Gotrax made my year for 2022, i needed something cheap to literally remove the walking from my job, and found one for $200 at Walmart, it did have a failure and stopped working but the support team sent a new "top" (literally the whole top handlebar and controller together) and still running strong, looking for something that goes 25+ for commute for college now, it's a mile away but up a hill, hope this release is it!!
Great review. I was hoping to see one of these in our group rides at some point but it won't even cross the finish line while emove cruiser can go 30-35 mph and 50+ miles for $1500 and it's been out forever. The gx3 at $2k has so much competition at that price point that's it's going to need to be a banger to compete or basically keep up if the range isn't an issue. It's still great that gotrax is expanding its product line even if it seems like a huge miss and an opportunity to become more prevalent for the buying dollars.
I’ve plotted all of the specs and performance vs price and these beat the trend line by a little in every category, except range vs weight and top speed vs. weight. These come up 5lbs heavy in both of those categories. -Paul
It's real hard to touch the emove on value. It's using off the shelf parts and working at an economy of scale that is hard to beat. Additionally the choice to stick with single motor let's them save quite a bit of money, 1 motor, simpler controller, less wiring, less complex to manifacture. The fact that they keep improving it means that bar keeps moving. It's simply the best value out there and probably will remain that was for the relevant future.
Been using the GMAX for over a year and 1500 miles on it, suits me very well, oh want a slightly faster and shock absorbed scooter. I think I have my eye on the GX1
I have a GX1 and this review was on point. Solid base, nothing loose, and no rattles. Suspension is actually pretty good on gravel or big bumps. Love the wide Handlebars. I like the "Boost feature" that allows you to select more powerful acceleration in every drive mode. Brakes stop on a dime. Tire pressure makes a big difference in ride quality. Get it right and its very smooth over joints in the road. Plenty of room for your feet. The 2 year warrantee is awesome!
I ordered the GX1 this morning from the GoTrax website after viewing this video. It's a shame the GX2 only comes in Gun Metel Grey. I'd love to see another video with the scooter being transported in folded "Wheelbarrow mode" on a train or down some stairs. My height is 6ft and I'm 195lbs. Transporting my current GoTrax Ultra (*26lbs) is a comical joke to toss into the trunk. Bring on Big Bro!
Wonder how much you're "tossing" the GX1 around @ 73 lbs. I want this scooter but it's too heavy for ne. I'd need someone's help loading it into my SUV if I wanted to take it somewhere else to ride
Thanks to you guys for making me buy the gx1 and gx2! I love them! Now, when will the Gotrax GX3 review!? I can’t buy the gx3 without watching your review, first!
I really enjoy your reviews! Thx. These look great but what I'm finding is that the scooter stems tend to be too high for my 5'4" frame. It makes it weird to control. What e-scooters tend to cater to shorter riders?
Great question. Adjustable ones like the Solar EQ will let you ride with very low bars. Other scooters that come to mind are the Unagi scooters, Uscooters / Fluid Mosquito, or some of the Hiboy scooters like the S2. -Paul
It really depends on whether you need the speed and performance of the P1 2.0 or if you prefer the more modern design of the GX2. Both are great scooters. -Paul
Oooo, now I'm wondering if I should go with a Gotrax for my next scooter instead of the Kaabo Mantis King GT. Will you guys be getting a GX3 to test? It looks so slick in the blue, which also happens to be my favorite color.
We will be getting a GX3, but I'm not sure when. It's a much heavier scooter though, at 94 lbs! Not something you'd want to carry upstairs every day. Cool scooter though, and should have really amazing suspension with four fully adjustable shocks! -Paul
I wish more companies would do fold down handle bars like VSETT/USCOOTER - Durant happen every day But WHEN you need to its so much easier to throw in a car trunk
True. I love the pull-back shape of the Vsett bars, but it bothers me a little that they wiggle after a while if you don't re-tighten during a ride. There are a couple types which latch in the middle and are very secure, but don't have as much pull back angle as I like. Some day we'll get the perfect folding handlebars. -Paul
Do you know anything about the Gotrax Raptor Vs the Gotrax GX1 seems to be very similar or identical but I noticed the Best Buy is the only one that sells the Raptor!
Interesting! I hadn’t even heard of the Raptor! Thank you so much for the heads up. I know the GX Zero and Ares are the same scooter, so this could be a similar situation. -Paul
I also found the the Gotrax Raptor at Walmart Site currently on sale for same price as the GX Zero Black Friday price. Only Difference I see Spec wise is the Raptor has a 20Ah battery (thus allowing longer travel distance) instead of a 15Ah found in GX1. and the obvious color difference.
I'm really hung up on the fact that it seems like none of these scooter manufacturers care about waterproofing. Apollo is the only one above ip6. I need a vehicle for all season in canada. Where are the snow-scooters lol.
We’re getting there. Another factor is that not all IP ratings are real. The good brands are really doing the work to test them, where some of the lesser known brands are just guessing at what they think the rating is. But I agree. I want a scooter that I can ride like I ride my motorcycle: all weather all the time. We’re getting there. -Paul
Good idea. If a shock has more damping it means that it gets rid of bouncing faster. If it’s over-damped it can feel too stiff. Under-damped, too bouncy. Most scooters have no damping at all, other than the unintentional friction from the pivoting mechanism. -Paul
Thanks my man 💪the best reviews 🙌 i think the solar eq still biting, except for the design but i like it 👌 now im between the mantis v2 and solar eq to pull the trigger on
I like go trax. The scooters look beefy and solid. They really hit the commuter market well. Didn’t notice Paul talk about night riding? I assume they have some decent lighting
We didn't get a chance to test it at night, but the lights look fairly typical for this class of scooters. Thanks for the reminder! We're hoping to start doing more night riding shots. We love that high-mounted headlights have become so popular now. -Paul

Good afternoon, I'm looking for a scooter that runs about 30+ mph and about 25-30+ miles real world minimum. If you had $1200.00 -$1500.00 which scooter would you buy?

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide technically I've been working behind the scenes with a certain Chinese manufacturer. Helping with engineering some new designs and helping out with web development. Now I'm back stateside and will be helping a new marketing team here in the USA 🛴🤘
Great video, I have the gx2, but I’m not able to get to the claimed max speed 35mph. On sport mode, I get only up to 28-30mph, I am 6 ft 220 lbs, could that be the issue?
It could be. I’m fully tucked down and on flat ground. Also make sure your tires are aired up. I do two direction speed runs on flat ground and average the top speeds from the two runs together. I weigh 165lbs and am 5’10” tall. -Paul
13km one way? So about 8 miles. Almost any scooter should be able to handle that, especially if you have the ability to charge while at work. How fast do you want to go? -Paul
The weight ain't too bad, dual motors, enclosed drum brakes, waterproof rating, futuristic design, lights, choice of Ah (3), rubber mat, the tyres have protection from punctures, new display. And I was watching a French review of the scooter, (with subtitles). They managed 74 kph with the scooter of the ground in the showroom. Okay, you won't get that on the streets, but Dualtron have it down for 65 kph. Which is pretty fast for this kind of scooter. And the prices are good too !
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide aww that would have been great if they could of added that in to my Black Friday sake 👍 they sent me an email saying they could not honer the promo .what has me worried is I live up stairs this scooter is suppose to be 76 pounds? My other scooter is only 45. Not sure if this is going to work ?
I ordered the gx1 but both videos I’ve seen it has cheesy squeeky sounding breaks …. Didn’t hear that in videos on the gx2and3???? That has me worried 😒lotta money for cheap sounding squeeky breaks ! 🙄
That's not bad. Is it legal to do 30 there, or is that just the threshold where they start enforcing it? We're technically limited to 15 mph in CA, but I've never seen that enforced. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide In Florida, the legal speed for electric scooters is 30 mph, and going over that can get you into trouble, but probably not lol
Man this thing looks specced out for only $1000 right now (GX1). The one true downside that I see that would otherwise make this a perfect purchase is the lack of turn signals.

Long time no see Paul... Sorry I've been absent from the market for a little while now. Great review and these will really shake things up in this segment of scooter class. Very interesting 🤘
Welcome back!
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide technically I've been working behind the scenes with a certain Chinese manufacturer. Helping with engineering some new designs and helping out with web development. Now I'm back stateside and will be helping a new marketing team here in the USA 🛴🤘
i am 320 in weight which is better gx1 or gx2
GX2! You can use code RIDERGUIDE100 for $100 off.
Code does not seem to work even for scooters not on sale right now.
We will take a look thank you
Kurin g3 pro is a reliable scooter?
We haven’t tested that one yet. I don’t think we’ll test it any time soon. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide thanks for the Reply. I follow your guides hehe
-Paul
Ok thank you for the response.
220 is the answer
Looking forward to your Segway P100s video!
I hope we get one some day. I’m very curious about that scooter! -Paul
i need a good scooter for work, i do 13k one way........ do you have any suggestions ?
13km one way? So about 8 miles. Almost any scooter should be able to handle that, especially if you have the ability to charge while at work. How fast do you want to go? -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide i want to go from 15-45km/h but i want that scooter to be a good one where i Can bring it to the train or bus
Is it possible to upgrade the batteries in GX1? The current range estimates are small
I would contact gotrax for that answer!
Can you do a Navee v40 video?
We will take a look!
Leaning more towards the GX1
Great value! Grab $100 off with code RIDERGUIDE100
Is the scooter made of metal or aluminum?
Please check the gotrax site to be sure!
Please review the segway P100S
I really want to. We haven’t been able to get our hands on one from Segway yet. -Paul
Nice scooters, but I'm waiting for the Dualtron Popular...
What do you like best about the Popular?
If they had a better water resistance rating I’d be sold, but it’s only IP54
That’s plenty for most!
Gotrax is a great value.
We totally agree!
Gotrax would not honer youre promo code on my Black Friday purchase of the gx1😕
They removed it during Black Friday because of their already discounted super deals! It should be working now
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide aww that would have been great if they could of added that in to my Black Friday sake 👍 they sent me an email saying they could not honer the promo .what has me worried is I live up stairs this scooter is suppose to be 76 pounds? My other scooter is only 45. Not sure if this is going to work ?
You upload it 2 time....?🤔
One was unboxing! Other is full review. -Vosk
I just bought the Gx1
Awesome! Enjoy your new ride.
The code doesn’t work 😢
It was prob deactivated for Black Friday!
I bought the GX2 scooter and the front motor stoped working in about 5 days Can any one help me?
Did you reach out to gotrax costumer service ?
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Yes i did Their Currently working on the issue right now.
I ordered the gx1 but both videos I’ve seen it has cheesy squeeky sounding breaks …. Didn’t hear that in videos on the gx2and3???? That has me worried 😒lotta money for cheap sounding squeeky breaks ! 🙄
We were testing the prototypes so hopefully your scooter will have no issues!
GX2 is a BEAST
Florida gang. We can do anything as long as we dont go over 30 mph lol
Looks like a budget Apollo Pro, not bad.
Solid value for sure!
Man this thing looks specced out for only $1000 right now (GX1). The one true downside that I see that would otherwise make this a perfect purchase is the lack of turn signals.
Do a gx3 review
Should be soon!
The Park feature is a bad idea. No buy for me. What were they thinking.
I’m hoping there is a way to turn it off and I just haven’t found it, but it’s not in the owners manual. -Paul
