I always like the 6 stormtroopers over 3 shores 3 mortars its the same point cost and while the mortars are good. I prefer having more mobile units to go around and get to the objectives. Also the surge to hit on the storms is really good. Especially if you equip some of your squads with grenades.
Something I couldn’t figure out is does the mortar have the ability to fire over terrain at a unit without line of sight? Or does it still have to follow vision requirements?
@@TeamRelentless is that true if it’s being used as fire support? Does fire support use get to target the squad out of sight as long as the attacking friendly squad has the sight line required? Also me and friends are new to the game. Where’s the best place to learn how the minis work with each other? The base rules seem to be lacking specifics
@@LegionFan Fire Support also requires line of sight, yes. And you’re probably just using the Learn to Play rules, which are intentionally incomplete. The Rules Reference is available online and is the complete version. I’d recommend joining either the Facebook Legion group or the Discord (or both). There are tons of great resources shared in those places consistently. The Fifth Trooper has-I think-got the most up to date learn to play video. With incredibly strong strike teams coming out for them shortly, they’re going to be just fine. :) And once they get inexpensive commanders... whoo boy! Even now, they’re very good. My teammate TalkPolite, who I tied for third with, ran Double the Fall (CIS).

We at Team Relentless would all like to see Stormtroopers make a comeback in the competitive scene. They should be the Empire’s bread and butter!

Unlike a real mortar, it needs line of sight just like any other ranged attack.

What battle deck did you end up going with for your 13-Act Bossk list?
Deployments: Battle Lines, The Long March, Major Offensive, Advanced Positions
Objectives: Sabotage the Moisture Vaporators, Key Positions, Intercept the Transmissions, Breakthrough
Conditions: Rapid Reinforcements, Minefield, Hostile Environment, Clear Conditions
Post-VA I’m not sure what (if anything) I’ll change.

What were you going to run?
11 activation triple TTs with a landspeeder took it to fake worlds and went well crashed out with fatigue though
It's fun to see how outdated all of this info is in 2022. Shore troopers are still op but Ewebs, scout troopers and storm troopers are garbage.
