There's simply nothing from Brené Brown that I find boring. She presents the most beautiful, down to earth methods for growth, change and leadership...then gives firsthand experience and perspective.
She is, without a doubt, one of my top 5 role models in life.

what I love about Brene Brown is that when she talks, she's not afraid to STOP and think before she speaks. And that makes the whole thing so human especially when there are questions that are so deep and very difficult to answer. She doesn't make vulnerability sound easy because it is not easy to be vulnerable. And I love her for that.
And this video is beyond awesome! Why did I just find this channel now!!!

I too love how she stops to think about her answer, I have a son like that, he thinks of every syllable before he speaks, some people have asked me is he slow, ah no, he just t h i n k s about what he is going to say, it really reminds me of Brene.

"Its beautiful to be alone. To be alone does not mean to be lonely. it means the mind is not influenced and contaminated by society.' J-K . There is a vast strength in being alone and it has nothing to do with being isolated and feeling lonely. Loneliness is entirely different from aloneness. That loneliness must be passed to be alone. Loneliness is not comparable with aloneness. The man who knows loneliness can never know that which is alone. And love can only flourish from a mind who knows how to stand alone! I love this woman !!! Beautiful video !! thankx

the funny thing about this is, for the last 2-3 years I would think to myself, "Brene Brown is the one person in the world that I would most love to sit down with to help me understand everything mostly including myself".......this conversation was everything I needed that I would have gotten from that private one on one with her. These are the questions Im wrestling with along with others Im sure, but kind of delivered in the most timely divine way to me .....

Yes, on the other hand, I can't stand being out with people who are laughing at ignorant and mean jokes, or someone shaming someone. So, I have isolated. I need to find my way back. LOVE this. And so grateful to connect with what I love about art. To hear art be appreciated and its power and role acknowledged, in a time when it's being near eliminated from school curriculums, and basically considered a luxury, something separate from daily life. Creativity and expression are part and parcel of what it is to be human.

It took me a long time to figure out why I wanted to start a youtube channel and share my challenge videos. And just recently I started to understand that it has got a lot, if not all to do with what Brene Brown stands for: "vulnerability is power" - "daring greatly" - "step into the arena and get dirty".
I call it "the behind the scenes". I might do a challenge on waking up early for a month, but I'm not so much interested in strategies as I am in what it does to my psyche and to me as a person. And I love sharing that, because, aren't we all Human. Isn't it always so comforting to see someone else being Human as well ;-) And than we call it BRAVE. You are so brave for being you, for being honest and showing the less "perfect" parts of the journey. And I'm like: OF COURSE, that is the only place where it is actually INTERESTING ;-) That is where all humans can finally meet each other. :-)
    Quite passionate about that! :-D

Really loved the part about being OK all by yourself to be able to really be open to others, thanks for that. I'm just now (after watching the three Brené Brown interviews, reading "Emotional Intelligence" and a slew of other stuf on the matter) starting to realise just how terrible I am at "being human". I don't mean that I absolutely despise myself, but that I have just fallen into so many bad habits (first and foremost being self-centred) that keep me from developing meaningful relationships. I'm really grateful to the friends I have for doing all the heavy lifting that went into that friendship. Much to learn...

Don’t give up on it. Maybe try doing something for others, there you will find people also trying to serve others. More than likely that will lead to the kind of crowd who are interested in meaningful connections and being kind to others 💕💛
You are worth having good meaningful connections, and going through the process of finding your crowd is a very vulnerable place -but that courage is necessary to show up and find what you’re looking for. You can do it!

For me, it happened with myself, being with just me, referencing everything thru how I feel ... And other connections are there but the first and primary one remains with me. Meditation plays a big part but it's more than that, it's valuing everything about myself, my life, first and not seeking anything concrete from others

Been looking forward to this since the sneak peek on Facebook Live.
Speaking to your question to Brene about being a big personality, I think you should be unapologetically you. I think you should have the audacity of authenticity and be okay with it. You should be who you are and you belong to yourself. You are the wilderness and it will make some people uncomfortable but if you come out to the wilderness, you'll find some of us like you that love you for who you are and exactly for everything that you are. Take up space Chase! There is space out here in the world that only you can take up, and that the world will miss out if you don't.

I think this is one of the best interviews I’ve heard overall, and especially of Brene Brown! Thank you Jarvis for this most revealing and insightful interview. I’m reading this in 2019 a year after it was recorded. This country is in worse shape than ever as far as people not communicating with each other, as she put it were huddled down in our bunkers one side against the other. It never used to be like this we (I) used to be able to discuss issues with my neighbors, with my friends! Now everything is so polarized, it is we all pretend that everything is OK, but everything is not OK! This is a very dark time in this country, and I hope people realize this! Let’s hope there’s a light at the end of the tunnel!

This was so amazing -- I can't comment on just one topic cause there were so many. The last question -- what brings joy - for me right now, watching this video brought me joy.

OMG. This spoke to me when these two talked about the worth of my creative art at minute 39. I have worked as a graphic artist for 15 years for a small business that tears every part of my work down, and then says things like, "*eyeroll* artists are so touchy" when I resist. I get paid less than half the national average for someone in my field, yet l feel like my life circumstances (disabled daughter) have trapped me in this position. As a result I have become terrified to put my own creative work out there and have been stuck in a slump with my graphic art, photography and painting. I agree to do so much pro-bono work chasing approval that I get buried and no longer get any joy from the creative part. I really have to do something about this cycle.

Believing that you are worth more than you value yourself at this point... If you don't believe you are worth the investment, who will?! It starts there. And regarding getting swamped in work that you actually end up despising: "no" is a full sentence 😅

Hahahaa! Brene' I was raised in Missouri and heard "stuck in my craw" all of my life, but... please let me share my one of my Mother's (may she rest in peace) profound sayings about people who wanted to attempt to entice bad feelings in others about themselves and that was "Girl, you just have to let those people go ahead and chew off their own arms and legs, that's their choice if they wish to live only as a head and a torso" Soon they'll have to hire someone to pull them around in a wagon and if they keep chewing; no matter how old they are, they will eventually fit" HAHAHAA!

Love the video, love the message. I get stuck at lie I was told as a child, which disables me from my full potential. It often baffles me as to why. It surely is a process, I am learning to resolve the lies in an envirnment, which is safe for me to test. Afterwards, homeward bound... Texas, USA. How I miss home, such a strong reason to drive to resolution. I guess it is a Texas thing.

Thank you for bringing this into the open. At c42mins - the reality of pro bono work and the resentment it generates. So true. Every time.
