Excited for the LGO 2! I know people are not enthusiastic about the GO S spec and the LGO 2 announcement does not help its Introduction of getting Linx into stores. I like using Windows, but I do like seeing more handhelds with Linx options for casuals to encourage Windows to be more gamer-friendly. I have no handheld device, and I am looking to see if it could be worth supporting or Steam Deck (Then again, I am a small guy who likes big screens). Who knows if it does good numbers, Lenovo offering GENUINE support to the GO S, and giving out more options (OLED and paddle versions, etc.), we can see better GO S 2 more options and Lenovo can tell AMD to make a better in-house chip for the battery and performance for the next GO S 2.
Legion Go 2 looks very nice, but the only thing that bothers me are the back buttons on side of the right joycon grip. Seems really annoying to have those right where your hands are all the time rather than just on the very back. Personally I rarely if ever use back buttons on my Steam Deck so I hope they change the placement of those right controller buttons in the final version of the Go 2.
Yes! I worry about that exact thing, the right controller side buttons might be pressed accidentally constantly and might be uncomfortable to feel all the time there, specially at that supposed weight
@@BigMacWitCheez you'd still feel them on your hand tho, that's gonna be really uncomfortable, I talk based on what I play that makes me focus really hard and I accidentally start pressing my hands harder subconsciously, with those buttons there that's gonna be worse
@KingSlendy I have a Legion Go. I was worried about the same thing as you until I actually used it and found out that it's not an issue at all. I speak based on my experience owning the device.
Very interested in the Go 2. Main concerns are the trackpad placement and speakers. Kinda wish they'd make a set of simpler controllers without some of the buttons and a smaller trackpad. Will be interesting to see how it turns out later this year.
These are not new chips in terms of their power, the ones used for the S variation. Just rebranded. The steamOS version is only 16 gigs of RAM. Lossless scaling has legit released an update where you can choose any level of frame gen you want. You can 10x your frame rate. 20x your frame rate. lool. A windows device with 32 gigs of RAM can run this program pretty well. A system running SteamOS/Linux can’t use it at all. A system with not more chip power only 16 gigs of RAM & no frame gen ain’t worth buying.
My Claw 8 should be arriving any week now but I already want the Go 2. Seems like everything I disliked about the OG Go has been addressed except maybe the audio, which I haven't seen much info about. The S seems like a great Deck replacer but if you already have an OLED Deck, it's probably best to wait for Valve's actual Deck 2 OLED...whenever that happens.
@@phrozac that won’t be for a long time friend, valve doesn’t plan on releasing another deck 2 till performance makes “nvidia 1060 gtx to 3060 rtx” leaps in performance lol. You’ll be waiting a while.. I’d suggest buying a deck replacement sooner than never
Could this page help answer questions such as if purchasing the legion go S models either windows or steamos version, can the legion go controllers (first gen or second gen) be usable by legion go s model as well. Personal preference of owning the light weight S model but still wanted to purchase controllers separately so that in any case there is the option to play with the detachable controllers and just docking the legion s on table/surface. I also found out that Lenovo is offering Lenovo Legion Go Charging Connector with Battery for Controllers on the official website, will this be available when legion go s model releases? Thanks for anyone helping to contribute, hope this is possible.
Outside of a 8 inch screen this provides nothing over what we already have. You get a worse apu, smaller battery, and less ram then the ally x. Was hoping for at least something that completes with the ally x. Steam OS is nice, but bazzite has made it so its not actually a selling point.
I agree! I actually really like the screen & build of this, but I can’t justify trading out my Ally X to grab this at the same price with a LESS powerful cpu
@@retrohandheldsfair play, looking forward to seeing a size/weight comparison with the steamdeck, im waiting for a device to replace my steamdeck which is more portable
Why does everyone keep calling the z2 go a rebranded 6800u.... Like I get it's Rembrandt and they're using the same core architecture for the CPU, but it's just not a 6800u. It is new, because no 6800u only had four fours. The z2go has 4 cores, 12cus, 30% Smaller process node then Rembrandt.
@lilbenate660 if by better you mean better performance probably not. It could potentially have better battery life, more than certainly better than the original legion go. But the chip a device uses is not the whole story when it comes to battery life. So there's no real way of telling until it actually gets in people's hands for testing
@@lilbenate660no the Go S is not going to be better than the original in terms of performance or the detachable controllers That said you do get better battery life as its a 55whr battery over the original, VRR display which everyone wanted, 120hz display as well which is more stable on monitors and less power hungry, 32gb of ram when the original only had 16, front facing speakers improved over the original, adjustable triggers, and overall a cleaner and more up to date design. So yes the Legion Go S (windows edition) is much better than the original Legion Go if you don’t care about detachable controllers or playing tabletop or the performance the Z1 extreme offers over the z2 go than this is for you. I wouldn’t recommend the Legion Go S (steamOS) version unless you care about the OS being more console like and don’t want to spend as much for the windows version. Both have Z2 Go chipsets which are about as powerful as the 6800u outperforming the steam deck which isn’t too bad but definitely not strong as the original legion. If you get the windows version you can also opt for the z1 extreme chipset instead of the z2 go and you’ll have the same performance as the original Legion Go but with all the good stuff of the Legion go S. As for saving battery with Linux.. the difference is marginal and varies for games. It’s not saving enough battery to warrant caring about it much, a few more minutes isn’t worth it.

Thank you! Very informative video. You're the only one who mentioned there will be different variations.

The buttons on the back and side don't do anything unless you map them or are using FPS mode.
Waiting for LGo2!

If the Gen 1 controller works on the Gen 2 I hope it's also vice-versa so I can get Gen 2 ergonomics on my Legion Go Gen 1 without upgrading to Gen 2
From what heard u can use the new legion go 2 controllers on the current legion go z1 extreme
Where can we watch that Lenovo's event with AMD, Valve, Xbox?

I need to know the story of how all of you TH-camrs ended up in the same AirBnB? Did you all set this up or did Lenovo set this up?
Ahh maybe next year! We weren't sponsored for this trip. Just shared an Air BnB 🫡😆
They all look pretty great. Especially the steam os one. Too big for the baby hands though 😆
