I love A Machine for Pigs to death. The steampunk design of everything and how haunting the sounds and music are. It's perfect. I love the game layout even more and progressive unraveling of the story
I think the end of the game reinforces the idea that Mandus imagines much of what is happening, like seeing a physical manifestation of the engineer although we know he is simply the other half of his split soul. When Mandus ascends the stone steps of the temple and sits on his "throne" to sacrifice himself, he is flanked by his dead children, impaled through their hearts, but we know this cannot be since Edwin's and Enoch's headless corpses are back in Mexico, and their skulls are buried in the yard under the bulges of the rhododendron. Very well made video, I'm glad this game is getting some attention.
I always thought the reason the Engineer had the same voice as the Professor was cause of the Professor dying. Seeing as the place we hear the audio of him dying is near a large drop, I always figured Mandus threw him down and his body and "soul" was put into the machine. But due to 1/2 of Mandus's soul powering the machine, the only thing the Professor did was give it a voice. That or if the Machine has a sentience of some sort, it "Choose" this voice to maybe toy with Mandus? Amnesia : A Machine for Pigs is the most underrated part of the series. with the possible exception of Rebirth.

From processing pork to making them, truly an inspirational progression of an entrepreneur
