Eric's vocal weight and resonance just blows my mind. And like you said, he has a phenomenal range (up to F5). We've all heard bass singers get that high, but I cannot think of an Oktavist like Eric who can.

One of my favorite Eric-belt notes are right around A4. The sheer weight/color of it is awesome. Thanks for watching!

@@bass2yang in Viking culture it was not unheard of for a contingent of warriors to vocalize a kind of prayer if you will prior to a battle engagement in the same way this ensemble is vocally choreographed . I recall reading one that went like this (Chefton/lead guardsman/Shaman starts) "Lo there do I see my Father, (seconded by next in line of authority or place of importance ie lead guardsman/Shaman joins Chefton for second verse) "Lo there do I see my Brothers" (full contingent joins in and finishes prayer/hymn with all) "lo there do I see my mother and my sisters, Lo there do I see the line of my people, all the way back to the beginning, Lo, they do call to me, they bid me take my place among them, in the halls of Valhalla were the brave may live forever" So hearing these three musically inclined individuals showing Ohmage to it by structuring this interpretation this way is amazing.

Miracle of Sound is a gamer. He will play a game or watch a tv series / movie. Those he likes. He will create songs based off it. Been listening to Gavin's music since his 2nd album came out.

Yep, my favourite musician on TH-cam and off. The one artist I support on Patreon because I get so much out of it, being a gamer myself and totally in love with his music. He's the best advertisement for any game he deems inspirational enough to make a song about it, because he makes the game look so much better through his art. Same with tv series.

Definitely someone us lower-voiced guys can hope to aspire to. I think my favorite part about Eric is just how comfortable he sounds in the first octave: it sounds like he doesn't even need to put forth effort to generate a resonant G1-D2. Thank you for the insightful comments, I really enjoy your channel!

In response to your question as to what Valhalla is, it is the Nordic mythological hall for fallen heroes who died in battle. Basically it is the equivalent of a Nordic (Viking, etc.) warrior dying and ascending to live among the gods.

Well, I did drop a longish comment about the connections between this song and Assassin’s Creed, etc. but then I went to fix something (my comments are almost always edited-the writer in me wants to fix stuff). TH-cam wouldn’t let me post the edit and now the comment is gone. MAYBE it’ll reappear with the part I wanted to fix. Anyway, great reaction/analysis, Thou! I did at least want to add this for the algorithm.
ETA there I go fixing stuff. LOL.

Yet again, thanks for your analysis. It gave both enjoyment and enlightment.
Not a gamer, but since many years deeply interested in history, especially viking/ medieval period and of Nordic descent. That's what calling me to this song. Also the enjoyment of the powerfull music these singers bring.
    Eagerly anticipating your next reactionvideo.
This last year and a half I've been on a musical journey. Stumbling on Geoffs cover of Misty Mountains quite by chance and clicking on it bc being an avid Tolkien reader since early youth, I've discovered acapella music,Bass voices and the last 7-8 months also metal music. Genres that never existed in my life before. To dive deeper into those subjects has given me many hours of happiness.
Your analysises have been very helpful for me during this time and I've also had the enjoyment of your own voice in your videos. So thanks for doing this, the analysis, educating and singing.

Always amazing Thou, to expand on on some of the other comments, I'm pretty sure Eric hits a C1 chest in his youtube short cover of Geoff Castelluccis 'Way on Down'.
Side note: Do you have plans to post more music like your cover of Chesnokov's - Salvation is Created? Absolutely loved that.

    • @bass2yang

Yes - he has gone lower than C1 from what I remember in our conversations but rarely does so because it's mostly "scrapping the barrel". But he still does it so well haha.
Yes. There is a piece that I have that I am starting soon and should be done (also soon). Thanks!

Hello, you like to listen to low voices, I suggest you listen to Geoff Castellucci. He made videos of some well-known songs and where he is lower than anyone else.
Then he also sang with a group VoicePlay. The last one is Valhalla calling me from Miracle Of Sound.
Your spoken voice is pretty impressive too.
