Welcome! Great men! The sad part is that Kerry Strongman died 2-3 days after this video was published and he never saw it.... His big heart finally failed, but will be remembered.

Awesome content thank you from an expat kiwi! And yes I have worked with Kauri as a boat builder, beautiful timber, perfect for hulls, decks and bulkheads, but does dent & ding in cabinet joinery, so, often not used there.
Yes, Kauri is great for boats.
Awesome video guys, To me this has been the best one yet, I just loved the workshop tour, my mouth was watering just seeing huge chunks of wood being turned into art, my workshop is a little more modest compared to these big guys, The arizona dry wood is very expensive and goes for $45 of wood just to make a 2 pens, under cities it is illegal to go get wood yourself because in america they have people that are licence to get it for you, If you do it yourself you can get upto 20 years in prison for collecting it and a huge fine, What is so special about that wood?, It was growing as a little tree 500 years before the saxons invaded england and it was the only wood so far that comes with a serial number on it to prove it was bought legit, I also use african red blood wood for chinese dragon pens, The guy in with the boat also rocks, that boat is going to be real special.
WOW! Yes, good workable wood is hard to get and expensive in many countries, including New Zealand. Especially the Kauri, which is a protected species now and even the swamp Kauri is under heavy regulations. I would love to visit your workshop some day. We are selling the boat and will be living on land for a while, in Vancouver, so we will be traveling on land all over North America again. Will let you know when we are coming to Arizona!
