I am still listening to Phoenix. Today, 17 July’19 I heard this song some 7 time while driving to my office at Cyber city, Gurgaon and back. This song will be heard eternally.... I ‘LL tell you what.... these guys should regroup, crowd source funds and release their old numbers once agin in better recording equipments with some new tracks and release it on net for free. The band changed its name to Phynyx when Lien Gangte was the vocalist and he sang the song at a higher pitch. Nevertheless, Sando Laishram was also one of the songwriters. It was recorded in Guwahati with very little equipments.
I was told, it was penned initially as a poem by Tiken the former bassist of Runaway Tracks.... the basic tune of the song n composition was done by members of Phoenix and Runaway Tracks ... Sando, Subodh, Somo, Tiken, Nutan are some of the members of Runaway Tracks and Phoenix who contributed in the initial days of making of this masterpiece.... the song was taken forward by tamo Len n team (Phynyx) with final touches on the lyrics and melody with amazing solos by tamo Vivek Sharma which added another level of beauty to the song and set the standard way high.... Gohou, Bobby, Ringo, Khup are also some of the great musicians who contributed equally in the makin of the final version... every note is perfect in this song and we can clearly see the level of talent n professionalism of each musician in the song be it guitars, drums, vocals, keys, bass ..... yes, this version of the song is the one frm Phynyx and it is the best ever made by an indian band.... It was recorded in "Friends Studio" Guwahati??? thts wat i heard if m not mistaken 😁

Brother jessy ralte was our favourite, Drixian Empire was the band those days who rebelled all love divy songs.whenever they played in Imphal we run for the tickets.Amazing set list sometimes dark and lovely.I always cry when I remember those days.

O my goodness!! Just came across now again with my all time fav song from Phynix earlier Phoenix. And I can't stop mentioning them wherever I go feel proud of them to say that they are from NE India Manipur. The RSJ days were the real days, had to wait for the next Vol month on month. There was another band called Dark Crusaders/Drixian Empire from Manipur's CCPur town. Both the bands were awesome but Phynix get way ahead with this Masterpiece Rock Ballad "WOMAN" ❤️👍🙏

Back when the Bond between Kuki and Meitei and as Manipuri Band by Default PHYNYX ruled the Music realm with Len Gangte, a Kuki frontman, A Naga Guitarist, Meitei Duo/treble not sure... It was a perfect mix never to be emulated... ❤❤❤

One of the best bands from Manipur. Lucky to have seen them play live 3 or 4 times in Tura, Meghalaya.
