@zerker12568901 The rust gas was meant to destroy everything organic, plants, animals and people, everything except Karras who would go on making more of the "builders children" and create the Builders Paradise.
Got to love how at first in the very first ending, Garrett wanted nothing more to do with the Keepers and wanted to live life without them and acting out as a hero. But then after all the events that happened here he learns that he can't run from life as Artemis previously said. Despite trying to avoid Keepers he ends up with them again. Now he wants to know what will happen next as he knows what's coming is something he can't run from, so he may as well prepare for it.
+kestorz - Completely agree: Karras' voice may be seen by some of the more narrow-minded as comical and worthy of mockery, but not only does your point that it contributes to his character, as it is a clear biological imperfection that would fuel his ideals of a mechanised perfection, purged from the taint of biological life, stand but it also makes his character even more scary because, in spite of this voice, he has called together a cult of fanatics bigger than the Order of the Hammer who are both capable and willing to destroy the entire world. People mocked, and still do mock, Hitler's voice - but that bastard united all of central Europe under his rule and engineered the systematic slaughter of 6 million people. The measure of the voice is not the measure of the man - and quite frankly the cascade of gravel-voiced villains is getting tiresome.
+Demonflesh spawn Well said! It is the charisma and ideals that get you followers. No matter your morals or views. I really like Karras as a villain. As perfect as he saw the Children, he could not realize one simple mistake that the less perfect humans are capable of much more logical thoughts. The Sabotage at Soulforge objective, "Do not let Karras know what you are up to", whether a bug or not as you cannot fail that, ties to this. In the end, his perfect children could not even process their own thinking, being mindless machines. They could not realize Garrett is building a beacon, they could not realize he is going to redirect the Servants. Had Karras surrounded himself with humans, maybe they would notice what is up. Karras himself abandoned rational thoughts of his and relied on the machines. Hence you cannot fail the objective, maybe. He would never know what is up. Funny how his speech and teachings change from wrong to contradicting to outright hypocritical.
As a child, Karras emerged as an unexpected hero in my life. His character, undeniably queer-coded, embodies the essence of the outcast-someone who holds radical beliefs in a world that often shuns him. With remarkable courage and unwavering determination, he captivated many with his vision of bringing peace for the Builder. As someone who has navigated the challenges of a nasally voice-having spent years in speech therapy-and who identifies as a queer person with ADHD, I found a profound connection to Karras. His radical ideals resonate with my own yearning for change in a world that can often feel isolating (and, of course, non-violent in my approach). Playing through the Thief saga has bestowed upon me cherished memories, and Karras has been instrumental in my journey of self-acceptance. In many ways, I feel blessed by the Builder, just as he does, as I continue to forge my own path in a world that celebrates individuality. Or who knows, I’m just a loony Thief geek. P.S. anyone know where I can get a badass replica of Karras’ helmet?!?
Droopy Dog is one heck of a religio-nut. My fan theory about his voice is he was once a Hammeriate who took a vow of silence. This made his voice atrophy terribly and made his quite mad.
As much as I love this game's plot, setting, atmosphere and pretty much everything about it, I could never take this guy as a villain when I kept hearing Droopy talking.
@kestorz All will be swept away with the breath of the builder. The Rich that spuurrrned me! The city watch who BETRAYED ME! THE LOATHSOME PAGANS, THE MINDLESS COMMONARRES! Even the loyal followers! All will receive the blessing......and the cleansing.... But will they lift up their arms and praise Karras as the vapors make them pure? NAAAAAAAY, THEY WILL WAIL AND SCREAM MOST UNGRATEFUL!!!
Originally I thought that was Karras in the greenhouse with nervous system hanging from the rack. I preferred to imagine the children had Robocop-esque remnants of humans inside them, but I think I was just mistaken.
one of the coolest games ever. oh boys the good old times back then... all you get today is some crappy games for whiny console playing n00bs. t3 wasn't that good and thinking about upcoming t4 makes it all worse. just rust gas them casuals.
😢 it's a shame we never got a remastered version of this masterpiece
BUILDER, FORGER, FATHER, FUEL US NOW

11 million people, jews weren't the only undesirable people during his reign
Let this man cook
I know Karras is 100% evil, but damn, his speech impediment is so damn cute.

Yeeees, piece of art. One of my best games, and endings.

Narrator: "It wasn't"
Классно собор Карраса взлетел на воздух! :)))
It is indeed one of the best games ever created in the world but there is an other game created by the same group. It is called system shock2
I have never played the first 2 because back then I didn't own a pc or laptop but would most assuredly jump onto them at the first opportunity.
don't get them from steam the cutscenes dont work except for thief 3
@@Altair2000does Tfix restore them? When I bought them off steam it wouldn't launch until I installed Tfix and afterwards I got cutscenes...

Karras is Truman Capote
In the German version Karras has a clear charismatic voice...
@pyramidhead138 It would actually, he is an extremely talented voice actor.
@TheGoldenKing20 would it suprise u that garret and karras are voiced by the same guy?

Its same story , i think you didnt get thief3
Is that a middle game's cut-scene or an altyernate game ending? And I wonder woh Thief 4's opening and ending movies will look like.
Hoo boy, Thief 4 doesn't even come close to cutting that mustard
@@unranged6328 You have a point
granted it was only 12 years ago that he asked@@unranged6328
His voice is just silly.
