Awesome video! One of the things that always impresses me in the cinematic way you two use game footage and in-game set peices for this. It really adds to the content and keeps me engaged. Thank you for taking so much time to make beautiful videos with unique content people can actually use. 💕
I love the breakdown! Thanks for the number crunching. SIDE TANGENT: It is usually never the QA department that has the decision to fix or not fix something. A lot of the time even the other developers tasked with fixing something might not, based on what a producer wants. The producer often also has corporate breathing down their necks about metrics (or milestones, reasonable or not) or at least, someone higher above them in the chain, sooooooo. It is complicated and crummy, but you know, they want allllll the money. That and it can be a corporate culture thing. In 'AAA' companies, QA developers (whom are not automation QA aka running scripts to check things) are treated very, very poorly.
Thank you for taking the time to go so in depth. I would love to see more spread sheet/data driven type content in the future. Overall informative and helpful video thank you two for what you do ❤
My girlfriend and I usually try to optimize the 24-hour score boosters by purposely avoiding weekly challenges on the first day of the week, using a booster and playing late on the second night, then playing early enough on the third day to finish all of our daily and weekly challenges before the booster runs out. On all three days, we usually use our daily re-rolls on weekly challenges to maximize our chances of getting bonus score from epic challenges (although we occasionally re-roll daily challenges when they seen particularly difficult or annoying). We have occasionally saved our weekly challenges for further chances at getting epic challenges, but the reward rarely seems worth using additional score boosters, daily re-rollers, or premium re-rollers for weekly challenges after the third day, so we usually just finish our weekly challenges on the third day then use daily re-rollers for daily challenges for the rest of the week.
Thanks for the time you spent on this data and the breakdowns. My style of “scoreboarding” is buying the least expensive items to meet the requirements for the bonus page, unless there is something really cool.
Awesome math! Good to know i haven't been wasting my time to ticket ratio. Personally, I dont buy anything over 20 tickets, till im close to the bonus page. Then i math out how many more i need, and compare the price to love ratio. If i dont love something, ill buy the cheapest thing just to get to thatv2nd bonus page. But if i love something, I'm buying it. Doesnt matter how many tickets lol. But atleast i reduce bloat.
My problem hasn't been finishing the seasons or not having enough tickets, its a desire to actually want to grab everything. Typically what they've done is having the only things really worth having near the end of the season. Most of the skins and stuff I just don't grab because its for armor sets and such that I just don't use so why waste the tickets on them. I will typically go for secret service armor skins, maybe a power armor skin.. most of the weapon skins are for weapons I don't use... but really its about the CAMP items for me.. those are what I am after for the most part.. so by the time I get to the end I have the tickets needed. All I do is run my dailies which normally only takes a few minutes and pop a score booster on tuesdays to get the weeklies and the daily for that day done in one shot. I wish they would add more things that are actually worth getting, the vast majority of it is just filler crap that I know I won't ever use =/ What I would really like is for them to get rid of the pages all together and just have a season be its own specific page on the atomic shop where you can buy whatever you want once you have the tickets to do it. So if I just wanted to bank up 200 tickets and only get the raider hunter lodge this season I could do that.
Yeah I disagree that we should pay for fallout 1st. Bethesda already have a way to make money off players by offering compelling items in the MTX shop for Atoms, meaning they could kill fallout 1st tomorrow and be financially fiable. They created various bottlenecks and annoyances in their game's gameplay intentionally to coax players into paying a monthly subscription to the game. Sure on paper paying 8 Bucks a month is reasonable , especially for content creators, but most people don't play this game all year round , thus a yearly subscription is a big ask... Could be buying two brand new games for that price a year, versus obsession over tedious seasonal scoreboards and grinding meh items in them...
Finding value in the subscription is not shilling. I enjoy having the scrap and ammo box especially and the private world amd free atom shop stuff is bonus. Now, should they give EVERYONE these things and just put amazing stuff on the shop to make money? I love that idea.
Best presentation ever! Good job! Also quite funny, you got me laughing a lot. I love it when noodle says yayyy 🎉❤ You're my favourite f76 youtubers :) I hope you can live just from doing this and go on with it for a long time.
The all powerful Bethesda robs us of plenty of opportunities every time they shut down for updates, fixes, or maintenance. The "Boost" & "Buffs" lose time & utility when any of the 3 things mentioned above happens. To make up, give us a free boost item when the game comes back online, outside of the daily "Free" item. Opportunity cost is lost when we can't level up whenever the servers are down, game crashes(way too many), or glitches. Updates should be seamless behind the scenes. The third week into the season 18 scoreboard I am level 80, I kill everything in sight for XP, 3000 hours played & there's 2 diseases no matter how hard I try still can't catch, WTH?
Very thorough breakdown. I was very against Fallout 1st at the start but eventually bought the entire year package which roughly averages out to .27 cents per day USD. Yeah, it's been way worth it just to save me on storage aggravation and the survival tent is pretty handy. Now looking at the scoreboard breakdown, it's even more worth it. This season's rewards however, for me at least, weren't all that great. Regardless, thanks for the video and take care.
My last season was without 1st an I had to get every single thing available on the scoreboard just to unlock the second bonus page, this time round with 1st I can avoid almost all over 40c so I have more left to spend on bonuses, handy since the only expensive one I actually want is the coffee machine
you guys do great work, im so glad i dont have to do all this math cos i suck so bad at it lol. thanks for the great info and for all the work you guys do
The truth of the matter about the grind is that you REALLY need to take advantage of the XP bonus score while you are under level 100. It only took 3 weeks to get to 102 (what i am rn) spamming Expeditions early on or maybe its the westek grind you like. whatever.. just take full advantage and rank up as fast as possible so you have many more weeks at level 100 than the graph would suggest.
I just started playing and I basically did some of these calculations last season. You simply buy season pass day 1, you get more atoms back then you spent, and then you just have 2k+ tickets at the end to use on whatever you want provided you're doing the dailies and stuff. I choose to max out my 4 legendary perk cards. This season I'll prolly just buy modules.
Occam’s Razor would say otherwise. Bethesda can’t even be bothered to know that what they present as “track housing” is supposed to be “tract housing,” and they do things like put images into the rewards pages backwards (Morse Code poster from Season 17). They have garbage quality control, garbage rewards, and didn’t unlock two pages at once for either previous season, so it’s more likely an error than a crafty plan to motivate people who only really care about getting to Rank 150 anyway.
Ehh, I don't mind the seasonal stuff, my wife and I actually like this season's rewards. What pisses me off is the suggestion that the new legendary system results in less RNG grind, but for those of us with crappy luck, it's worse. Since the change, I've scrapped over 115 anti-armor weapons and have not had a single. friggin'. Anti-Armor mod drop for me. Hell, I can't get Bloody or Two-Shot either, all I get are the garbage single star mods. So RNG and grinding is now worse, and all I do is regret all the good gear I scrapped in hopes of trying to make even better gear. This just resulted in more stash space and way more frustration.
I think that some people look at like "I bought the game why do i need to keep paying to play " But the scrap box alone to me makes it worth it. Even though it took me literally fourteen times to complete the vault raid because of non responding NPCs I was truly ready to SCREAM🤭 So when you're playing a game you bought and are still paying to play, you would expect things to work. I know; that's the Bethesda Way There's my thoughts and thanks for the great video always informative.
I concur, playing as a Fallout 1st member in 76 is the way to go. At lest for me, but it does not mean you need it to just enjoy the game content as it is now. A far cry from this games initial launch. Some back grand, I have been playing Fallout from 3, New Vegas and 4 for many years, and I still do being they are heavily modded. But 76 when it first came out was just awful, and I stop playing it after a few months in until just over 2 years ago when I gave it a second look. And wow am I hook on it now and enjoy it just as much as the others Fallout games, just with out the modding part. That said, I was not a Fallout 1st member yet, that came later as a 1 year birthday gift to me from a buddy of mine. Once the year was up I did not reapply for anther year of fallout 1st until about 3 months later on when I started to really miss the perks of having it, so I reapplied for anther full year. Come this January I plan to reapplied for a 3rd full year again. And yes for those out there thinking on becoming a Fallout 1st too, apply for the year, the month to month thing is just way to expensive in the long run and you may just regret getting it in the first place...
Great video both. I'm only doing the dailies the weekly challenges and expeditions Once I get to a 100 I won't even be doing Any of the challenges And they have fallout first seems to be getting a waste of time for everyone I want playing 12 hours plus a day now I play 5 hours or less a day.
Thanks for another well done video! I must say i quit F76 for the most part as my favorite MMO to play as the new seasonpass-model launched. It is very annoying and scalping. Makes F76 definitely much less fun to play for me then the original Scoreboard. IF they will ever change it again i will come back more often but i doubt they will. So, F76 will be replaced... so sad -.-
I love making this sort of stuff. If I could make enough money to pay the bills doing just data science and breakdowns like this, I totally would. -oskapt
got to rank 100 on the 2nd day of double xp weekend, so day 9 of the event😁 the west tek brain rot was worth it, I still have 3 of those temp booster bottles left so im set also you get 300 scoreboard point for every 3 public events you do past lvl100 and I play all day everyday (almost), Bethesda really didn't think this one through 🤣
@@2kool4rock A) stop being such a debby downer B) any one past a certain level could grind west Tek to get to lvl100 well before the 7 week point, it would take at most 4-5 days.....out of 13 weeks. thus putting them ahead of the time line. so this just sounds like a you problem
Shhh, I noticed the 2 43's at the beginning and pushed to get to it in case they ended up fixing it lol. So glad they didn't but yeah not suprised either.
I don’t think so…but I didn’t see it live. Looking at the items from this week I see Classical Columns, which are different. This one you can use as a display, and Moonlight Cowboy has a video about cool merge stuff you can do with it.
I still think the board game style was better than this Pages system, I’m not as motivated to pay for FO1st only at the end of a season, and this season doesn’t have something that I want that much, just the hat in page 1 I would have preferred they improved the previous system instead of this one
It shows that you are one of the rare people who play for hours and max out your XP with buffs and grinding West Tek or expeditions over and over and over again. In a standard distribution you are what’s known as an outlier, just as the people who don’t play the game at all during a season and don’t advance past rank one are also outliers on the other side. Data like what we are showing deals with the 68% of people who fall in the middle of the curve, the majority of people for whom the game is an entertaining pastime and not an obsession. It would be great if we could have more obsessed people to shift the curve, but without direct access to analytics data from within Bethesda, we can only paint a picture with the broadest, most inclusive strokes.
@@Gamer_Aviator This is true i did grind out west tech on full xp buffs. My comment was meant more as a joke then a real question, since i figured most players aren't using xp buffs and grinding or in the case of you guys buying the ranks.
This may be a little off topic but I need help I know you bought the season so I wanted to ask I just got to level 100 and want to know what events count to get score from 100 to 150 I keep seeing them say events or public events but I'd like to know specifically what counts and what doesn't it so I don't waste my time if you could please help me out
Congrats on reaching 100! The next repeatable is new and awards S.C.O.R.E. after three public events. There is a public event every 20 minutes the gets announced via broadcast. There are also announced events tied to nuke actions, like Scorched Earth. Then there are unannounced public events like workshop defense events that you can trigger by doing actions. If an event lasts an average of 10 minutes, then between all of these you could get as many as 6 per hour, giving you a new rank for every 4-6 hours of event grinding.
When you factor in the monthly/yearly fee for playing on a console, it’s almost double that. And that, and other subscriptions, gives me pause to think about keeping it.
@@lumfan2 they won't and cannot replace items in the game. I was told to pound sand when I submitted my ticket. Which is great because I stored them in the scrap box that cost 16.oo Can to f'n have. What a bs system/service.
I like your comment about if more people paid for fallout first we might get more content. I posted a reply to a gripe on a Reddit thread years ago, and I was roasted about paying for fallout first. There are many models in our society that you pay more you get more I don’t understand why in gaming. The gamers are so against a model that is you pay more you get more.
@@rightontrek because you DONT get more. You end up paying WAY MORE in the long run for things that could be already a part of the game but aren’t because they’re greedy
The show saw an uptick of players, more potential fallout 1st sells. What do we get in return? A glorified escort quest that's buggy af. Where is the more?
You could unlock it for $225 if you don’t want to grind at all, but I don’t think that’s in B’s calculations. They just want it to be a reward for the extra dedicated people who play a lot every day.
IMO season pass is a better deal, than then fallout 1st as far as the season rewards go, because they are the same. You mention season pass but you really ignore it in any meaningful way.
The previous scoreboard system was worse. Cost? Cost of what? There are definitely fewer and worse items each season. I'm still confused what you mean by cost. Are people actually buying things outside of FO1st? Why? I always have max caps, scrip, gold, and even have like 8-9k Atoms. I have yet to have a reason to use actual money for anything. I couldn't play without FO1st now haha.
The cost is for comparison. No one has a sense of the value of tickets, but they do have a sense of the value of an item in atoms. It’s for comparison so you can tell when you’re being ripped off. The rewards are worse, and there are fewer off them. We talk about that. If the rewards were on the scoreboard then they would also suck. That’s not what we’re trying to show here. The quality and quantity is worse, but the system itself is almost identical. Maybe even better because you can get the repeatable stuff off of BP2 if you’re willing to put in the time.
I appreciate the production value. Just wish yout commentary was less negative. Prefer you state the facts and let me form my own opinion. I feel you are looking for excuses to be negative.
I find them more funny, rather than really negative, but I agree that it may come across like that. They just show the data in an interesting way IMHO.
Appreciate all your efforts and this info but ......... I absolutely disagree with your comment to sign up to 1st. You show us how there are less rewards each season and the the dramatic increase in cost so why in the world would we support these sleazy cash grab tactics by giving them more cash? Being forced to claim items I don't want just to get bonuses is anger inducing. The amount of items that can only be claimed having 1st is extremely slimy as well. Also, I understand your comparison values but your NOT spending atoms to get atoms. You are spending tickets that you earned to claim atoms. Bugthesda has been giving us all the big F U for quite some time now. Not sure why they think we would want to spend more time in a game that constantly treats us this way. I have no problem dropping some cash in games that deserve the support. I have a problem with game companies changing their system, mechanics and prices to force players into spending more with sleazy tactics. I will not go back to paying for 1st or purchasing atoms while this still continues.
Look, ultimately it's your decision. We just show the numbers and tell you how WE would do it. We both have FO1st and REALLY love it. Having said that we still are ALL getting screwed. Apparently the game gives us JUST enough to not mind. :D
@@Gamer_Aviator I understand completely. This is just my opinion and if you want 1st that's not going to stop me from watching or supporting you two. I just believe Bethesda has gone in the wrong direction and will not get funding from me. It's very sad for me to say these things as I LOVE the Fallout universe.
If you play the game regularly, it's ultimately worth it for the items, the really good items, you can get in the atomic shop alone, okay? Get it through your skull. Lay off the fast food for a day.
@@wintersteale because you, like many, are behaving as if the season pass is the primary source of rewards in the game when it's not. The atomic shop is. The season pass is a tertiary aspect of the business model they use, at best. Frankly the only reason they ever came up with it at the time they did was because it was all they had for awhile for until they started adding genuine content to the game. It's essentially an artifact. So, stop acting as if it's the primary system when, plainly and simply, it is not. Your complaints are absurd.
lol, the biggest advantage of Fallout 1st is the scrapbox, ammo box, and tent...hands down. Most of the benefit from the SCOREboard, or whatever it is now, is useless garbage that is never used.

@@2kool4rock A) stop being such a debby downer
B) any one past a certain level could grind west Tek to get to lvl100 well before the 7 week point, it would take at most 4-5 days.....out of 13 weeks.
thus putting them ahead of the time line. so this just sounds like a you problem
no they just don’t account for losers that play for 15+ hours a day they set realistic standards for humans that contribute to society.
I went from rank 44 to 100 in less than 3 hours of play with the exp weekend
Been working WestTek during this double xp week, currently lvl 78 in season
We will have another double xp as soon as the maintenance has finished.
Got level 100 just minutes before shutdown 😅
Good luck with your grind to 100
Shhh, I noticed the 2 43's at the beginning and pushed to get to it in case they ended up fixing it lol.
So glad they didn't but yeah not suprised either.
.... they have a QA department?
Edit: Also.... I thought the 10% score boosters only applied to the daily score?
Happy Fallout
Fallout first rocks. Without it, I do not believe that I would continue to play this game as a hobby.
I thought the Mothman stand gives +15% xp, not 5%. Did it changed with the new season 18 update?
The pillar in the season that we can buy, is that the same pillar that was in the atom shop a few days ago?
I don’t think so…but I didn’t see it live. Looking at the items from this week I see Classical Columns, which are different. This one you can use as a display, and Moonlight Cowboy has a video about cool merge stuff you can do with it.
@Buderbukz they are visually the exact same. However, the one in the season is for junk display, and the other was just to be a pillar
Any idea when woodland retreat mansion be in the store?
I still think the board game style was better than this Pages system, I’m not as motivated to pay for FO1st only at the end of a season, and this season doesn’t have something that I want that much, just the hat in page 1
I would have preferred they improved the previous system instead of this one
What does the data show, when you hit rank 100 during day two of the double XP weekend. now being at 106 today.
Also the caravans count as a public event and if you're on a busy server with a caravan focused crowd, there are multiples running all the time.
Are you taking the lv 100+ score for every 3 events you run. 375 score per 3 events or 450 with the boost none boost is 313 per 3 events
Is the Holy Fire still available in season 18
I was able to finish the scoreboard on day one of double XP last week.
West Tek or expeditions?
@@Gamer_Aviator All West Tek with max 4,000 XP for each super mutant kill
Thats a sick fucking thumbnail
When you factor in the monthly/yearly fee for playing on a console, it’s almost double that. And that, and other subscriptions, gives me pause to think about keeping it.
True…if it’s the only game you play. I figure that PSN is just a console tax I have to pay no matter which game I’m playing.
I had to cancel the FO1st, I can't justify the cost if items are going to be missing when I possibly log back in. Over 250 modules just voosh gone.
@@GreenL00giethat type of stuff RARELY happens and when it does it fixed promptly if evidence is provided that said items actually disappeared.
@@lumfan2 they won't and cannot replace items in the game. I was told to pound sand when I submitted my ticket.
Which is great because I stored them in the scrap box that cost 16.oo Can to f'n have. What a bs system/service.
I play Fallout 76 casually. I rarely complete a Season and sometimes skip a Season completely. So for me Fallout 1st is not worth it.
seems we get caravans with the update today
Yes! See the live stream today.
I am a new fallout player. I’m only level 10. This is confusing as all hell.
If you can unlock bonus page 2 with real world money then it kind of makes sense that its so hard to reach in regular game?
You could unlock it for $225 if you don’t want to grind at all, but I don’t think that’s in B’s calculations. They just want it to be a reward for the extra dedicated people who play a lot every day.
@@Gamer_Aviator I want to thank you both for your hard work on this. Thank you.
first rewards should be free and linked to level/rank. not required to be bought with tickets.
I'm not gonna buy any skins. Maybe that stop sign power armor
Fun! 😁
IMO season pass is a better deal, than then fallout 1st as far as the season rewards go, because they are the same. You mention season pass but you really ignore it in any meaningful way.
Season pass works too. yeah
Managed to grind out the Scoreboard during double XP. Gained 56 ranks and nearly 200 levels. Now the slow grind to 150.
I won't give them money ,it crashed to much
I appreciate the production value.
@@SidNightWalker I don't purchase from the shop. Not sure what why you sound so aggressive over my opinion and I don't even eat fast food.
Still a scam. If they force you to get FO1st for half of the stuff in the game, you’re still getting ripped off and time is getting wasted
