Yes, Io is somewhat swept to the side for any kind of exploration mission, but that's only because we basically have it completely figured out. It's a simple moon to understand, and as you said, it would be more interesting to find out what kind of impact it has on the rest of the Jovian system. Europa, however, is a moon we DON'T have figured out. Next to Titan, I'd say it's the most mysterious celestial body in the solar system, which is why it is such a prime target for an exploratory mission. And boy, am I excited for when you make that video!

@@pixelbucket8884 Its not that graphically intensive, you can get a decent experience with a mid-range graphics card for the most part, assuming you're running it at 1080p. It's really CPU intensive though, I would recommend at least a Ryzen 5 or i5 8400, otherwise the "game" (if you can call it that) will stutter all the time, specially when travelling really fast through the galaxy or exploring the surface of procedurally generated planets, and that can get really annoying.
Io and the other Galilean moons are wonderful to watch through binoculars. If you sketch their positions relative to Jupiter over the course of a night you can see how much they move. Those things really move fast!
Io has always been one of my favourite astronomical bodies because of how utterly harsh the conditions are. Your video does an excellent job of illustrating this. I love science fiction with a well written environmental theme and that's why, after watching the film on Netflix, I was so annoyed it made me want to punch anything that moved for about an hour. It's one of the last places anyone would want to colonize in our solar system. The Earth's atmosphere is too toxic?...Yeah?! DON'T GO TO IO!!! So humanity leaves Earth while entire regions of the planet are still habitable, passing our Moon, Mars, hundreds of large known icy Rocky bodies in the asteroid belt to fly to an irradiated fireball on the other end of the solar system. The metaphorical equivalent would be of burning yourself in the kitchen, deciding your house is dangerous and flying thousands of miles away to jump in an active volcano just to be safe. Sorry...rant over, I don't know how movies like that get funding.

I watch Destiny videos and play Destiny 2 all the time, so I was really expecting this be an a Destiny video too. A surprise to say the least, but a welcome one.
I mean, it's volcanic activity is actively caused by gravitational strain. Compare that with moons like Ganymede, and planets like mars, and io is alot more 'alive' because of Jupiter.
Io has been such an interesting subject to learn about during my many years of having astronomy as a hobby. Its serenade of death mixed with the absolutely picturesque properties of its volcanoes and barren green planes wows me every time I have laid eyes one it. Yeah that was a cool film, loved Connery in it. Hard to find but I found it free streaming online. Basically made before there was a lot of information released on it... back when the movie was made it was basically assumed that it was basically a copy of Earth's Moon. Then we discovered that Io had gigantic volcanoes and then the next question was "HOW?" because bodies as small as Io and our Moon cooled off from their formation billions of years ago and can't sustain the kind of heat needed for any type of large-scale volcanic activity from their formation to the current time, thus turned "cold and dead" billions of years ago, at least according to 'standard theory' of the time. The tidal heating model came about to explain Io's intense volcanism when theoretically it shouldn't be possible. We also learned about the plasma torus and other gigantic magnetic effects and radiation belts formed by the interaction of Io and Jupiter's magnetic field, which is basically SO intense that landing on Io or Europa would be about like camping out under the core of a nuclear reactor at full power, radiation exposure-wise... IOW, you'd be dead in minutes from fatal radiation exposure, which means NO, we won't be visiting Io anytime in the foreseeable future, and we won't be mining it, either. Other than sulfur compounds and silicates, there's probably little of value there anyway, and we can get that stuff nearly anywhere, certainly in FAR more hospitable environments than Io. Europa, while an interesting world in terms of potential habitability of its deep salt-water ocean beneath its miles-thick ice crust, which would be shielded from the nuclear-reactor-like radiation levels that bombard the icy surface of Europa due to being immersed in Jupiter's massive radiation belts... Any humans visiting Europa would literally have to get deep under the ice in a matter of minutes to avoid fatal radiation exposure on the surface. Ganymede and Callisto, being further out, are outside Jupiter's massive radiation belts and thus are far more suitable for a manned landing at some point, perhaps even as bases for teleoperation of robotic missions on Io or Europa, using robotic vehicles specifically hardened to survive the extreme radiation environment... It’s not possible to find the voltage of such currents due to us not knowing the length of the arcs and IOS atmospheric conductivity, but I’d assume it’s also extremely high

Yeah that was a cool film, loved Connery in it. Hard to find but I found it free streaming online. Basically made before there was a lot of information released on it... back when the movie was made it was basically assumed that it was basically a copy of Earth's Moon. Then we discovered that Io had gigantic volcanoes and then the next question was "HOW?" because bodies as small as Io and our Moon cooled off from their formation billions of years ago and can't sustain the kind of heat needed for any type of large-scale volcanic activity from their formation to the current time, thus turned "cold and dead" billions of years ago, at least according to 'standard theory' of the time. The tidal heating model came about to explain Io's intense volcanism when theoretically it shouldn't be possible. We also learned about the plasma torus and other gigantic magnetic effects and radiation belts formed by the interaction of Io and Jupiter's magnetic field, which is basically SO intense that landing on Io or Europa would be about like camping out under the core of a nuclear reactor at full power, radiation exposure-wise... IOW, you'd be dead in minutes from fatal radiation exposure, which means NO, we won't be visiting Io anytime in the foreseeable future, and we won't be mining it, either. Other than sulfur compounds and silicates, there's probably little of value there anyway, and we can get that stuff nearly anywhere, certainly in FAR more hospitable environments than Io. Europa, while an interesting world in terms of potential habitability of its deep salt-water ocean beneath its miles-thick ice crust, which would be shielded from the nuclear-reactor-like radiation levels that bombard the icy surface of Europa due to being immersed in Jupiter's massive radiation belts... Any humans visiting Europa would literally have to get deep under the ice in a matter of minutes to avoid fatal radiation exposure on the surface.
Ganymede and Callisto, being further out, are outside Jupiter's massive radiation belts and thus are far more suitable for a manned landing at some point, perhaps even as bases for teleoperation of robotic missions on Io or Europa, using robotic vehicles specifically hardened to survive the extreme radiation environment...
