  • Jami is a film maker and one of the most prominent directors in Pakistan. From directing commercials to some of the most popular music videos to his breathtaking feature film, 'Moor'.
A brave raw podcast; Jami begins talking about the state and the future of the film industry in Pakistan, from sponsorship in Film to a lack of a cinematic tradition in the country.
Jami then starts talking about the abundance of sexual coercion in the industry, going deep into his own story, from reading the letter at the Lahoti mela to going public with his own sexual abuse case, and how his own friends and journalists abandoned him after that.
Jami comes off as a beautiful soul in the podcast. He is a critical voice waving the flag for survivors and supporting the #MeToo movement in Pakistan.
The Pakistan Experience is a podcast looking to tell stories about Pakistan, and Pakistanis, through the lost art of conversation.

This is the man. I admired him initially after I watched Moor back in 2015 but mainly as a director. I did not know how brave of a soul he was. Jami, don't ever stop please. This is not just for you, you are proving to be a voice for the voiceless.

Shehzad, I can see you are sympathetic and feel for those people who have to go through all this. There come moments when you have no words to articulate your question because the scenario under debate is so terrible and it renders you literally speechless. I respect you man.

Thank you Shehzad for this amazing Pod. I was actually waiting for this pod for the last four or five months. It was quite informative and insightful to know the about what actually constitute a good cinema and what young film maker should do . To be honest, Men like you and Jami gives hope to Guys like me that It's alright and it is a just cause to stand for those who can't stand for themselves. #Metoo may have not got that kind of response in Pakistan it had an impact on me and I believe that it is my prerogative , my duty to help people understand what women have to go through each and everyday in our country.
Again, Thank you and Keep up the good work.

The liberals the conservatives...kisi say koi Umeed Nahi laga saktay =/
P.S. taking of sheer denial and pushing-things-under-the-carpet-attitude we get conditioning of: we would receive patients in civil ER , young adults coming in after ingesting something and parent(s) blatantly denying that it wasn’t self harm but mere confusion,
Ya right...drank caustic soda by mistake
Nor would they follow up in the Psychiatry OPD in-spite of all the counselling (even imploring; begging at instances)
Where it’s a matter of life and death... this is the attitude and level of suppression....reporting harassment and seeing the perpetrator punished (regretfully) seems crying for the moon

Alas that your sense of humor makes you sound like a fruit salad of philosophies and ideologies.
Taunting about 92 WorldCup and the prime minister was the spoiler of this podcast. People like you deserve Zardari or Nawaz Sharif.
Having said that all, I love your choice of guests always.
