Jennifer in NZ. My twin sister is in UK. We have had such enjoyment sharing the Inky Art School sharing our arty creations with Johanna's tutorial with each other. It's been a breath of fresh air especially for my twin in UK! Thank you Johanna for your cheerful and encouraging school - we have both enjoyed your helpful and cheery presentation. Thank you for everything.
Thank you for giving us TH-cam's the opportunity that you have you FB group. I don't have Facebook but I love drawing along with Inky Art School. I EVEN BOUGHT your new colouring book this morning, delivering Monday & today is Thursday. I already have all your other books except the teaching book but I much prefer your tutorials, you are so down to Earth and approachable , it's a pity more people have not seen the possibilities to doing something similar for those on home quarantine who feel like kicking the bin over to make mess for something to do. Thank you for helping us through this with positive motivation, I love it!!!! 💞💕💞
You are saving my sanity, stuck at home no where I can go not much I can do but your videos are amazing and have rediscovered my love of drawing and my doodles have never looked so good. Thank you so much for doing this. Made myself a new bookmark for my paper book to remind me I am capable of doing anything if I just put my mind to it and have a mentor who can guide me through the basics. Discovering your youtube channel is the best thing to happen during the pandemic. Having the time to explore it and watch all of your videos is a rare blessing in my life right now.
I have your book but having these tutorials to follow too is really bringing things alive for me. I love your enthusiasm and cheerfulness which is infectious. Thank you for making the lessons available in this way. You are very generous.
so glad you giving some of us a second chance to attend your inky art school. you are my favorite coloring book artist. thank you so much for sharing your talent with the world
OMGosh Johanna, 3 sessions, and I am so addicted to this Inky Art. It's simple and I am learning so much. Thank you sooo much, I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Have a beautiful day filled with pretty flowers. lol.
Oh my goodness!!! I have tried books to help me draw but these online follow-alongs are the key to unlocking my drawing!! You are so charming and the shapes are simple and your techniques are easy to follow along. I cannot believe what I have drawn!! Thank you so much!!!
I’m enjoying your inky series! And purchased your book yesterday; one of many of yours in my collection. I love drawing with fine line pens (my 40 year old Staedtler technical drawing pen is my fave) and make ACEO cards and bookmarks. Your inky drawings have inspired me. ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks for sharing this with all of us.
Thank you so much for all your time and effort, I have really enjoyed these tutorials. These have helped my make my journaling more colourful and interesting,💓
Am loving watching and drawing what I am learning! 😊 Thank you so much, I am finding am doodling more.. 😀 This is such fun, I have been in a art slump, 😂 was doing acrylic painting, but lost my urge. Now doing this, and finding joy in it, and so easy to grab pencil and paper, and doodle! 😊 Thank you again for sharing your joy!! 😄
Serrated = jagged edges, variegated = two colour (or more), think spider plant/ivy etc :) Love your classes here, thank you so much for making them freely available (to non-facebook users). I have just ordered your book, very much looking forward to it's arrival!
I have to say, finding these videos was perfectly timed. I set aside some time each day to draw and learn from these videos and it gives me such joy! Thank you!
I'm only @ 06:27 in the video and I feel compelled to offer some thoughts. I have several of your previous works as postcard colouring books. [My daughter bought them for me] I struggled with them for the longest time 'til I did a few online searches to find a fine line marker, which is when I discovered the Triplus Fineliner. At the same time, I learned that you use the Staedtler whatever-they're-called-pencils, which I bought and loathe and very rarely use. I'm a Polychromos and Albrecht Durer gal 'til I die! Though to be fair, my daughter preferred the brand you use and I had given her my set. Whenever Kidlet ended up in the hospital, which was often, I would colour a postcard every week she was in there. It got her to start colouring there also like a bit of an escape to her icky situation. My goal for 2020 is to spend more time in my art room and, in particular, doing floral illustrations. Which explains why I've found your videos on TH-cam this week! I love the thought of doing a big project to work on a bit at a time, however one thing I don't enjoy is black line art. I do have some 005, 01 & 02 Micron pens, but they don't come in very many colours. The Triplus Fineliners are NOT waterproof. So if I draw with them and then try to watercolour or use watercolour pencils on top of the illustrations, the ink bleeds, smudges and makes a mess. I would love for you to come out with a very fine nibbed, coloured pen that would dry to a waterproof finish. A Triplus with waterproof ink like a Micron pen. Please! LOL, not much of an ask!
Try coloured fineliners. Just go to your local art shop or newsagents or large shop that sells stationery amongst other things. I have the steadier multicolored set and I paid very little. The micron pen comes also in sepia as does the Faber Castel and once dry they are waterproof & suitable for wet mediums. I find the sepia, especially when using watercolour makes beautiful pictures but if you wish to colour In with fineliners there are many budget and waterproof brands on the market. It's worth the small investment in satisfaction in your hobby.
Thank you once again for taking the time to create these videos! I love drawing and colouring butterflies, do you have a video on drawing butterflies? Of course I love the Butterfly spread in your "How to Draw" book but naturally, I want more. I am only human after all. THANKS!
Thanks for these videos. I follow you from Spain. We are now in quarantined by COVID. I don't see the downloads you are referring to. They are no longer operational? Thanks for your attention and your sympathy.
I'm confused on why you didn't also lightly draw the boxes in pencil rather than use a stencil for the non-layered drawing? You're already erasing pencil lines in that case.
