Christmas Inky Art School - Day 5 - Place Setting Cards for the Christmas Table

- These little name cards are a beautiful and thoughtful touch to any table and will become instant memory box treasures. Add a flash of metallic ink to make them extra fancy!

** YOU WILL NEED:
Paper - I'm using white office copy paper (not glossy)
Pencil - I'm using a Staedtler Mars Rotary Pencil with a 0.5 B lead
Eraser - Staedtler Mars White Plastic Eraser
Pen - Staedtler Pigment Liner 0.2
Ruler
Tracing Paper - or use baking parchment
** LET'S DRAW:
I'm a big believer in searching for the silver lining in a bad situation.
This year we likely won't have all the family around the table, but instead, a smaller group.
Whilst we'll miss the big get-together, we can celebrate the little gatherings we can have, by making each person something truly special for their seat at the table.
You can make each of these name cards unique, or draw one and photocopy or trace it before adding the names.
When it comes to adding colour you can go traditional with reds and greens, embellish with a flash of gold or keep things super simple and monochrome.
** GIFT IDEA:
If you are popping a Colouring Book in someone's stocking, you can't go wrong with WORLD OF FLOWERS. These flowers bloom all year round and are an everlasting bouquet to inspire and delight!

Her attention to detail and certainly her patience has made this non-artsy lady very happy that I've actually been able to put to paper something like hers and I'll really try this for when our family can get together again for holidays. Never realised when tracing you can transfer image by scribbling , so much easier than tracing around thanks for great videos ordering my equipment to have a go stay safe x
Alternatively instead of rubbing the pencil on the back of the tracing you can just rub your fingernail over as well. That will also transfer the image.
This was great thank you! I usually do a placecard every Christmas but we are in lockdown so no Christmas gathering this year with my family. Maybe I'll still do them for next year and be prepared for once haha 😁

Just wondering...do you need to use a pencil to pressure the lead onto the paper from the tracing or can you rub it over with something else??

Hi do you have any recommendations for erasers that don't smudge because I find that normal pencil eraser smudge so would maybe the Mars graphite eraser that you're using work well?
