They tried that with DiRT 4 and ended up with a subpar sim mode and a fairly bland arcade mode. Much easier to just focus on one handling model. Personally I would love for F1 games to be full sims but they gotta appeal to the masses unfortunately.
Usually every year this F1 game comes out, it makes me want to play AMS2 more. This year, F1 24 just feels better on the wheel than in previous years. AMS2 is the king of FFB along with ACC…. But in F1 24 The FFB is definitely upgraded this year. It has me hooked more than previous versions. The real win is the content. AMS2 will get there when the long awaited career mode eventually releases but until then… this F1 game gives us something that a lot of sim titles lack… a shitload of content to keep you entertained, immersed, and keep racing for hours.

I mainly do my sim racing in VR. F1 2022 was terrible for VR. I had hoped for improvements in F1 2023, and while it seemed slightly better to me, it was still unplayable. I tried F1 2024, and it was even worse than 2022. I don't understand why they say this game supports VR. So, I just play "F1" in Assetto Corsa.
I actually liked the handling prior to the update, although it feels like more arcade like, it was fun. the new update feels like f123 and I didnt like it too much after a while, you can spin out literally touching the grass or curb 1mm on your tire lol. if I want more realism, I just play assetto. F1 23 / F1 24 is not realistic at all. just fun though!

I think compared to other sim racing games, the new Patch of F1 24 was a huge step back. The first handling in F1 24 was the most realistic F1 handling we've ever had. Yes there were some bugs, but there were fixable. Now the car feels so strange and it loses control out of nowhere.
Not really , the old version had lot of room to abuse . Although was kinda realistic when driven under the limit but when u try to push it , it becomes quite unrealistic at the peaks

Can anyone help me with F1 24. I have a simagic base and wheel with the simgrade vx pro pedals every single game i try they work great but in F1 my pedals arent working i cant calibrate them in settings they just dont work cant play at all.... 😢😢😢

Hello, what can you say about the force feedback in f1 24? In f1 23, i feel like i did not get any feedback from the road, tires and suspensions (using csl dd 8nm for reference). Thx in advance!
try turning up the FFB in the in game settings, and max your base in your fana software. I had a r9v2 (so similar max force) and running that at max made me barely feel enough (in my base software). However, adjusting up the in game FFB while leaving the base at max had better results, and I could feel things. Honestly though tf1 23 was garbage when i firdt tried it and wrote it off it was that dead... after adjusting the ffb its now my favorite.
@@Smooky_SOA I think you are missing point or not on a PC. Mouse support to navigate menus not drive. You know when every person and game on PC in the world uses a mouse to operate menus it seems ridiculous that Codemasters can’t include this in the F1 games. I guess because they are just console arcade ports so lazy programming . Having to fumble around navigating menus with buttons and dials on a PC is stupid.
If I were you and were willing to spend around 10% more, I would go for the Fanatec CSL DD Ready2Race bundle and buy the clutch seperately. It has a slightly stronger wheelbase and a 300mm rim.

I used to be great on a wheel on pc. Now i have a ps5 and god its hard to be consistent on a pad. Im messing with settings but on a pad its too prone to oversteering.
Is career mode better than 22? I haven’t bought one since, but it was buggy with engines blowing up for no good reason, and it just made me give up on it early on.

The game has many bugs including the career mode bug. The game stalls on contract negotiations and doesn't proceed to the next race. I spent 5 gruelling days to find out the game is an unfinished product
With regards to traction control feeling, It’s seems like EA/Codemasters really tried to give us the sensation of ground effect and low pressure aerodynamic drag behind the car. We’ve got to remember that with the extra load of the car tyres to ground, it enforces the extra traction therefore extra opposite load / resistant to engine output. So to that logic Rev stagnation would be inevitable especially round high speed cornering, but breaking traction around slow speed corners should always remain a threat. I love the point about “easy to drive but difficult to master” whilst there’s likely a bit of tweaking EA/codemasters need to do to fix some obvious challenges, but I still think they need to stand by their development plan and tell us to get good. Gaming communities are getting too comfortable with complaining about how difficult games are and I think that’s what kills games in the long run. There are still bigger problems in the game beyond our ability to drive/race, communities should put pressure on that. For anyone who can’t resist saying “omg it’s unrealistic…. “ It’s a game. Be a hero and get a job in creating better games.
I didn't play the game. I didn't buy it. But after all the videos I've seen, I conclude that it would be better if they made some improvements to the handling over the f1 23 and made a smarter AI (like the one in the 24 seems to be). And the more balanced game between ERS and DRS. And they had more than 80% positive reviews on Steam. SURELY.

It's like they've put half a foot into the serious category. It just feels like a shame that the premier racing league in the world isn't offering the bare minimum to sim racers. I don't mind the arcadey aspects that you can turn off or ignore. But proper fov support doesn't seem like it would be too hard to give
All your missing in that sim rig when playing f1 24 is a light that can circle around you to mimic the lighting of the sun and maybe some other lighting mimic light when being outside.
Pit stops still automatic, game still trash, would rather listen to my vacuum cleaner than engine sounds. By accident they should have at least improved something over the years
It's like it needs two modes, an arcade mode for the masses on controllers and a SIM mode for those that want more realism.

Nah. I don't like the ecosystem of fanatec as much. I have an easy, clear upgrade path with moza. Plus all the fanatec issues lately.

how did you remove the in game steering wheel?
I asked the same question last year, and apparently the movement is turned off and the screen is covered where the wheel is.
