To practice fly around the test range using the little bird with 25mm cannons and pretend the trees are little groups of enemy soldiers as they are A LOT like trying to take out an enemy soldier because you have to be very accurate (more so than you would think) and there's so many on the range that it REALLY is a lot like a combat scenario. Use them as such, pretend they have rocket launchers and dart to cover to reload to protect yourself and use the building to hide and pull fake out moves as if you're trying to fake them out so they don't know which side you'll pop out - and from time to time do 2-3 low altitude laps around the road circling the island flying as close to the road as possible - to the extent that it nearly looks like you're a car driving on the road.

I only say to use it on test range because it forces you to be accurate because you can only get a few bursts off before having to reload which thereby forces you (if you use your imagination properly and you're in the right mind set) into feeling like "i HAVE to get this shot off; not only do i HAVE to get it off i HAVE to do it as accurately as possible whilst keeping the engagement as short and sweet as possible to minimize being exposed and vaunerable to nearbye enemies with launchers" sort of feeling that you get in an actual game scenario because you can't just fly around spraying a constant stream of bullets - you get give or take 33 and you have to make each of them count. I hope that makes sense i don't know any other way to explain it. I'm not saying using anything else on Test Range isn't helpful i'm simply stating why i choose to use these 9 out of 10 times.

I have been watching the full video, 5 minutes later i was in the test range of Bf4 on Ps3 and try to Remember everything you have said, after at least 3 hours spending time in the test range to figure everything out i decided to put the things i have learned from your video into real battle,
It actually helped me so much that i can now fly a chopper properly and take out targets while strafing or with missiles,
Thanks so much for this video and i have shared it for a buddy of mine who also has troubles flying choppers,

I think one more tactics is worth mentioning, when you have your friend with u in a scout chopper, u have 25mm cannons and laser guided(vehicle setup) and he has 7.62mm and heatseekers(air setup). when the heli comes up, u just simply change seats, your friend has better chance against him with his loadout, when the tank rolls up, he can't even do damage to him, u change seats next time and u can take down whatever vehicle appears(u even have chance against attack boat). this combo can be used on every map as u are prepared for all types of combat u can run into.

That display across the top that you referred to as the tilt/pitch is actually for the axis of movement know in the aviation world as 'roll'. Just thought you'd like to know for future videos. Knowledge is power. Great video by the way. I'm a seasoned Battlefield pilot and I found some of the information in here extremely helpful.
Pitch, Roll, Yaw are the three that make up axial movements in an aircraft.
Pitch is used to the describe the up and down movement of the aircraft on a horizontal plain. Don't thing of it in altitude, but more of the angle of the airframe in relation to that same horizontal plain. A good way to visualize this concept is to take your hand and imagine a piece of string is going from the first knuckle on your thumb through the hand and to the first knuckle on your pinkie, limiting your vertical movement, instead your hand can change angle in relation to that piece of string. This is pitch.
Roll is used to describe the angle of the aircraft in relation to a vertical plain. As above, take that same piece of imaginary string and move it to the top of your middle finger and through your hand to your wrist, again limiting your vertical axis of movement, AS WELL AS your pitch now. Now, you are free to tilt the edges of your hand down and up in relation to that vertical plain created by that imaginary piece of string. This is roll.
Yaw is used to describe to side to side motion of the nose of the aircraft. Again, same piece of imaginary string, but this time put it directly down through the top of your hand. While you are now free to move vertically, it will cut off the pitch and roll. Now you can move the tips of your fingers from side to side without 'pitching' or 'rolling'. This is Yaw.
Source: I've been working on Huey and Cobra helicopters for a couple years as an avionics tech. We deal with this shit weekly in some way or another and it's fucking annoying.
I hope that someone finds this useful, as I realize that I can be really horrible at explaining things sometime. If it's hard to understand then I'm sure there's a video somewhere about it. Yes I'm aware that string is easy to manipulate, but humor me alright?

Only thing that stops me from flying helos all the time is amount of AA on the maps. I think DICE should tone it down a bit. Especially AA tanks are ridiculous. Active radar missiles should be removed from game as these are basically free kills without any skill whatsoever.

Watched the whole thing. Very well done. I knew most of the info because I have watched just about every tutorial on TH-cam, but still picked up a couple things. XB360 player here. I have the flying mechanics down, but still having trouble aiming the guns, so have trouble finishing off other choppers and getting kills on infantry. I'm switching back to the small guns, and I think my main problem is not leading the targets. Going to try as you suggested. Thanks for sharing. Keep 'em coming!

Fly low and laterally for the most part, using the main strength of this weapons platform, while going straight forward sparingly as this makes a heli the most vulnerable. When avoiding heat-seekers go straight up while popping flares, and when avoiding bullets go really low.

What you said about taking out chopper pilots who fly too low reminded me of one game back in BF3; it was Nosahr (or Noshar?) Canal conquest on 360. The US gets 2 scout helis and they were both flying really low and slow. I hopped in a T90 and in the span of about 30 seconds took both down, only 1 shot each

One trick to control the skies (and little bit of the ground):
Miniguns are the best aa weapons in the whole game. If the enemy has heatseekers, take cover behind anything that you can go around and wait for your enemy come to hunt you down. Start going around the cover so the enemy will start flying at higher speeds what makes him more vulnerable. When he is chasing you, turn and start moving up and down and firing your miniguns. If you are good with aiming, you should be able to deal 30-50 damage before he stops. Move up and down to be as hard target as possible and keep firing.
Got 2600 kills with the scout helos ;)

Many people don't like the idea of WW1 warefare, I personally am not hype for BF1 despite it being a new game, I like modern war fare (not cod)

I just watched the whole video. I'm not that great at Battlefield, but I'm slowly getting better. Choppers on the other hand are an entirely different beast and while I'm getting a little proficient at least with flying, my aim sucks when it comes to firing on targets. Love how you broke everything down on all aspects of helicopters.

That is par for the course and will come with time. Aiming is the difficult part because you're trying to micromanage so much information hitting you at once; all while trying to keep the chopper in the air and at the correct height. When you get to the point where flying itself isn't something you have to be very conscious of, aiming tends to fall in like quickly.

My friends and the people in my platoon have an inside joke whenever I get into a chopper and fly as I'm actually legally blind, but can do most things a normal sighted person can do. I always have thermal optics for tanks, attack helos and boats, but when actually piloting a chopper, it does get a little hard to spot some things.
I also learned a few things in your tank video, some of which I already knew before watching it, but was always nice to get a little more information on employing certain tactics while operating a tank. I'm almost at the point where I can just easily drive and fire at the same time without having to drive off in a panic when I'm under fire.
Really like and appreciate all the videos you've posted as well as the information you've provided. Look forward to seeing more in the future!

Great tutorial. Any tips on taking on a jet in a helicopter? I've found that attack jets can usually destroy a helicopter in one pass using their cannons before you have time to fight back or get behind something.

What I‘ve found work pretty well is when u sneak up to a enemy heli from above or behind, try and get really close for ur heatseakers! when u shoot them from really close they wont have the reaction to deploy their counter even if they have ecm ready
an ld then get some altitute and distance and finish them of with ur 2ndary gun

TH-cam doesn't like controversial figures that give you opinions (for the most part). The biggest channels were already big before starting to post their opinions, or they stick to facts. I'm not that kind of person. I'm still kind of surprised that my channel has gotten to this point.

    • @LBSmoove507

PICK_6_TOUCHDOWN i disagree, you seem to have a perfect balance between opinion and fact. If it were all opinion, no one would care. All fact and people get bored. Give it time man, all 15k+ subscribers got ur back and we'll help you grow this channel.

Scout heli and what It works for me... I use 7.62miniguns/ laser guided/ and heavily depend on proximate scan for both survival and as a tactical mean and this is why.
    Who should use this setting?
If you are an aggressive poilot, can and regularly fly low, proximity scan can provide tactical advantages which you get from any other options offered by scout hell. This setting is for more advance pilots and I really see players use it.
    Proximity vs Stealth
    - If your opponent have stealth, you'll know where they are on your mini map in close range fights and they don't. U are not using heat sikers with makes their stealth worthless.
    Proximity vs Air radar
    - Once air radar is locked on to you, you'll know where attacking heli is.
    - Try to get close to your enemy during the time ECM jammers allow you to be.
    - If you are close enough to the other heli who uses radar he/she will be at this advantage compare to you. Because proxity scan allows you to locate the other aircraft precisely while air radar is just a total mess.
    Proximity vs Belt feeder
    - Suggestion: Don't waste your bullets when your aim is not on target.
    - Proximity brings more advantages/fun to your game than wasted bullet could have.
    Proximity vs infantry
    - There is a good reason why we bring dogs along for hunting.
    - Proximity scan also provide intel for your mate on the ground.
    - You should try proximity scan ONLY after you've learned to clear sky with 7.62 minigun

I highly recommend trying zunis for a little while. It wrecks helicopters like they're butter. Although use the thought process that they're snipers, don't spam them or you'll run out. Now I'm on ps4 so I'm not as accurate as you can be so you might be able to better. As well as this I always use the tow missile. Though this is because I'm always in conversation with my gunner, who I trust and has gunned for me for months. Using the anti ground set up that I use the gunner is crucial. So I hope this helped haha great vid didn't need it I was already amazing but you covered EVERYTHING. And it's nice to see a video that actually goes into extreme detail. SUBSCRIBED :P
