First Tasha it's good to see you. I believe that like Niall Ferguson says the world is a better place due to the Anglophone primacy, the British Empire followed by the American hegemon elevated billions of people out of subjugation. Not saying either was perfect, but life has improved for most.
I truly don't believe he meant that in a literal manner. He shows more respect to the USA than many of our own do. I'll forever be honored to have spent time with my Brothers and Sisters across the pond. They have earned the highest of respect.

I was a preteen when 9/11 happened. I remember. And to this day, I've never met someone who didn't appreciate and doesn't remember England's support and playing our national anthem when 9/11 happened. There were British soldiers and medics who helped save my first husband's life after being injured by an IED in Afghanistan. To see your shared patriotism makes my heart full.
As someone who lived as a military wife and raised my child while his father left for 9-12 months at a time to fight for our freedom, thank you.❤
So with our current politics we are being weakened to where this song is offensive to people. We should be bringing youngins like you two who want what we have and want to preserve freedom. Yet we have opened our southern borders allowing so many people whom hate America destroy our values.

In case you have not heard, Toby Keith made an epic comeback after his cancer battle a few days ago with a surprise concert for his fans. It started as a rehearsal session and turned into a two and a half hour concert!

Toby toured US military bases in active war zones to entertain our troops and raise morale. He wrote this song in response to his father’s passing and the 9/11 terrorist attacks. As far as I’m concerned, Toby was an exceptional man and patriot. Rest In Peace.

My brother -in-law served 3 tours in Vietnam on a Huey medivac helicopter and was shot down three times but still cut from the burning chopper the leather things of the good luck charm I had told him he had to bring back to me, and he DID!!

I totally love this song. Toby wrote what all Americans were feeling. It seemed like all of us were running out & getting that cd, & blaring it all across the U.S. He caught a lil flack over it, but 99% of the Americans were standing behind him & this song. Sadly, Toby passed away February 5, 2024 after fighting yrs of stomach Cancer.😭
One of the most patriotic songs and our military loved him. My husband is a retired Navy SEAL who served in Iraq & Afghanistan several tours. We loved Toby Keith and are crushed he has passed away. His music will always be special to us and his patriotism truly appreciated to the military families. RIP Toby, we will miss you.

This is the best reaction I have seen in a long time. For those of us who were deployed shortly after 9/11, guys like Toby Keith spent a lot of their time to come and perform for us while we were away from home. Toby Keith is an American gem and someone who got many of us through a tough time.
Keith refused to record this song for a long time. He would only perform it live. He relented and recorded it on a personal request by a top General who pointed out a lot kf Marines and soldiers would never have the chance to see the live show.
He just returned to the stage last month after a two year absence fighting against cancer, and plans to be back on tour this year.
Happy Memorial Day to my fellow Americans. Let us remember our fallen.
This song helped us rally after 9/11. This helped so many of us trying to understand why this happened to us. I was 25. Never forget that day or the following days, ever.

He has lost a lot of weight which can be expected from stomach cancer, well, cancer in general but he's still handsome. Keep the prayers 🙏 going for him to make a full recovery.
