Nice review, I have 3 on order with the Bluetooth feature. 3 of these fit in the space that 2 of my old GC2 golf cart batteries on my camper were. 1/2 the weight AND 3x the usable capacity. Crossing my fingers they come undamaged.
I just ordered 2 for my boat, which has limited battery space, maybe later with more planning I’ll upgrade to 230ah cells, if needed. The biggest things that I like about the Wattcycle is that it is NOT pouches and the battery case has bolts to take it apart. Not that I plan on taking it apart, but it gives replacement cells a chance and , if desired, to “upgrade” the BMS. You can do it on other minis, but the case is glued together.
I’m using this battery in a very cold climate paired with a Bluetti AC200…. Can the Wattcycle battery (and the Bluetti) continue to provide power below 32 degrees f? Do battery heating blankets work to keep batteries warm for recharging? Great reviews and very helpful…thanks!!!
Assume it's in parallel with another battery and charger - then connected to a load in 20° weather. Will they drain until it warms up and then click on to allow charging while in use?
@OffGridBasement I've seen others take other wattcycle batteries apart. They typically have 4 rectangular prismatic cells in there, easy to take out. I believe they are EVE brand cells, probably LF100. I bought this battery because the parts to make my own would be about the same price if not more. Unfortunately you have to destroy the case by cutting it open to get inside.
If you float charge the battery at 13.6v for an emergency back up system or a UPS how much will it reduce battery life or capacity, please? Or, just fully charging and not discharging it 20% (so it sits at 80) for max life storage? A T Burke
I don't see any problems with it. The shopsmith was my grandfather's and it still works great. I mostly use it as a drill press. Thanks for the comment.
@@OffGridBasement That’s cool to be able to use your grandfather’s tools. I just inherited some from mine, he passed at 93. But yeah, always been interested in the Shopsmith, just the whole setup is kind of intimidating haha
I will bet you that these smaller 12v 100AH are cell pouches, and much thinner and lighter. I feel with all of these cell pouches can increase failure due to the quantity, if this uses cell pouches? The smaller 12v 100AH had cell pouches that I had.
I would be surprised if it used prismatic cells since it is so light. Pouch cells are not my first choice for a larger bank setup. Thanks for the comment.
@@OffGridBasement OK, Thank you for your reply. I'm thinking that you have to have a lot of power draw on the system to make it catch fire. LED lights, TV, computer etc. might be safe?
My battery I use for my solar on my cabin weighs 60 lbs. Its a 12 volt marine batter 122 amp hour, And it has done everything I have asked of it impressively well. Each to their own but seeing what a marine battery can do , I mean I've never had a life pro battery or anything like that but for that kind of money, I can buy 4 marine batters and have a total of 12 volts with 500 amps or 48 volts with 122 amps. Have you ever thought about testing marine batteries vs life pro batteries or the likes there of ? it would be interesting to see the comparisons.
@@brucey5585 It is a marine battery, lead acid and I got it at Walmart like 2 years ago and I paid right at about 100 bucks I thought. And it says right on it 122 ah. And it has not disappointed me. without actually going out into my garage and looking at it I think its like the 29 class. But ya, I bought it at my local Walmart store My solar charge controller recognized it immediately and it ran and charged it just fine.
I just ordered the Wattcycle mini w/Bluetooth for my diy portable power. Great review, thanks.
I think you'll like it. It's a great little battery.

They're packaged great with lots of padding. I think you'll be good. Good luck and thanks for the comment.
I’ve been looking into batteries, and WattCycle really caught my attention. Thank you for the thorough review!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the comment.
yea that great result for battery size like that, would be good to see what inside if you can put out cells out without damaging the box
I'm hesitant about taking it apart. It's most likely pouch cells. Getting them out of the case would be difficult.
@@OffGridBasement oh yea if its sealed and can be damaged dont try to open it,because i would not,gl
Thank you for the review! Very nice little battery with big battery capability.
Thanks for watching!

That's great to hear! I'm sure they will work great for you. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the review
No problem 👍. Thanks for the comment.
whats the difference in the “ pro” model?
Nothing that I can see. Possibly the low temp charging protection is more accurate.
Can you please do a head to head on all your 12v 100ah mini batteries? Which top 3 to get based on all test, build etc etc. Thanks
Thanks for the suggestion and the comment.

Yes. It will provide power down to 4⁰F. I just won't charge until temp is 27⁰F
Nice vedio. How to use this battery for other purpose except trolling motor, like USB or power bank
You can find a USB port on Amazon that connects directly to the battery.
Assume it's in parallel with another battery and charger - then connected to a load in 20° weather. Will they drain until it warms up and then click on to allow charging while in use?
Exactly. They discharge @ 4⁰F, but don't start charging until 32⁰F
It would be interesting to see you open the case and see what cells and BMS they are using. The size and weight difference has my curiosity peaked.

how many can you run in parellel
Up to four in parallel.
Would this be a good choice for a 36v tolling motor if I got 3 of these?
I think it would work just fine for you. Thanks for the question and the comment.

I would say trickle charging to maintain 13.6v would be good. Hope this helps.
Very nice 👌 👍
Thanks
Most welcome 😊. Thanks for the comment.
Seems like a good deal for under $200. Also never noticed you had a Shopsmith.

I want to build a solar system for backup but am afraid of it catching on fire. I've seen a lot of videos about lithium batteries catching fire.
Lithium ion batteries can catch on fire. Lithium iron phosphate batteries.. not so much.

In the U.S. this battery is $200. It's unfortunate that it costs so much in other places. Thank you for the comment and information.
If you can get 4 x 12v 122ah lead battery for $200 please leave a link. I want to get 1 for my truck. All I can find is 12v 100ah for $180.
