I think a plate of 12 or 14 ga extending above and below over the torn hole and then attach your tube and sleeve. Spread the load over the light gauge sq. tube. Good Luck. Take care. Doug
I fear that is the same/similar problem I have with mine (2004 Silverado). The problem occurred when I lifted my butt to take my wallet out of my back pocket but I was putting quite a bit of pressure on the back seat in that position and being a bigger guy (6'2" & 240lbs), it is understandable, I suppose.
2010 yukon denali I think this may be my problem also. I was reaching back between seat with a lot of weight on the right upper and felt it give. Sucks $$$ 6'2 200lbs How many others are out there. Class action ?? Seat shouldn't break from leaning on it.
Mine broke just climbing in. I bridged between my feet on the floor and my back on the seat to hoist my fat a$$ into place and heard it break. I weighed about 260 at the time.
tjsnordic np, just goes to show how absolute bare minimum , parts are made off anymore. Just keep trying to imagine wtf this prior owner did to break, maybe hooker obsession, large hookers?

Is there any way to fix it other than welding ? Maybe making some kind of bolt-on brackets ?
Not that I am aware of.
Hey, I’m sure there is, just have to figure it out. You deal with yours ?
Small angle bracket and use a pop rivet to fasten.
@@erikdelatorre9084 I tried taking the seat apart , but got fed up & bought 2 good material seats from a scrapyard , Thanks anyway .
@@denispoirier5442 I was going to take mine to a seat shop and have him disassemble it and reassemble after I repaired it.

GM junk and beancounters is the answer.
I have a 60/40seat and it appears to just have a pin in one side
I was hoping to see how the back came off
Mine broke from leaning back while backing up the boat trailer .

Just thinking, maybe hole saw outside square tube and slide long tube thru and inside lateral . 100 ways, good luck.
shade38211 slip in tube inside wont work as the original tube slides on a mount and is thru bolted. thanks

4 videos and you didn't even show the hardest part of pulling the cover off ? Come on man?
That is because there are seat cover vids showing how to do this. I watched those.to get my cover off.
I can't find the seat cover video on your site. Can you give us a link ?
