  • Callisto moon of a gas giant Jupiter. It is one of the most ancient places in the solar system. So then what would standing on this old and large moon be like? Watch the video to find out.
    Idea for ''Standing on'' Inspired by theVendor101.

    Seems to be one of the best objects in solar system for a mining operations and refueling, which means it would be overall a good place for colonization.
    Pluto and Eris seem also they could very well act as fueling stations too.

    If asteroids have been bombarding the surface for billions of years, and the surface have been dead for just as long, they should all still be there. So the moon is outside Jupiter's radiation belt, it has plenty of water in the form of ice, and there should be a lot of metals and minerals around in the form of asteroids. Sounds like a great place to build a human base. They could make caves inside the "montains", which would protect them from cosmic particles.

    Great video. I have a question. Why is it that Callisto has brighter spots? What caused them?

    • @manw3bttcks
      @manw3bttcks 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Brighter areas on moons and planets usually means it's a younger surface. On the Moon there are rays that are lighter because they they are ejected material from craters. It takes radiation from the Sun some time to darken the material. Callisto is the same way, lighter areas are the more recent craters.

  • @channelsixtysix066
    @channelsixtysix066 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    One thing to be said, I'd rather be standing on Callisto, rather than Io. Aside from dying of Jupiter's radiation, you are likely to be cooked by Io's volcanic activity caused by Jupiter trying to pull it apart. There's no point in discussing manned missions to other parts of the solar system, when we haven't even been back to Luna, for near 50 years.

    Honestly i think that would be the smartest move because callisto may also be colonized since yeah sure it may or may not have an Ozone But that doesnt mean that we can't make one ourself right? Even if it takes longer than mars still sounds worth it to me with our help we can make callisto a very nice vacation moon/planet it unlocks more directions to look at into space that we may have missed from the earth & moon

    There is no boundary between "dead" and "alive". For instance: Are viruses dead? Are bacteria alive? Viruses are chemical reactions after all, just what happens in the rocks of Callisto, just a bit more complex. Viruses are part of bacteria and also part of us. Everything is connected. So, you could also say: Callisto is beautiful and alive!
