係 e lem en
    extra 同hospital同類,不過自己唔察覺,一直都t音咗
    ascertain 係我最近先知道讀錯,一直as certain🙈原來/æsəˈteɪn/
    revealing 我覺得係一個幾難讀得好的字,一來r同v一齊,二來中間個l 應該係痴住 ing去讀,類似feeling
    以下係我真正想問
    period, durian等等的字,中間突然有個ə,我反而覺得要讀埋好難,所以我通常飛咗佢,請問應該點樣掌握? thank you

    • @SimplyVoiceEnglish
      @SimplyVoiceEnglish  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's entirely up to a speaker whether to 'link' those bits or not but if one never link them I'd say it's not usually what natives do.
      t can be elided in certain conditions, especially when sandwiched between 2 consonants.
      Good observation, and it has sth to do with light/dark l as well. Check out my other videos on the topic.
      'period' is a rather frequent word so it's not uncommon to hear a pronunciation without the ə, and one syllable is deleted (which is termed 'compression' by some), whereas it's less common for the same to happen in 'durian' due to its much lower frequency. Frequency does play a big part in phonetic changes 😀

      @9810johnny ปีที่แล้ว

      唔該Ben Sir,我有睇light/dark l嗰集,非常詳盡👍不過好難掌握dark l,我諗我只讀到7成,希望有😂 然後ə的問題,後來我諗到area,應該都係常用字,所以有可能會略去ə,明白😉獲益良多
