  • In this video you will see Ivo doing various boat works with the help of Maya and Mira. Bottom job, installing Garmin gWind Transducer, new sails, fixing the old spinnaker. And we sail from Whangarei to Opua for a final check out before sailing from New Zealand to Fiji.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
14-years-old Maya from Canada with her folks Ivo and Mira from Bulgaria sailing aboard 38-foot catamaran Fata Morgana, sailing since 2013 (first boat-zero sailing experience, everything DIY)

Love the gulls making babies and raising families on the abandoned sailboat. Love your videos!

Fantastic video, captures what it is really like getting the boat up and running again, Love the shot when he is at the top of the mast and you have the reflection in the water. good to see you know your place, you do the work of hooking the mooring boy, then he steps in to tie on. again, thanks and great filming.

Wow! Great video and evidence of Ivo’s many talents. You all work together so well, and that’s why it’s such a joy to follow your travels and adventures, whether at sea or on land.
That sure was an unruly bunch of fair feathered friends on your neighbor’s “poop deck” (literally!).
Safe travels to each of you as you finally embark on the high seas once again to Fiji ...
Cheers from a grateful patron who plans to stick with you through “thick and thin” and come what may.

Working at the top of the mast for that long would be physically demanding, and for me, scary. I like those new sails....you should see a knot boost in speed. I hope your passage to Fiji finds steady breezes with no storms or large choppy seas. Interesting episode.....thank you!

Ed Rosenberger Thanks yes, the new sails are great! The passage to Fiji was the most surreal one ever, and the video is coming up next. No storms or big seas, you will see.

Thanks Maya and family for another excellent video (I have viewed them all) - Maya your narration is excellent. I couldnt help noticing that the comical comments have disappeared and you look a little "down" in this video - no smiles. Are you maybe getting tired of life on a boat? Hope not. Wishing you all a continued beautiful life and a blessed 2018 from South Africa.

David Boy , Yes, this was a bit too serious :) Also, we are now planing a return to land life, taking a vacation from the boat.

Did you leave for Fiji on the same day you checked out of NZ? Where are you heading in Fiji?
If you go to Suva, I have an old crew mate there, Esava. He's Fijian, and was aboard the SV Alvei, with me, in Vanuatu in 2015. He's a lot of fun.

Lydia Johnson We went to Fiji, then Vanuatu and New Caledonia. This was last year. Now we are back in New Zealand.

How are your new sails from South Africa performing?

Paul Westmaas Great, just perfect. They are made by the original sailmaker for Leopard catamarans. Great service and product.

I saw that this vessel is for sale? Are you moving up in size or is the sailing over for now? Love the videos!

Your content is always awesome as usual! What continues to amaze me though is the professionalism of your presentation. The style and techniques in play here rival the best of the best in the film industry in my eyes. Now I´m not much for the type of content you see in film fairs and such and I've no idea how you would fair being judged there...too much abstract thinking going on there for me! I compare you to maybe National Geographic maybe....in that field your work would be hard to beat!

Иво много готино казва "тръндусър". Веднага мога да позная, че е българин :D А тези птици как бяха наакали лодката! На вас случва ли ви се да ви накацват и наакват ?
