    Great lesson! IMO odd note-groupings and the rhytmic manipulation stand out the most in this riff, keeps it fresh.

    I bought the same iron label 7 string about 6 years ago and just so happened to quit playing music by the time I got it. I am finally getting around to playing it and I am not mad that I got it! I kept it in a nice case and clean all this time. I love the guitar

    I saw them 4 weeks ago live in Mexico City and this guy is freaking amazing, he plays awesome and had some "kinda-dancing moves" that keeps you entertained while watching them. All of them are really great, Monuments is such an underrated band.

    Monuments have pretty underrated guitarists and while I love the band, it doesn't show their true potential. At least I think so. Will see how Phronesis turns out. Super cool video!

    any tips on getting that amount of power and tonality from clean tapping riffs? i always find myself hitting my tubescreamer to help get the notes out. Do I just have pussy hands?

      Monuments usually tune in 7-string drop A#.

      The lowest string is an Ab, and he plays fifth power chords by barring one finger over the low strings, so i would assume it is regular drop Ab.

    Can anyone describe the sound he is getting? It’s such a nice slappy yet a bit dirty but also clean. Seems like a bit of reverb but what sort of head / cab combo? I’ve got a Marshall code if that helps

      The fundamental thing for this type of sound is a single coil pickup, or a humbucker in split position.
      You probably want some amp model in a crunch type of setting. Try setting the gain at a level where it's almost breaking up, but not quite. Set it so that it breaks up when you hit the strings hard, and then pick accordingly.
