Dogs can actually see colour, just not as much as we can, for example: they can see both yellow and blue but they can’t see any shade of red, so purple, red, orange etc cannot be seen by dogs, instead they see them in other colors, that’s why dogs can’t differentiate between the green of the grass and a red ball inside, for it, the ball looks green as well.

When I was young we were real poor, we had a second TV that was an old black and white one that we hooked our SNES up to since mom and dad did not want us playing video games on the main TV when they wanted to watch things. Um, no. Monochrome means that one and only one color is used. From ancient Greek: "mónos" meaning one and "khrôma" meaning color. One color.
