Hi Craig. Thanks for watching the video. One of my greatest memories is standing on the Filton runway with thousands of my fellow aircraft workers when the first British Concorde took off for the very first time.
This Concorde visited Christchurch New Zealand on a charter flight April 1989 I remember having the opportunity to look onboard it prior to losing a section of the rudder enroute CHC to SYD
I worked in Filton for 25 years and it was a real shame to see the plane left on the runway. Things are now better and a tribute to everybody who worked on the plane
How can they build on the runway. Knowing concorde use to take off build there on the whole airfield really it not right really. The best passenger plane in the world
Thanks for this video! It’s a great exhibit - its lovely to see her so looked after and restored so well. The light show and exhibitions look great - I really will have to visit. Thx again for the overview of the exhibit 😊
Concord was an engineering marvel. If it wasn't for the demand of massive commercial air travel at cheaper rates, the Concord would still be flying today.
It would still be flying today if aerospatial hadn’t pulled the plug on supplying spares. There was a healthy appetite to want to still fly in this plane in the UK as of 2003, not so much in France.
Flew on this actual aircraft as BA273/27/02/1988. London Heathrow/Shannon/Barbados Incredible experience and flight. Powerful take off at London Heathrow and amazing flight and service. Seat 20B Mach2.2 1350mph 65,000 ft. Magnificent aircraft.
Hi David Thanks for watching the video. I worked at Filton and was on the runway when the first Concord took to the skys. I envy you your flight in the aircraft. It's a great pity they are still not flying today Regards, west country scenes
I rmember loving trips to JFK for years just to watch her depart.

What an aircraft. Ahead of its time. Real shame it was decommissioned.
I saw this when it was just out, being left to be abandoned and I saw it being moved. This is due to me living in Filton
