    There was this one time when a lot of enemies were all lined up looking over the edge of the building, i took my time and got to shoot every single one of them one by one, i was surprised none of them jumped or moved away, they were so oblivious for some reason, it was like picking off sitting ducks one by one, it was the most memorable sniping experience ever lol

    Sniping in battlefield- learn the bullet drop, relocate when you're spotted, get used to the scopes, learn the behavior of the guns...
    Sniping in cod- just shoot thats all.

      +Thomas Rey i still dont get why they have snipers in a game like that where the average confrontation with an enemy is usually withing 50 meters

      Chandler Orrell i know but the main issue is the implementation of quickscoping. i know snipers would be very hard to use without it but THEY ARE RANGED WEAPONS. Its like giving shotguns the range of a sniper in bf because maps are bigger.. makes no sence

    • @qui-gonjinn6060
      @qui-gonjinn6060 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +MadOliveGaming true but quicks coping was invented in mw2 and in bo quick scoping is hard

    • @natehawesvideo
      @natehawesvideo 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Quick scoping was not invented in mw2... It became prevalent in CoD4 but was around even before then.

    It's frustrating on the consoles because players rarely spot enemies. -_-

      i always always spot everything on console and its annoying when others dont i must agree with you

    • @KurwaRomek
      @KurwaRomek 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Sometimes I'd just spot everything for the team with the MAV (and the occasional C4/mines detonation, preferably when half the enemy team and vehicles passed on them) but no one ever showed any gratitude, and even worse, my shit teammates often managed to lose when they had the location of every enemy in real time. Dice should have buffed the spot bonus, you should get at least twice as many points.

    Yours is the style of sniping that I'm working to develop. I am transitioning from CoD 4 on the pc and was a 3+ kd player using mostly bolts, but have dropped to around a 1.5 in bf4. I think the most important thing I can take away from this video is that I'm still rushing my shot too much, thanks for the upload.

  • @MrSheldon01
    @MrSheldon01 11 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I never use the range finder. I was always comfortable with just aiming above the head. Plus today I was called a "hardscoper" in battlefield of all games. Him hating hard scoping so much on a game like battlefield probably explained why he missed every shot. And know this, he was over 100 meters away. Bottom line good video, will keep all of these things in mind and will practice more on the aggressive side as sometimes I make the right decision when faced with close quarters sniping but practise will come in handy when I am forced to do it thanks.

      It isn't needed for Rush or Domination for the most part because your engagements will be under about 200m, which for the FY-JS, M98B and SRR are point and shoot. For longer engagements past 300m or so, I still like having it. The reason being because I'm still not used to the range markers in BF4. In BF3, I knew how far building to building engagements were for the most part, but in BF4, I'm not at that level of experience yet. That's why it helps.

    • @MrSheldon01
      @MrSheldon01 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like to at medium range as I am quite a lot as I play more domination these days. But will try out the range finder more in conquest and rush as it would have been nice in BF3.

    i wish that silencers could be removed and put back on mid-game. just like turning a flashlight on and off, there could be a silencer remove button. I love my close range sniping. My favourite part of the game is getting near an objective, doing some silence sniping, and capturing the objective. But there are times when I need to take someone out from a long range (they are sniping me or a teammate needs help or I just want to do some long range sniping). I really wish this could be a thing. It would make the game so much better

    I'm mainly a recon in Battlefield. I noticed that the way I play with the other classes base off of my play style as a recon. I didn't realize that until I saw this video lol. But near the end, you said to be an aggressive sniper. I personally would recommend to play your own way. I snipe with x20 scopes or higher (if x40, then I'll use variable zoom). I don't know why, but anything lower than that makes me feel uncomfortable. No idea why though. Playing with these scopes obviously puts me in a position where my best choice is to be a passive sniper, since the magnification in the scope will screw up any chances of me actually landing the shot on my enemy and finishing them off with my sidearm. As you stated "you sidearm is you best friend", that is very true lol. I would recommend the G18, for how close it is to an automatic rifle, but again, it's anyone's personal choice. Great video though, really enjoyed the realization it gave me!

    Lots of good tips here. My sniping has greatly improved over the last few weeks. I have way more headshots and my kill to death ratio has gone way up. I rarely get killed by another sniper but I kill snipers easily. My k/d ratio for snipers is probably 15+/1. One thing I would suggest is never sight in or dope your scope. It throws you off cause rarely are targets exactly 200, 300, 400 etc away from you and by the time you dope your scope the target is gone. I also never go prone. Usually in a full Conquest match, I get 30+ kills to 20 deaths and maybe 2 deaths by sniper, mostly from assaults on my position that I was unable to defend or retreat. Thanks for the vids!

    So Im pretty sure I found your channel on a search for a tutorial on how to be a better sniper after watching one of levelcap's sniper reviews. I think it was the M40A5 possibly...anyway Ive really enjoyed your videos and have been able to get a few decent, even accidentally awesome kills lately. Im more comfortable playing Assault or Engineer but Ive been trying to get better on long range shooting. I was really impressed with how well you switched to your sidearm and took out the other 2 guys right around 3:00-3:20 min. on Rogue Transmission - that was some really great shooting. Anyway, I really do appreciate the work you put into these and look forward to watching more.

    Thanks for the video. The tutorials helped me. I've watched the bf3 tutorial awhile back. Bf3 was my first time ever playing any bf so I was a noob then. Over time I've gotten better. I'm still not even close to being an expert but I do hold my own pretty well. I'm one of those people that try to unlock everything assignments scopes battle packs etc for each gun and I worked my way down to the sv98 and at first I didn't like that they don't give you the 8x scope right away and that 7x ballistic scope had me confused for awhile but I've grown to like it especially for aggressive recon. That and the laser scope worked really well. Actually went 22-11. That might be low for some people but like I said I'm no pro but hey if the kills are more than the deaths something is right. And it's because of tutorials like this. Thanks!!

  • @BlàckÐèàth

    RB to spot on Xbox. Down on the DPAD to adjust scope range. Up on the DPAD to switch variable zoom (assuming its equipped in your kit).
    I think the two most valuable points for new snipers 1) map awareness and 2) wait for the target to pause / stop moving before taking the shot. It can be extremely frustrating as a new sniper attempting to hit a moving target so don't waste shots and give away your position doing so.
    Great job on the vid.

    • @PICK_SIX

    I wish they would change the scope view for snipers. Instead of the screen being blacked out in the area not covered by the scope's view, I wish it would just go slightly blurry. That way you could see your peripheral's like in in real life. It would help identifying targets that are flanking you.

    This was really helpful and it made me confirm that i was doing most thing right like not developing patterns when avoiding enemy sniper fire and switching to my side arm in close quarters but whenever I make a kill because I am a long range sniper I always change my positions when I make a kill because they will likely hunt you and also they can see your last couple of movements so I'd move in the opposite direction of where you want to go for at least 10 seconds to throw them off then go your original direction

      Sniping in Rush is a good way to level up, get comfortable with your sniper, and even practice. The maps are smaller which means you should be alert at all times, be ready for anything. There's a server I play that's 24/7 Operation Locker Rush & Conquest, helped me a lot C:

    Once you learn the maps good enough you could move to hardcore. You can still get kills without the minimap if you know the map well because you will know choke points and hot spots like Pick 6 said in his vid. I can play both hardcore and core, but I prefer hardcore because in my eyes it's more realistic to get one-hit-kills more of the time at least. Basically it's not one-hit-kills all the time but it just increase the distance at which you can get them.Btw this helped me a lot Pick 6, I watched you vids in BF3 and now I'm a really good sniper! I get mvp in a regular TDM and my K/D is like 1.85. I own it all to you because you helped me get from MW3 sniping and quickscoping noobs, to getting 1000m+ headshots and going 32 and 4 in TDM and Domination. Thanks man.

    Great video man! Just a little suggestion, people who are watching the video are trying to learn/get better at sniping, right? And they probably won't get the words what you say sometimes since you use sort of technical words, so maybe explain what the word means? :D. I get it, it's just others might not now. Great video though man! :).

  • @ronnieespana6183

    Xbox One (and 360 too i believe) spotting button is Right Bumper
    Playstation 4 spotting button depends on player controls. Default is R1 but players can select to reverse L1/R1 with L2/R2 for "classic" controls. Also on playstation 3 if controls are the same as beta then spotting button is actually R2 and not Select like BFBC2 and BF3
    As for the commenter asking about the mil-dots, I have heard and read a couple different places that they correspond too 100 meters each but when lining up shots in the test range using a Range Finder to get accurate distance it seems to be 250 meters. If someone could test and confirm this a lot of people would be grateful

    • @PICK_SIX
      @PICK_SIX  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're brand new to the FPS scene, then yes, stick to one rifle and scope even if you go through the unlocks. There's no sense in immediately switching rifles if you're having success with the previous unless you feel you're not having success. If that's the case, then switching may actually be beneficial. Once you get to the point of consistency, try using other rifles and scopes. You always have the fall back.

    Great tutorial, man...
    Tbh - I was looking initial values for mouse sensitivity to play with, so finally - found some in this tutorial.
    At first I was skeptical about using your values - it seemed that your mouse sensitivity is wayyyyy off, however, I thought I'll give a shot - and I was really surprised with my performance with SRR-61 (though my favorite is L96) and 8X scope... I was able to pull some really impressive headshots.
    Thanks, mate, your mouse sensitivity settings really worked for me like a charm...
    On that said - I have a question - you said you are using this sensitivity for other classes and vehicles - my question is how do you win fights (i.e. assault class) - when you run and see an enemy on you 9, or 3 o'clock? Also - how do you manage to play with this sensitivity with tanks? I Have found it nearly impossible to turn tower ASAP in all directions.

    • @PICK_SIX
      @PICK_SIX  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First off, with regard to sensitivity, the whole goal, when choosing to use this sensitivity, is to keep engagements in front of you or to the side. If the enemy is behind you, at any point, you've already, or should, lose that fight. Intelligent strategy is far more important than sensitivity, in general.
      For tanks, again, keep them in front or flank. If you need to immediately move to a position behind, it will take longer, but is entirely possible. Every single video you ever see of me playing BF4 will be the same sensitivity.
      In general, the goal should be more intelligent strategy, pillaring, cornering, flanking, and proper frequent reading of the mini map. If you're in situations where you are being shot at from behind, there's a good chance you'll die from being put into that situation regardless.

      PICK_6_TOUCHDOWN
      Thanks for your reply.
      Well a biggest issue I had with this sensitivity in a tank/ifv - was infantry...
      i.e. shanghai map - where streets are very narrow and infantry there is being focused on using c4 against tanks and ifv's. Since I cannot turn my tower so fast to look around (especially on hardcore modes, where you cannot use outside view) - even if I managed to spot enemy behind me - I was not able to turn that fast in order to shoot it with AP shell.
      Aside from that - great sensitivity - works well everywhere else - including jets :)

    good video learnt a lot. however it is not called a 'Silencer' it is called a 'Suppressor' as it suppresses the sound, makes it quieter but their is still a sound, it just cant be heard if you are not in close proximity to it. A silencer would stop the sound from being heard no matter what distance you were from it. However both do create more bullet drop as the stuff inside to either muffle or stop the sound reduce the velocity the bullet can travel because of he friction inside the suppressor/silencer. However the video 10/10.

    When i snipe i use the binoculars to find range on long shots i find it easier than using range finders because 1 range finders need tons of kills to get 2because it has larger view and 3 because it doesn't glint like snipers do making it easier to recon and plan attacks on positions also tagging vehicles gives exp as well as spotting and when you play conquest as the round starts you can get so much exp i think i got 300 points within the first 30 seconds of a game then 200 more because my squad took out some helos id marked id suggest to any rookies who play to use binos to start out and always adjust your barrel

    How do you feel about the SRR 61 and the m98b for long range sniping? The m98b has a faster bullet, but has more drop. But since the drop can be compensated for, all you have left is the higher speed. Should I invest enough time and effort to get the 40x scope and range finder for the srr or the m98? Please reply.

    • @PICK_SIX
      @PICK_SIX  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can long range snipe up to nearly 2,500m with any gun and the only difference will be where you aim your cross hair. Typically I use the SRR and M98B if I was to, though. If you plan on doing 1000m+ sniping, the 40x will be quite worth it. The range finder doesn't work past 1000m, so it would be useless beyond that, but it's still great for 300-1000m encounters.

    One thing that you missed, at least what I think you missed, is the fact that you need to get a comfortable sidearm. In those close range engagements, kwikscoping and noscoping usually get you killed. the pistols are beast in BF4 so I think that you should turn to them instead of a close range sniper kill

    Nice tips. I've recently started playing BF4 and at first trying to overcome the mechanics of sniping in BF4 (i come from sniping in CoD2 'cause i had a shitty pc back then), then overcoming the struggle (as you said it) of getting constantly killed playing the aggresive recon role. I've made it through by practicing in the test range and sticking to one scope, getting better at acquiring targets and playing more team oriented (Spot like a madman!!). I haven't made any changes on my sidearms to this point but if you could give me some pointers I'd higly appreciate it.

    do you think sniping on PC is easier than using a console? I feel it is because there is a slight sticking point on thumb sticks when u move it across the center point, it can mess up a persons shot easily, i wish thumb sticks were fluid when moving them around.

    • @PICK_SIX
      @PICK_SIX  9 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Before I begin, I'll disclose that I play on both console and PC, and have played on console longer than I have on PC. So, I have lots of experience on both.
      Whenever I see this console vs PC argument of "easier" brought up, I always find the overall argument incomplete. There's no denying that a mouse gives you much greater control and pixel-perfect precision that a console stick simply cannot match, but that isn't the full story.
      On console, everyone has to deal with the same issue; the stick. In my personal experience, I've found the skill gap much larger between the great snipers and the very bad ones on console, but everyone that plays is in the same boat. The only real difference between players is sensitivity changes and skill levels, (and perhaps internet connection, but obviously that applies to PC as well) which can be changed through practice and experimentation.
      On PC, everyone has different equipment, different mice, CPUs, GPUs, frame rates, keyboards, etc. Though everyone is playing the same game, the differences in equipment can make a significant difference in skill levels, which, in my opinion, are already higher on PC to begin with. The precision that a mouse gives, that I had mentioned earlier, means that yes, aiming can be much more precise, but that goes for everyone playing. The average sniper on PC, in my experience, is much better than the average sniper on console.
      Overall, in my opinion, aiming is significantly easier on PC with that precision of a mouse, but, therefore, the average sniper on PC is usually a much better shot than a console one. That doesn't necessarily make it "easier", per say, as you now have a much higher overall quality of opponent. A good sniper on either platform will slaughter, but "easier" isn't a term that I'd use to compare the platforms.

      So do you think its not a good idea to have a cross platform with PC and console? Because the PC may have a slight advantage?

    • @PICK_SIX
      @PICK_SIX  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm not opposed to cross platform gaming, and I would support it, but I believe it would be best utilized among cross console gaming instead of all platforms.
      An above average PC player will murder all but the best console players because of the mouse advantage, and will more than likely have a significant equipment advantage as I alluded to in my previous comment. Based on that, the best PC players, with the best equipment, will be untouchable vs. most console players.
