I have watched 6 hours of the video so far, and I am loving the better version of Altair that has come throughout the progression of story. I didn't like Altair in the start, just like Malek, and now I respect him just like Malek is doing now. There have been some thoughts in the story that made me think of things a bit. Now, every single dialogue is giving me goosebumps. The way Altair is acting now, he's so much more confident, and he seeks knowledge now, not revenge. This was first shown at 5:37:00 . Altair was questioning and doubting his actions, but this was the time that he understood the meaning of his work, and spoke about it himself. I loved the idea that Peace should not be forced upon people, but people should be educated themselves to know the importance of peace in their lives, and ideals and beliefs should not be forced either. Assassin's creed is truly teaching me good ideas. I look forward to the last hour of this video now. Even the background music feels harder and better now.

I always liked how this game's Animus had a bit of a dreamlike feel to it.
One criticism this game had was the NPCs didn't interact with each other, the beggars only bothering the player, and others having a very minimal presence. From a lore perspective, I think it makes perfect sense:
~This Animus is said to be relatively basic and runs only what is necessary compared to the future Animus models.
~Altair was so focused on his missions that he didn't bother paying attention to the people around him unless they were related to mission (cutscenes) or directly interacted with him (soldiers, beggars, side missions, etc); the one exception could be the criers who shouted loud enough that he simply couldn't ignore their speeches.

I wish they just made a new Altair game about some other point in his life. Or a Remaster of the first one with added content. Maybe with all the stuff they originally were gonna do. @preternatural Wrong they had a deadline and left out features they originally intended to use. They talked about having money since you can pickpocket. Then reduced it to the mission feature because of time restraints. If they removed the crossbow and there was no deadline why not make a new cinema scene at the beginning with no crossbow? I will tell you why... Because it saved time they didn't have. The fact a crossbow exists in the opening is proof of what I am saying is true that ideas were Changed and features were left out. Where's your proof of what I am saying is not true? They removed a crossbow for historical accuracy you say? The crossbow has been around for over thousand years before this game took place haha. If you think crossbows didn't existed back then you need to check up on your history buddy. You don't have any idea what your talking about with your baseless claims.

i remember playing this game when it came out. i instantly fell in love with all that you can do. i was and still am an avid RPG gamer so i was a bit thrown off with the inability to venture into some areas and being stuck until i completed a certain mission, though most RPGs function this way in the beginning.
i was not surprised to see how the game then developed into the monstrosity that it became.
through its expansion in character development, scenery, and of course the history included i was reeled into every game.
watching this play-through takes me back to the basics.
how AC should be. yes all the abilities, and gadgets you gain through the series is incredible and quite fun if im being honest here but we cant escape the simplicity you feel when you just climb a building like you see here AC 1 without the fancy gadgets.
this is probably why zelda works for fans every time. they hardly change the characters - only how they interact with the objects around them and how they speak with sub characters.
in ac, we see too much change i think, with what you can do, how you can do it, how you can look, to how you can experience the game in its entirety. not everyones experience will be the same. thats actually a good thing. a really good thing but when it happens too often, too frequently and for too many divided titles it becomes a race, to the fan, which AC is their favorite. Shouldn't all of them be their favorite if they just didnt change the game so much?
i feel thats great in its core but changed too many times, too frequently like we saw, in the fast transitions of bringing us assassins creed games after the ezio series; it seemed as if we were getting a new ac game every year, i hadn't even finished one before being advertised another installment!
Though this is a great way to just make money and keep people happy but guess what kingdom hearts fans to zelda fans, how long did we have to wait for a new game? kh3? botw2?
Quite some time! yet, every time we weren't disappointed because, leeme tell ya, the wait is worth it! ;]

I miss the beginning of Gen 7 gaming. The jump between PS2 was PS3 to me feels larger than the jump between PS3 and PS5. It seems like around 2007 to 2009, games were more gritty and immersive. Maybe that is because publishers wanted to capitalize on the abilities of the new consoles. Games today are better-looking graphically but I think they've reached a point where they are too realistic and there is no room to establish a gritty tone.

Yup. I think the jumps between PS1 & PS2 along with the jump between PS2 & PS3 were the biggest ones in terms of visual quality. Everything after that seems pretty incremental. I agree that we are soon reaching a point where game engines will look more real than the best of Hollywood CGI. Give it another decade and VR games would be impossible to distinguish from real worlds.

Just ended it. The fact that it was released in 2007 surprises me enough. The graphics, gameplay and story was way ahead of its time.

Has anyone ever noticed the same theme music from this game is used in Brotherhood during the Romulus tomb missions. In particular, The sixth day where u obtain a shrunken head.

The writing of this game is much better than I remember. I remember being fascinated as a 10 year old kid back in 2007, and now I understand why.

Is there a story behind Lucy’s horrible trauma based backstory or was that just a canon event they wanted to
