I just flew on one in E on same route. My biggest issue was the lack of legroom. It’s tight. Crew weren’t great either. Aside from that the 787 is a great product with superb flying performance. “Takes the weather” quite well; I departed EWR during the remains of Hurricane Ian. Cruises faster than most so was able to arrive early despite spending 50 minutes on the tarmac.
Totally agree about the flying characteristics. I had a similar experience last summer, almost 45 mins waiting to takeoff and yet we landed 30 mins early
The 787 deploys all kinds of technology that no other planes have to mitigate turbulence. There was a lot of time built into the schedule too, and there has been tarmac construction lately at Newark limiting how many planes they can handle.
Wasn't this a great plane! I filmed a trip report on the same route last year, also on a 787, and my seat was 37L. Yup, they could've served more food though, it was a 6-hour flight after all. - Red
I flew London to Sydney via USA there and back on UA Premiere Economy 6 different flight fantastic
