      That'd be awesome but imagine your own coach doing that when you're fighting at the highest level. Hopefully it doesn't happen

      The coach himself is a badass, so could be possible. Here's a fight video of him:

    Mr Ludwig,
    I've been watching this sport for quite some time, I recall watching the early UFC's with my old man and I certainly remember watching the quickest knock out ever :D
    What I'd like to say is; for some weird reason, I'm proud of you and how you continue to re-definine success after succeeding time and time again, it's not fortune or luck - you have ripped your way through stiff competition every single time as a fighter and indeed a coach...
    If this is the Martial Arts then you are one of the greatest artists to have ever lived.
    Thank you for the journey...
    P.s. Thanks for the tips, really helps me lawn spar my friends, keep them coming ha

    Wish I could train there...

  • @MegaTeeruk
    @MegaTeeruk 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Man, I'd love to train there. I've recently converted from boxing to MMA (neither near a professional level) and the differences in footwork are very challenging. In boxing we never had to worry about weight distribution on our lead foot so we could check kicks etc. There is just so much more to consider. I'm finding some success with a wide, low stance but very much still a work in progress.

    • @sulaimaanlatif6471
      @sulaimaanlatif6471 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same man , just wondering have you tried muay thai yet or a grappling art?

    • @MegaTeeruk
      @MegaTeeruk 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sulaimaan Latif Right now I'm doing Judo, hybrid striking training (it is MMA specific striking that steals from lots of disciplines), and jujitsu. No wrestling yet. I'm doing pretty well at jujitsu mainly because I am really good at gaining leverage and getting higher than my opponent. Striking I am great with my hands and do well with my leg kicks but coming out of high kicks I am always out of position. If I miss with a high kick in a non-sparring match I'm going to get beheaded because I am always wide open and slightly off balance. Really struggling there.

    • @sulaimaanlatif6471
      @sulaimaanlatif6471 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brandon May how long did you train boxing for before transitioning to MMA, also how long did it take for you to incorporate kicks into your game? Good luck in your journey aswell man hope you do well👍

    • @MegaTeeruk
      @MegaTeeruk 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sulaimaan Latif Well, I'm older and train MMA not to be a competitive fighter but because I have the curse of all aging athletes, the curse to endlessly push to our breaking point. I boxed for 18 years mostly at heavyweight (I bounce between 240 and 250). I'm not very tall, 6'0, and don't have great reach so being a technical boxer was never in the cards for me - I'm a tank type fighter. I get in tight and have a lot of power, especially to the body, and a ton of head movement ala Joe Frazier. That is a style a fighting and a style of movement that does not translate well to kicking especially not high. The trouble with lots of head movement is you are real heavy on your front foot which makes checking kicks tough and also means you telegraph your own kicks. I'm finding some success with low heel kicks because they are so short and low that I don't telegraph them as much. I can do a lead leg mid push kick but generally only if I am distracting with my jab. When I go high though its a disaster. Long story short I don't know that kicks beyond leg kicks will ever be a great weapon for me. I need to be inside in the clinch to really be effective.
      How long have you been training?

    • @sulaimaanlatif6471
      @sulaimaanlatif6471 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brandon May been doing boxing for about 3 years and muay thai for a year and jiu jitsu and wrestling on the side but only occasionally. I'm 17 now but finding it hard to mix everything together especially the kicks with my wide stance. I'm a welterweight but I'm about 6"1 so I usually have a longer reach than my opponents which when combined with the boxing is a good tool to have.

    I decided this is my new style I've taken all different kinds of styles from Taekwondo to Kung Fu San Soo JKD which I love a lot an American Kenpo plus a black belt in Judo sprinkle quite a few years of boxing off and on in and a little jiu jitsu and I thought I knew what I was doing but this is my new favorite striking Style so I'm going to put it all into just this

    Fair play to TJ I’m a Cody fan and he just needs to stay more composed and not throw every punch with the intent to ko the opponent and just to pressure them and eventually make them crack like he did in the Cruz fight at 207 but well done to TJ but Cody will be back

    • @kenpachizaraki4184
      @kenpachizaraki4184 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think Cody's composure has to do with his loss as much as TJ's team planing their fight around his flaws. Whether Cody was composed or not, he's always had his tendency to drop his guard when throwing hooks and TJ gamplaned for it perfectly.

    • @happydays6649

      Urnan Cody was emotional and fired up going into the Cruz fight . It's not his emotions. It's the technique
