sorry to be the one to break your bubble, but this "sweet , loving and happy" "model family"" vibe ur getting from this is possibly all a farce. every scene and clip was most definitely scripted rehearsed and acted out 🤧
@@Elizabeth-8888 no i just started interacting with content creators alot more this year and the face and the act they put for the cameras is night and day difference from who they really are as people
I feel like siblings of special needs kids don’t get enough credit. Elliot is a rock star big brother and Elliot and Oakley will have such a special bond growing up
I agree with Victor on teaching our kids that don’t have special needs to be nice with those kids that are different. I’m not an autistic mom but I watched this entire video to support Oakley! I will make sure to teach my kids to be nice, kind, & caring with all Children especially those that are not like them 💚
I am not a momma of an autistic baby. But like victor said I am still here watching to support, learn and understand y’all’s situation that much more. Thank you for being brave enough to share! Y’all are doing such a great job. Oakley is so blessed! Much love! ♥️
Victor is so right acceptance and understanding and knowledge is so helpful along this journey so thank you to anyone who is watching and trying to understand kiddos like my son and Oakley
I just wanted to say how much I admire you for sharing your family’s journey with autism. Your openness is not only helping to educate others but also creating a much-needed sense of community for families going through similar experiences. As an educator who’s had the privilege of working with many autistic students across the spectrum, it’s incredibly moving to see families like yours taking the lead in raising awareness. It’s beautiful to see you educating others and advocating for understanding. What you’re doing is making such a difference, and it really matters.
It's great you're excited. Wonderful things. How come you're not asking why? Why are more and more kids becoming autistic? There seems to be an abundance of focus on treatment. Where's the why? I realize there's more money to be made when children have it, but you don't strike me as an opportunistic.
Laura! I was a special needs teacher assistant for 7 years! & I remember playing the “memory game” with one of my autistic students everyday & I could NEVER beat him! My students surprised me everyday with their wisdom, creativity & how selfless and kind hearted they are. Your boy is so bright and so beautiful & your heart will triple in size 🤍 we love you oakley bear 🤍
As an ex ABA therapist just you accepting he has Autism is a win now everything you guys are doing for him and using your platform to help people god bless your family Oakley is one lucky boy💙
I love that you guys are making awareness on this topic. Autism is NOT a disability. They just learn differently and like you said they're sooooo smart. I love that you are showing it in a positive light. Many parents are scared and avoid learning more about it to help their kids. Amazing job Laura & Victor! It's because of all that you are doing now that Oakley will have brighter future ❤
I think saying autism isn’t a disability is doing a disservice because unfortunately it is,the world isn’t made for autistic people and they have their challenges and saying it isn’t a disability belittles any of the struggles autistic people overcome.
Autism is definitely a disability. My son is level 3 non verbal almost 6 years old and has not said a word. as the beautiful Laura said autism is a huge spectrum.
I clicked so quick. From a fellow autism mom thank you so much for sharing oakleys journey! This has been the hardest most rewarding part of my life being a mom to a child with autism is something special. Thank you for bringing awareness to boys like ours. I’ve always loved you Laura but now I love you more! Thank you for reminding I’m not alone on my journey! 🤍
Omg Laura, I haven’t even finished your video and am water works over here. The part about Luciano being sent to help his brother, my heart 🥹 you truly exude love for your babies. They are so lucky to have you and I am so happy I found your channel. I appreciate how real and raw you are and I love the support you and victor give one another. You have a faithful subscriber here and I am excited to watch Oakley’s beautiful journey alongside his family who loves him so much. Best wishes to you all ❤️
im crying this whole episode girl! my 3yo has autism and is non verbal. thank you for using your platform to share this info with the world you are amazing.
I might not have kids of my own in general, however I am a proud sister of two autistic siblings. One brother of 20 yrs and a little sister of 10 yrs. When I tell you that my two siblings have taught me so much, I REALLY DO MEAN THEY HAVE TAUGHT ME SO MUCH AND STILL CONTINUE TO TEACH ME MORE EACH AND EVERY DAY!!🥹♾️🧩🌈 It’s a huge blessing to be their big sister and they are the reason who I am today. They are my motivation and purpose. I literally look at them and can cry because I got to witness how far they have come and how much they have learned!🥹😭 Definitely watching them do even the smallest of things gets me emotional and so happy for my siblings because when they reach those milestones, it’s such a blessing and a beautiful feeling I can’t explain. 💗 Thank you so much Laura and Victor for using your platform to not only spread awareness on Autism by sharing Oakley’s journey, but help the families who are in a similar spot!🧩🌈🫶🏼💗
My son was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder 2 days after he turned 3. He is nonverbal still and he just turned 4 on 8/28 but he is so smart, so loving and the best little boy. He is a picky eater. My heart is with you. It is better to get them diagnosed early on so they can get all the help they need. ❤
I am almost done with watchin the video. My son still has the pacifier and chews on it as well and I didn’t even think of that as maybe a stem. He also likes to have it all day and for naps and bedtime. I try to hide it and he will go look for it as soon as I take it 😅. He also loves the alphabet and puts them in order and backwards and also loves the rainbow colors and puts his toys in colors in order. And he is now starting to understand things I tell him to do and he is now starting to look when I call his name. You are doing amazing. Thank you for sharing. You have made me feel better as being a mom with a child with autism . His sister is 2 and she is talking and is good across the board but he loves her and she loves him and he has taught me so much and so has she. also my son is pre k and before did speech therapy and OT and he has came a long way.❤
You need to get in touch with Domo Wilson, her son has autism too, I feel like you two could bring so much awareness about autism together!!❤ She’s on social media also
OT Here- Seeing children learn to become independent with their diagnosis is one of my biggest rewards. For potty training you can introduce social stories (books about potty training) so he can get more familiar with the concept of it. Family support is everything, I'm glad Oakley has a village on his side as well as OT, Speech and ABA to continue to help him grow. Keep up the good work, you're doing amazing!
I don’t even want kids of my own but as a Latina social worker and someone who is passionate about child/human development and the brain, I am so intrigued by your amazing work with Oakley! Thank you for using your platform to spread awareness and celebrate these superhero little humans. Every time I am out in public and there is a kiddo crying or throwing a tantrum, instead of immediately judging, I remind myself that they may be fighting a battle we don’t know about. Looking forward to more videos!
Thank you so much for sharing your journey with Oakley. From one Autism mom to another we are all doing such a good job and will never stop researching for our baby. My daughter is 15 and in ABA Therapy. She loves it and it has helped her so much. Autism children are one of the best humans ever. Good job Laura and Victor. You both are doing amazing.
As an ABA therapist and Speech therapist, I just want to say that I’M SO PROUD OF YOU GUYS! You guys are doing an amazing job! We need more parents like you🫶🏼💕 God bless your family🙏🏼💕
God's wisdom is evident in the blessing of Oakley; you and Victor are His chosen messengers, advocating for love, acceptance, and support. By embracing Oakley's unique path and seeking out resources, you're paving the way for a brilliant future. Your selflessness shines a light on the importance of Autism Awareness, encouraging others to seek guidance and reassurance. Your devotion as parents is a beautiful reflection of God's love and provision. I pray for you all thatGod is with you every step of the way , 🙏let no weapon formed against you prosper in Jesus mighty name Amen
ABA therapist here 🥰 clinic based with OT and ST in house. Having all three services in one place is truly such a blessing. We are able to collaborate and share information with each other to carry over into each session. OT is amazing and can share awesome techniques on how to regulate kiddos who unfortunately can’t do it themselves. ST seeing kiddos who are non verbal utilized AAC devices and them teaching us how to properly use them to communicate. It truly such a game changer.. I’ve seen so many of my clients go from completely non verbal to echoic to now full sentences. When it comes to ABA we’re also able to teach our ST/OT departments how to handle behaviors or teach them how to gain compliance. Finding ABA as a career was truly life changing… I see how these smart babies all learn a little different. Each and every kiddo has taught me something new and I’m blessed to be able to learn from them.
@@AguilarbgOT= occupational therapy, ST= speech therapy, AAC= augmented alternative communication..it's basically the tablet that helps our kiddos communicate. My daughter is 6 and uses one and it's amazing how she asks for all her favorite toys, snacks and foods with it. It's really cute and fun to see her personality come out with it and she even tells us to go away when she needs space. Sending you good vibes as you begin your journey. There are a lot of challenges that come with it but I am a way better person because of my daughter's diagnosis and she has changed our family for the better. You've got this
Not a mom in the spectrum but I want my son to show empathy for others the way to do this is literally showing them that example and you guys are such an amazing examples for us parents. Thank you for sharing such a vulnerable, someone once’s told me that autistic children are above us and that’s why they have a harder time to communicate with us and I 100% believe that we are so dumb compared to them that it’s hard for them to understand them ❤
I feel you so much on this momma. My 6 year olds evaluation is coming up in October, he is nonverbal autistic, they are so beautiful and so intelligent. The spectrum like you said is so huge but you got this mama and Oakley is beautiful. Our babies deserve the world and this is why I absolutely love watching your family. You’re so humble and beautiful thank you for being so open with us, letting us be apart of your family and trusting us.
I’m a BCBA and the awareness you are spreading is what we need! ❤ There are many people who would benefit from learning from your journey and will help create an environment where there is safe place for everyone. The more awareness the more we can help our families live without feeling judgment. Wishing you guys all the best with your journey! Oakley is lucky to be part of your family ❤
This whole video i kept happy crying with you literally. My son was diagnosed this last february level 2 autism with global developmental delay. I was the same way when i heard your whole world changes and u finally understand why your baby acts the way he does and makes u at peace and u just smile at them ❤ my son is a very picky eater as well, he only eats rice, waffle crackers, wavy chips and french fries and milk water juice 🥲 i would cry and feel so guilty too thinking hes so hungry and i feel selfish eating and he isnt. I feel every thing you said my sons 4 and goes to preschool now and its so amazing to see ❤❤ you guys arent alone we are a big community stay strong ur doing great!
Never clicked so fast 😂 autism mommy here ❤ Oakley your amazing thank you laura for sharing this super personal part of your life. Oakley you have a whole army ready to clap every milestones you accomplish ❤ my son is 3 and i agree they diagnosis our babies and just let us figure it out. Autism mommies supporting mommies
I love how you are using your platform to spread awareness and acceptance! Fellow Autism mom here and you’re doing so amazing. No one truly knows what it’s like and how hard it can be but soooo worth it. You both are amazing parents and have such an amazing support group ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🧩
oakley is very blessed to have you two as parents he made a fantastic choice as picking you as his parents, as an autism sister it’s a very beautiful journey my brother keeps growing so much and better, they are the sweetest kids and they make you open your eyes and give you lessons
You’re doing amazing as parents! I have 2 kiddos with autism and work with special need kids! They are truly a gift and teach me new things everyday! ❤
My son is 18 and he had about the same signs as your son when he was a baby. No eye contact when I would talk to him, not social with other kids, all he wanted to do was play with a ball and be in the water and put puzzles together. He could read signs at 1 1/2. I always thought it was weird but at the same time normal. Like he was just a super smart boy, independent, competitive. He is now 18 never diagnosed with autism or anything else. So after hearing you it makes me wonder yet I shouldn't wonder. I pray your son continues to improve. God bless your family.
As someone who works with autistic children, it’s changed my life for good! I worked in aba therapy and I have seen so much growth in my clients and is so beneficial!
I just remembered that Gemma worked in ABA. Y'all have an amazing team!!!! Acceptance is key!!! Best of luck. Sounds like y'all got early intervention which is the most important thing!
God Bless Oakley and your family Laura💕 My older brother has Autism and is 32. I’ve seen my mom go thru a lot but God only gives you what you can handle. You’re a strong mama and Victor seems like the best support and papa as well! 💪🏼 Enjoy this journey with Oakley, a gift from God 💙
I did notice such a change in you guys once you got pregnant and then saw the diet change and wondered what had changed and I’m so glad you told us! Like I commented before if it wasn’t because of all the information you had been posting with foods and chemicals …I’ve followed every account you’ve shared and have been making little changes to our diets as well and Holly Molly it’s been soo good for my son 🥹 I’ve always admired you your family and have thought so greatly of you now I’ve got you on a throne girly 🤩 you inspire me to be a better mama for my son and daughter and to not give up.. this journey feels never ending and dark because you don’t know what to expect from their future but knowing I’m not alone keeps me going for them 🫶🏽🙏🏽 so thank you and like always i hope God keeps blessing you in every possible way 🫶🏽
As an autism mama of a four year old that’s thriving in all aspects.. trust me when I say early intervention is the best thing you can do!! Get them in all the therapies as soon as possible!!
@@DogMommy. my daughter gets speech, OT, PT, & ABA. If you’re in Orange County Regional Center helps so much!! Thanks to them my daughter has been in the early learning center at an elementary since she turned 3. School has helped her speech soooo much!!
The fact that you’re both on the same team! Supporting each other to help your little one out is truthfully so beautifully to see! My niece is 7 and she’s autistic and let me tell you she’s is the most beautiful smartest 7 year old I know. But recognizing the first signs and getting help right away is a big factor in helping them. ❤
ABA therapist here! been in the field for almost 3 years and I just want to say everything you are doing for Okley is amazing ❤ you are his bigger advocate and keep doing what you’re doing 💙
You guys are so so strong!! And I appreciate Victor for thanking those of us watching to support and learn as well because I am studying for nursing but I want to specifically work with children like Oakley because kids like him are so under appreciated and there is kids like savants who thrive in life and it should be talked about more!! ❤️ props to you Laura for being the best mommy to all your boys🩷
You guys are such amazing parents! It makes me happy to see how well informed Victor is & how involved he is in all of this. Oakley is definitely blessed to have such incredible and supportive family members!! May God keep on blessing you guys! It is honestly amazing to see how you acknowledge our Lord and your definitely right DIOS NUNCA SE EQUIVOCA!!! Can’t wait for the diet video!! God bless you always🙏🏼✝️
I love how much you love your kids. I always tell my husband that nobody loves their kids as much as we love ours. But I think you’re right there with us!
Your right! Victor way to say it!!! We do need to spread the work to our children to help out not only the kids going through it, but help our kids be better at understanding what they need to know! Eye opener for everyone ❤ God sent you a gift and y’all are awesome people 🩷
Makes me so happy to see you speaking up I also have an ASD child and I’m glad you are speaking and bringing awareness our babies need acceptance and compassion My son learned so much in ABA and he was in it till he started kindergarten they I took him out so it wouldn’t be too much but each baby is different and every parent will do what they feel is best my advice is do what you feel is best for him because everyone will have an opinion
I hope having you guys speaking out about autism helps educate many people in our Mexican community. I’ve unfortunately seen many comments demonizing autism and other learning disorders to the point of complete negation that they exist. I work with children in a school setting and see kids who could be using aba therapy or other additional help to improve their social awareness and interactions so hopefully these resources become more accessible in the near future. You guys are awesome 👏 ❤
I told my friends about you and how instead of running for the hills you went and educated yourself you became an active mother and your child’s best advocate as you should ❤
I am in tears because you getting pregnant out of the blue is a definite sign of god that he was preparing you for what was coming into your life and Luciano is a blessing for both you and Oakley
You wanting to cry then you having to say they are not tears of sadness its okay to be sad momma as moms we have these ideas of how our kids will be as toddlers and we never imagine that we won’t hear their voice when other parents hear their children’s voice. I have two boys on the spectrum 6&5 they both got diagnosed a few years ago and it still hurts and thats okay that doesn’t mean we don’t love our kids or are ashamed of their diagnosis its more fear of how their future will be that causes that sadness 💕thank you for speaking up on this. The diet you guys have oakley on motivated me to start changing my kids diet all they like is noodles, pizza nuggets, fries and yogurt. I was able to get my kids to start eating apples and grapes so far😭🤍but slow and steady we will get there soon.
I’ve followed you before this but as soon as I seen the title, I clicked so fast. I am a Momma to a beautiful little boy who also has autism. My son is at a level3. He is nonverbal. But he is soooo Smart in his own way. He is definitely so happy but he does have his moments just like any kid. This has been a hard journey so far, I had a lot of learning to do. My boy has definitely taught me patience as well. It’s good knowing we can all come together for support. ❤ I wish you nothing but the best for you and your family and your beautiful little Oakley 😊
Hi Laura and Victor! I am an Early Childhood Educator and have worked with so many children on the Autism Spectrum and I just wanted to tell you both that you all are amazing for all that you are doing for Oakley. Thank you for sharing your story to help other families. Thank you for advocating for children on the spectrum.
Two out of my three have Autism and it has been an absolute life changing experience but over these past 8 years, I’ve grown to appreciate all they’ve done for me. They’ve taught me patience, what love really is and though they have different support needs and have completely different challenges, they share so many traits and interests. All love your way ❤
I feel that by speaking out about it it’s also reassuring to him that it’s ok, he’s ok. some parents try to hide it and that I think makes the child feel more ashamed and maybe feel more insecure and feel that something is from with them. Thank you for this video I honestly am grateful for you and all this information and for talking about it, confidentially!!
Laura you look so amazing your skin is glowing your hair is natural and thick and great. You both are doing amazing and following gods path. This was meant to be. I am an rbt and my clients benefit so much from behavioral therapy. It’s all a learning process. We are here to support you both!
My son got diagnosed a year ago today and your video popped up 😭 I needed to hear I wasn’t the only one scared. He’s my first and being a first time mom I was lost and being an autistic mom at that was even more scary but I’ve been doing it! He’s healthy & happy that’s all I care about 🙏🏻 blessings to your family!
Its ok baby girl your baby will be ok! I just found out my son has autism as well about 2 weeks ago. Now we can give our kids the proper care and as long as we can make them happy and create a comfortable world for them is all that truly matters. From one mom going through the same exact situation as you as hurtful and painful as it may seem I know you got this. Use your platform to help educate other moms on your journey and experience as some of us are going through it too and cooping as well.
And there’s nothing wrong with sad tears either; as a mom of a severely autistic 14 year old I can say it is a challenging journey. There’s soo much you’re already doing that I’m sure he will thrive. I will definitely try to tune in and learn more for my son’s benefit. ❤
This video warms my mommy heart soo much 🥲🥰!! I felt like I was listening to myself explaining my life to anyone and everyone lol literally word for word ! 😅 there’s so much to learn and experience thank you for sharing your own personal journey. From a fellow autism mom I appreciate you both for sharing and using your platform to share the beauty of autism. Can’t wait for more of this type of content! ❤
Wish I could hug you and show you his future because he does have a great one! My son was diagnosed as well and he’s been to speech therapy and occupational therapy and continues to get help in school and he is thriving! My son got his first spelling test in 1st grade and got a 100%!! I help him study at home in different ways and he is able to memorize all the words and spell them on paper and out loud. I never thought he would be able to speak let alone read and write! Us as moms need a lot of patient and give them lots of love and they will be able to live a happy life. Best wishes to you and Oakley.
My son now 3 years old. Has progressed and turned into such a smart little guy. He wouldn’t make eye contact or look at all when I called him by his name. That was the first red flag and that’s when I took him to a neurologist and evaluated him but he didn’t beg diagnosed with autism but with delay in speech and development. And the doctor referred me to find aba therapy for him and all the therapies they have. Speech , ot, and physical. Being consistent and giving them all the therapies will change their life’s tremendously. Is a long journey but every achievement makes it all worth it. I love and thank god everyday for my baby boy he has changed my life so much. I wish Oakley the best in his journey! He will do amazing.
You guys are so amazing!!! I'm an auntie of 2 amazing autistic kids. This really warmed my heart. Keeps pushing and thriving. I know how hard and stressful it can be at times but keeping doing what you're doing. It's so rewarding to see.
As a behavior interventionist all I can say is if you keep doing what your doing with Oakley he is just going to continue to succeed in school and everything. Good job to you guys with everything especially diet that’s amazing!
God bless your family you guys aren’t the only ones I am a mom with a son with autism I cried when I found out I understand how you felt Laura. Now that my boy is big he’s really smart and amazing there loving babies and special as well ❤ He’s receiving ABA therapy it has helped him a lot with going to the restroom by himself it has taught him to be independent ♥️ he’ll be okay and learn thru out the time girly don’t you worry you got this. 🥰♥️
Autism mommy here! 💚💙🧩 Thank you for sharing this with us. Oakley definitely has a great support system/family! You sharing your tips will definitely help all autism mommies out there! You are amazing Laura 🫶🏼🩷
Thank you so much, Laura, for sharing your story. You are definitely right about how our babies are different. My son has autism and likes to hit throw and destroy things. Listens to my husband but not me when we are alone 😢 it gets tough every day is different, and one thing after another. But to me, he has come a long way with talking and doing good at preschool. But still a picky eater, but his diet is healthy, more fiber and protein, almond milk. But thank you again for sharing everything you have gone through this past year. Thank you for not making me feel alone i truly feel you understand . This is a huge learning process, and we're in this together ❤️ 🧩
🥹 literally was trying not to cry watching this. Being a parent to a child on the spectrum if a whole other level of parenting. Im so grateful you guys are using your platform to spread awareness. Im looking forward to that diet video. Because i was once there struggling w/my little one with his food intake. Still am but i would love to know how you got Oakley bear to eat more nutritious foods. 🙂
I work in the Early Start Program and I enjoy working with all the kiddos that I get to interact with. Every milestone, from the biggest to the smallest are huge for them, parents, and us that get to work with them. Early intervention is important and every child learns different and at their own pace. Oakley has great advocates in you both! Keep doing what you’re doing!!
This is what God wanted you all to have! A beautiful loving and most caring child ever & he has the best family ever, this is the huge reason why god chose you guys! You all are the most sweetest and loving family ever! Keep learning, Oakley will keep surprising you all with beautiful things! We love you guys! ❤
I loved this video so much! The main thing that stood out to me is that you guys are NOT trying to change nor “cure” him because this isn’t a disease or something than can be cured. Its beautiful that you guys have embraced, accepted it and are now doing ABA and things to help him learn those skills that his brilliant mind can find boring ❤ Also, I’ve had friends who kiddos have been diagnosed. I get the grieving process is different for all ❤ But if seen moms try to “change” their child and lose their patience when the children aren’t acting or doing the same things as other kids. It’s nice to see you guys are embracing his personality ❤ and not forcing him to be someone he isn’t
Loved this! For autistic children and everyoneeee in general: 1. Gut is so important!! Work on the gut and everything else will be so much better. 2. Diet!! But sometimes this is hard when your gut is not good 3. Nervous system! Yesss. We do feed off each other. Especially little kids feed off of their mothers. Work on your nervous system and they’ll thrive more :) 4. REMOVING TOXINS. You need to get rid of toxins. Through 💩 / sweat / lymphatics. If you aren’t pooping then you’ll accumulate so many toxins!! Which will cause your body to strugggle including emotionally and physically. 5. Deficiencies! If you are deficient in a ton of minerals your body won’t thrive. Add minerals!! Electrolytes!! Unfortunately, a lot of us moms pass down so many deficiencies because we are already deficient before having children. ❤❤❤❤❤
I have not been on TH-cam for a while BUT WOW wow wow! I really commend these two. They have really blossomed into these beautiful parents and they really are doing a wonderful job. My heart feels for Laura. I was just crying with her. I can feel her lovingness as a mommy. 💙💙❤❤💛💛💚💚
I went through all of this as a single mom and on his 3rd birthday he saw a psychiatrist and received his diagnosis. Basically every sign was exactly as you described. When I met my fiancé he was 3 1/2 and he had no issue with his behavior. He got to see him grow and meet his milestones and had the patience for him. He is now almost 8 and thriving and we look back at paperwork and older evaluations and it’s so relieving to see all the progress he made.
This makes me so happy and appreciate how you guys are spreading awareness and that you guys are sharing your experience! My son is on the spectrum and I understand what you go through. I love my son and i cant wait for him to teach his twin sisters the way he sees the world. Trust me it gets easier and he will continue to grow and learn! I have learned so much and cant wait to hear more of his journey and your guys journey.
Same here my son is 22 years old. Yes social media and the world is a dark place. But God is so good. He did graduate and received a certificate for IT (vocational college) he does drive but does not know his around. It's all repetition. You all will be his voice too. Good Luck guys. Celebrate all milestones he accomplishes.
As an older sibling to a wonderful younger sibling that is special needs. And a parent, all of our children are so very special… But embracing them for who they are is the best way to show them they are truly loved! Thank you for utilizing your platform to not only inspire but for normalizing that it is okay to have a child with a diagnosis. 💙
I completely understand I have a daughter who has a rare epilepsy and has autism. It is hard but not impossible like you said. I feel like there is so much you learn. I have taken a few seminars and every time I’m finished I’m just like why don’t they teach us this in high school. Atleast as one semester. Because it is in our day to day life. As we grow we should know how to care or interact or just be more patient with people on the spectrum and not right away judge. May God keep guiding you and your family with light 🙏🏻✨💛
@@Maricelaandradepayan my son also has a rare epilepsy and it get really hard 😪 and yes not many people know about epilepsy and autism and they judge so fast omg i have many many stories and it hurts us so much! People need to learn how to be patient not just us with out kids but also everyone around!
Welcome to the community! All the signs you saw were the same as my son. He's 8 now and he is doing so well. We are extremely proud of how far he has come. He started therapies at 2 years old I believe. His main thing was the speech delay. He really didn't speak until almost 5 years old. He has come so far. It's definitely a learning process every day. It's scary in the beginning, I was scared of how he would be treated but then it lit a fire in me to ADVOCATE even harder for him, and my other kids too.
Your story about when you got pregnant with Luciano hits home. Because I feel like my 3rd baby came to help big brother. My second son was non verbal for 4 years when I had my daughter I felt like he wanted to communicate with his babysitter so much, shortly after my daughter was born he started saying his first words now his a little chatter box and I am so grateful! 🥹🥹
Thank you so much Laura and Victor for sharing your family's journey with autism and being open with this topic from what you guys have been learning. 🤍🤍💕
Here to support and i have special need sisters, and I’ve always have viewed any child with special needs, no matter how small or big the spectrum is or the disability is, i view them as Gods angels on earth. So innocent, and can teach the world something. God bless you both and your family. Oakley bear has the best parents, sweet boy. I’m so happy to hear your both getting so educated 🙏🏼
Thank you guy's for being open about it. Specially you guy's having a big platform and using it on a positive way. I'm a single mom of 2 Autistic grown boy's my son is turning 21 on the 23rd and the other one is turning 19 next month. It's been like a roller coaster. I always have say ITS BEEN HARD BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE..
Laura and Victor thank you ! You guys are both so strong and I am so grateful for parents like you , Oakley couldn’t have asked for more better parents to help him navigate through this journey a amazing journey at that 🥹 these beautiful kids deserve nothing but the best and we as adults need to be there to help and guide them ❤ so happy you guys are spreading awareness it helps so much and I pray for nothing but the best for you guys 🤍
ASD Mom here ~ I Want to Start off By saying THANK YOU. Thank you for using your platform to share this autism awareness for all families who have an autistic child in a household. Autism is a wave of emotions but it’s such a beautiful blessing deep down! My son was diagnosed on 2/2/22 , that itself was a sign. I truly believe autism moms are hand picked from god, we are much stronger than we put on, being overwhelmed with emotions is normal. We have our highs and lows and that doesn’t take away from us or our child. ❤
Yes girl I am glad you brought it up. Oakley has great parents. Try to make a sensory room, have a library with beans bags( my twins are autistic and they love their library). Try grounding so no shoes outside just let them feel the grass. I also detox them with the spray and notice the huge changed in them and changing their diet and reading all my ingredients. You got this Laura and Victor
Love this! ❤ waiting on my baby girls evaluation results. I have a 2 month old and my baby girls is 3 and I soon realize how much my baby needed me: for a moment I felt guilty for having another baby but it’s Gods plan and my baby girls loves her and is so helpful I love my girls and I appreciate you for sharing your story your journey! This has inspired me to research to better prepare to give my best to my girls!! ❤
Laura & Vic, Let me just say you guys are amazing parents , I am a mom to a special needs son who is Blind , autistic and has epilepsy. I have to agree with you Patience is something I gained too My journey hasn’t been easy & lots of friends or family may not understand exactly what your child will be going through but remember that A LABEL does not define YOUR SON 💚 i can’t stress enough to spoil him with lots of love . Every day is learning process you guys will be growing with him as he gets older ,i promise you things will get better and when I say better not saying being autistic is a problem absolutely not but unless you live in our world (is how I see it ) people won’t understand How huge such a small milestone is big accomplishments to us as parents ! It’s very important to educate ourselves & that you guys have done your homework ! You have a whole community here for you guys ❤️ As a mom it’s only normal to feel guilty at times, it’s hard when you first hear the diagnosis But like I said that’s just a label that will never define your sign 💜 sending you lots of love ! Wishing you guys nothing but the best
I’m a para educator with Kindergartners and first graders , I swear I love my job so much because I’m helping them to build there skills to become independent later on down the road but don’t get me wrong it can be hard to see them get frustrated but it always helps to applaud them for the accomplishments that they have reached and help them to achieve more goals in their lives because I swear all children are equal and beautiful in there own way because some are verbal and some aren’t but they are amazing in their own ways 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Laura, thank you so much for sharing your words and encouragement! While my own children don’t have autism, as a teacher, I’m deeply grateful for the valuable insights and information you provide. Your guidance is incredibly helpful for educators like me who work with young children. Although we can't diagnose, your knowledge helps us recognize potential red flags early on, so we can better support our students and their families in getting the help they may need. Your work is making a real difference for both teachers and the children we care for! Btw, I’m a huge fan of yours!! Again, thank you so much!! -Christy Lozano ❤
Special Education aide here- after working with autistic children it changes your life! It makes you see the world so differently and you learn so much about yourself and not to care so much and just enjoy life. AU babies are so special and each is so different and unique. My advice is just be patient and understanding! Yall are doing amazing, sending love and prayers🩵🩵🩵
You gave me courage and a voice to speak up for my son. He has an appointment soon to get evaluated. I felt alone and idk ashamed? Not of my son but of needing to ask for help again. But I Thank you so much Laura ❤
So much respect for you two for sharing your journey and being so transparent.❤ when you cry I can literally feel how passionate and how big your heart is you truly feel things very deeply that’s so beautiful.
Thank you for sharing, the most beautiful thing is that you will have support and all autism mom / parents are here to understand and hear you out, I had fought many years to finally get the help and support my son needs, he wasn’t diagnosed till he was 9 but he struggled got tested when he was small and stated he wasn’t autistic and that he wasn’t qualified for more help, so I pushed hard every day to make sure my son had the services not just at school but at home to continue helping me, his speech has got better but it’s still hard for him to communicate certain things, it’s hard for people and family understand him because they are Mexican and they don’t believe in such a thing. So at the beginning I struggled so I’m thankful now that my son is getting the services and help he needs all around.
My baby is turning 3 in january and he he has the same symptoms.. He definitely taught me patience and my life has gotten easier with him once i started to be more patient because yes it is true they do pick up your vibes and he learned to self regulate himself and i just give him time till he comes back to me and he hugs me. its really hard but his team with ECI has been doing an amazing job too!
Yall are a power couple! Victor is so well spoken and he is always there to help you finish your sentences when you get emotional 🥺 God bless yall!
NO THEY ARE SICK USING THEIR SON FOR CLOUT AND MONEY GAINS GROSS AS HELL... REPORTING YA ASS
sorry to be the one to break your bubble, but this "sweet , loving and happy" "model family"" vibe ur getting from this is possibly all a farce. every scene and clip was most definitely scripted rehearsed and acted out 🤧

@@Elizabeth-8888 no i just started interacting with content creators alot more this year and the face and the act they put for the cameras is night and day difference from who they really are as people
I feel like siblings of special needs kids don’t get enough credit. Elliot is a rock star big brother and Elliot and Oakley will have such a special bond growing up
I felt this 🙌🏽
I agree with Victor on teaching our kids that don’t have special needs to be nice with those kids that are different.
I’m not an autistic mom but I watched this entire video to support Oakley!
I will make sure to teach my kids to be nice, kind, & caring with all
Children especially those that are not like them 💚
Victor is SO well informed on this diagnosis. That is so wonderful to see!!!
ABA therapist here - HUGE difference for my clients to be in therapy. Applause and thanks for creating the space for being open with your family!

We we love parents sharing their child's face and medical information without their consent!!!
Agree!!! It is a disability and it's okay!!!! Being diabetic is also a disability!!! @@sailorzee
Also there’s different type of autism. There’s kids with autism that don’t even talk or do anything.
Autism is a disability. Autism is a disability recognized by ADA.
Autism mom too with a 3yo non verbal😢
Same here 🫶🏼 Thank you Laura and Victor! Y’all are amazing and I’m looking forward to all the autism content 🧩 ❤️
His sister is 2 and she is talking and is good across the board but he loves her and she loves him and he has taught me so much and so has she. also my son is pre k and before did speech therapy and OT and he has came a long way.❤
Oh wow! 8/28 your baby boy shares a birthday with MY baby hoy with autism. He’s 7🥺❤️
You need to get in touch with Domo Wilson, her son has autism too, I feel like you two could bring so much awareness about autism together!!❤ She’s on social media also
Yes!!! I love domo she’s always so positive and is such a good much
OT Here- Seeing children learn to become independent with their diagnosis is one of my biggest rewards.
New to the World of autism since my daughter is in the process of getting diagnosed but what does OT/ST/ACC stand for?
@@AguilarbgOT= occupational therapy, ST= speech therapy, AAC= augmented alternative communication..it's basically the tablet that helps our kiddos communicate. My daughter is 6 and uses one and it's amazing how she asks for all her favorite toys, snacks and foods with it. It's really cute and fun to see her personality come out with it and she even tells us to go away when she needs space. Sending you good vibes as you begin your journey. There are a lot of challenges that come with it but I am a way better person because of my daughter's diagnosis and she has changed our family for the better. You've got this
@@AguilarbgOT- occupational therapy
ST- speech therapy
AAC- augmentative and alternative communication (usually tablets)
Wanted to give Victor and all dads a big hug! I know you said moms the entire video… but dads are a big part of the journey as well! Good job dads!!!
My nephew, a senior in high school, has autism. He's smart and doing well. Children with autism are genuinely unique.
Hi what kind of therapy do you recommend
@@DogMommy. my daughter gets speech, OT, PT, & ABA. If you’re in Orange County Regional Center helps so much!! Thanks to them my daughter has been in the early learning center at an elementary since she turned 3. School has helped her speech soooo much!!
I agree !
Eye opener for everyone ❤ God sent you a gift and y’all are awesome people 🩷
Makes me so happy to see you speaking up I also have an ASD child and I’m glad you are speaking and bringing awareness our babies need acceptance and compassion
My son learned so much in ABA and he was in it till he started kindergarten they I took him out so it wouldn’t be too much but each baby is different and every parent will do what they feel is best my advice is do what you feel is best for him because everyone will have an opinion
Yeah, but the Mexican community will not remember the name Oakley because is not a Hispanic name
I told my friends about you and how instead of running for the hills you went and educated yourself you became an active mother and your child’s best advocate as you should ❤
“We’re all routing for Oakley, he’s in a safe place with you guys” absolutely 🥹💚💚💚
I wish you nothing but the best for you and your family and your beautiful little Oakley 😊
🤍🫶😭
Such a strong couple and family, you guys are doing amazing and sharing this brings awareness to this topic. What a beautiful family 💒🎀🩷
Loved this! For autistic children and everyoneeee in general:
1. Gut is so important!! Work on the gut and everything else will be so much better.
2. Diet!! But sometimes this is hard when your gut is not good
3. Nervous system! Yesss. We do feed off each other. Especially little kids feed off of their mothers. Work on your nervous system and they’ll thrive more :)
❤❤❤❤❤
You’re not just influencing you’re impacting ❤️✨
I tell you. Kids are a blessing sent to us, so we can change for the better. I love it.
My son has epilepsy and autism it can get hard and frustrating bit not impossible 💜💙 yall are doing a good job! 🥰
You guys are so down to earth, it’s amazing to watch how much growth there has been ❤
That little boy is so lucky to have you two as his parents ❤ God bless
Laura & Vic,
Let me just say you guys are amazing parents , I am a mom to a special needs son who is Blind , autistic and has epilepsy.

Special Education aide here- after working with autistic children it changes your life!
