I work at a footlocker an often we have some customers (not all elderly but most of them) with either a disability or a dexterity problem who experience difficulty putting their sneakers on. This could be a game changer for so many of those people

I’m 48 and it’s kinda embarrassing for me to try shoes on in public to be honest. Most of the time I don’t tie the shoes I am trying on. I never tie my Jordans anyway so that no big deal but any other shoe...it can be a mess.

These shoes have revolutionised my life. I’m disabled, in a wheelchair and have been unable to get my own shoes on (let alone laced) for almost a year (I have a degenerative condition) and if I had to go out at any point in the day I would have to get my bottom half dressed and have one of my kids put my shoes on for me before they leave for school so you would have me sitting in bed with my shoes on at 7.30am for a 3pm appointment. I couldn’t get slippers on anymore to protect my feet around the house, essential when you can’t feel them!
I now just feel so free, I don’t have to plan going out somewhere around if there would be somebody to put my shoes on.
Not only are they amazing tool for independence but they also look good (I have the black with white detailing and gold on the soles), I can wear a fashionable shoe that fits fantastically and has given back some of my independence.

It’s so great that all these famous people get to unbox these shoes! I mean that’s what disabled people want right? They just want to see popular people wear them and not be able to buy them themselves. Not to mention the teens who are disabled and their families who can’t afford these shoes because we have to pay for things that non disabled kids never have to think about like wheelchair, meds, attorneys for IEP’s, modified clothing, doctors visits, specialty cab rides to and from doctor appts.

My biggest worry was how long they would last. I have had mine for a year and half. They still fit snug and the tread is still good. They are the most comfortable shoe I have owned. I work at a grocery store and on my feet 8 hours a day. I didn't realize how comfortable they are until I heard a co-worker complaining about how sore their feet are. I have an autoimmune disease called AS(Ankylosing spondylitis) basically my spine is fusing together. It was getting harder and harder to tie my shoes. This shoe really makes a difference for me. I have all white ones and they are tough to keep clean. I have watched youtube videos and they help a little. The mesh is just hard to get clean.

I just got a pair. I was super happy to get them ordered I have mild cerebral palsy and have difficulty tying shoes with laces. Only bad thing is the Support isn’t the best and runs a bit big in my opinion

Good 411 for it being designed to assist the disabled, as I thought it was for people who just couldn't be bothered with laces and wanted different looking slip-ons.

Love the concept. But how long will that band last I mean one accidental cut will it render it? Also the part that moves looks like a magnet for lots of small stones and dirt to get in.🤔

Appreciate the info Seth. This is 100 times better than a pair of crocs or walking out in slides. No disrespect... It just provides coverage from weather and the elements. Similar to why people wear slip on vans. Can't be too nit picky... its a great design that I'm sure will improve.

i was actually mad at this shoe for a long while. i ended up with GBS back in november 2022. after PT and other treatments i needed a sneaker to easily put on and take off. me, being a sneaker head automatically looked at the fly ease line. i wanted these sneakers and could not for the life of me find a pair in my size for at max 120 usd. i was so furious, like seriously i legit need this type of sneaker and nike cant deliver? i ended up settling for another flyease but i was so frustrated that i couldnt get a pair. these were perfect but with piling up medical bills i could never justify the 100 dollar mark up.

If you keep stepping on the heel when taking off the shoes the heel tab where you step will turn black and dirty very fast. Maybe they shou,d colour the tab black so that it won’t be so obvious when it is dirty.

Whens the black colourway shown dropping? I see Nike now have a black/white/gum, but not that double black shown??
(edit) I've now been wearing a pair of these Go FlyEase regular for 9 months. All day wear, long walks, running errands, chores, gardening, driving, everything. I can confirm none of Seths comments re the Living Hinge fatiguing or splitting has happened to me. The rubber band has not stretched. Nothing has collapsed. My Fly GoEase still wear like day one.
They are a robust build, quite overbuilt in many ways, and so therefore quite heavy for a lifestyle sneaker. My only issue has been inside the sneaker in the heal cup - the 1000's and 1000's of times slipping the sneaker on and off has meant the fabric padding on one of the shoes has worn down, but this could just be down to the way i walk as it's only one shoe.
A really good shoe very well implemented by Nike. I hope Nike make a mark 2 just with a lighter bouncier midsole.

I'd be interested to know how long that hinge and the elastic band will last? How many on/off motions. I'm assuming Nike did the "IKEA" test.
