Laurent nagyfaszu some of his self defense videos were quite controversial due to its ineffectiveness like how he kicked the hand of the knife attacker and the knife flys out of the attackers hand in one of his self defense videos

So I don’t step when I slip? I always step when I attempt to slip punches

A slip is supposed to be a pivot, lead foot to slip inside and rear foot to slip out. How I was taught, could be wrong.

so here's the deal I don't have a very good martial arts school in my area and the martial arts schools that are in my area are crazy expensive and I have a limited income I used to take martial arts my whole life but now I can't find the right school that can help me with my experience level without just stealing my money so Bang Ludwig and a few other channels that I have selected on TH-cam or what I use everyday to teach myself basically martial arts I have to be my own trainer which is something I hate doing but that's what I'm doing for now and the video skills are Bang Ludwig Sensei Rick Hutton Sylvie Von Douglas E do Precision striking and just because I also had a Taekwondo background at one time I also watch Ginger Ninja what does anybody think since I'm training on my own and can't get anybody to consistently come and train with me I'm pretty much loading up my house as a home gym instead of going to a gym cuz of the same issues can anyone give me feedback

Robert Liberty bro I feel your pain. I’m in a similar boat. This is what I’ve done.
1.) study study study. I’m constantly looking for basic and advanced striking tutorials, new techniques, footwork drills, partner drills and other training methods on the internet and on TH-cam. This includes watching professional fighters train with their coaches on TH-cam ( like Dewey cooper, Floyd Mayweather sr etc.). And taking notes. Put an emphasis on learning why each step of any technique is important. (Side note Fran Sands TH-cam channel has some decent boxing tips)
2.) be a teacher. In order for me to finding training partners I had to be prepared to train people to be my training partner. I bought focus mitts, heavy bag. Taekwondo pads and plan to buy Muay Thai pads. I’ve learned how to hold the pads and learned combinations which u can find on TH-cam. Ask anyone who likes working out to come over and trying with you. Teach the basics and build on it. sometimes I would focus a training day on teaching!!! Over time you have someone to do partner drills with you and hold pads too!!!! For example, my brother holds the mitts for me and my friend does light sparring and partner striking drills with me because I taught both of them the basics all from TH-cam and the internet.
.3) don’t give up. Bro I’m passionate what I do! So if you have to do it alone sometimes that’s ok. Also, conditioning is just as important as technique and strategy. keep searching for footwork, conditioning drills and technique drills you can do with a partner or alone. always keep learning.
.4) eventually you will need to find someone certified to teach you. it’s hard to correct your own form and it will make the learning curve much quicker!!!
Good luck bro!!!!!! In fact if u can keep in touch with me on TH-cam and we can share knowledge on here.
