  • Secrets out- I'm a fake ginger.
For the past 8 years I've been using L'Oreal "Reddish Blonde" and "Light Reddish Blonde". The blonde mixes with my brown hair to create a nice strawberry/red! Hope that helps!

You look gorgeous with red hair. Your skin tone really suits it. I have dark brown hair and really pale skin and over the years I've tried to lighten it or tried different colours but it never really suits me, so I stick to brown. I dye my hair at home too and sometimes I will do a dark brown with a like lighter chocolate brown to add dimension, but people just see it as brown...

I AM SHOOK! Not so much that you aren't a natural red head since you've mentioned dying your hair before but the fact that you do it with a box dye yourself is so impressive!! That seems like such a hot tip to use the blonde dye because anytime I've ever tried to use a reddish box dye on my medium brown hair it barely shows so I just think it's amazing you can get such excellent results using the blonder dyes. If I wasn't so used to my doo doo brown hair I'd be tempted to try going all red too...also it would seem very Single White Female if i -another Shannon on TH-cam -started dying her hair the same color!!

@@ObscuredReverie the color actually turned out VERY similarly to hers in this video. It was a pretty color, I just didn’t like it against MY complexion. I didn’t feel like it was very suiting on me. I feel like a medium-deep burgundy or amethyst color works better on my skin tone IF I ever do a color like that. I’ve done colors like that before that have worked beautifully, but this was definitely too much “copper” and warm for my liking. • @BlindCopperHead2736

I’m a natural redhead much darker now as I’ve aged more dark brown with a hint of red. I used overtone recently to enhance the red. I mixed vibrant orange and vibrant red and it gave a great copper look. I wouldn’t recommend the ginger color. I tried that to simplify things and it is a yellow orange ginger. I hated it. Didn’t compliment my cool skin tone at all. If you decide you do want to try ginger or really any of the colors for a pop of vibrancy I’d go with the daily condition you just use in the shower. I’d do the orange for your hair and just use it to enhance the vibrancy when your permanent color fades. Don’t do then ginger!
