I wonder if my Naga , Khasi ,Garo and Jaintia boys from Synod college ,Shillong in 2007-2010 are still alive with whom I used to enjoy listening to this song in hostel. I miss them and this song brings back the memories of those days .
Legendary Indian rock band. I like everything about Agni. Still gives me goosebumps when I listen to their song. Sadly they are more popular in NE not many in the rest of India are aware about this gem band of India.
In the early 90's, Agni gave concert in Mumbai at Rock around the clock or Raspberry (don't remember), where they played numbers like Road house blues, Lithium (Nirvana) etc. Myself with four of my friends were head banging and thoroughly enjoying the rock show while other guys were just standing and watching. We were located so close to the band that I was even offered mic for a while to sing bit of Lithium. The vocalist sang "I killed you" and passed the mic to me and I sang "I am not gonna crack". i was only guy to demand Agni to play The Beatles (I was as loud as James Hetfield). Well they did not fulfill my demand nevertheless the lead vocalist gave me the audio cassette of their album 'Wind dance with fire'' I think it was token of appreciation for being a true rocker. Album stayed with me for quite sometime and I enjoyed it especially this track: Kashmir. Thank you Agni. I don't expect you guys to remember all this as it happened about 3 decades earlier.
Crickey fellow rocker.... Your name sounds like you will hum only bollywood songs but who knew they had a rocking dad, a crazy grandfather and your ancestors might be chanting " Hai Ram" Whilst rocking to Led Zeppelin's songs non stop 😂😂😂. Keep rocking bro, your life event rocks.
I have been searching this song for a very long time without knowing the song title.. since I had heard this very song from Radio FM Shillong way back in the year 2006, 2007. I am Glad that, I revive the song after a decade. 😁✌️
Same here . I didn't know who they were nor the title of the song . Our neighbour listened to it every time he stayed home, he would turn up the volume and we enjoyed it from the hostel back in 2007 in Shillong . I remember him by the song itself . I misheard 'Kashmir' as 'Cashier' lol
I am from Nagaland. I started listening to Agni since highschool back in early 2000's.. i am still listening to it.. brings back old memories😭.. so many great rock bands have come up in India but none like Agni. They were world class.. still is..
My brother use to play this music back then I was not aware of this band and today my friend pull up this in yt and here is me commenting from his phone
Classic just classic...Agni ?.…with due respect to other Indian rock n metal bands ,Agni stands n beat the spirit of time(Indian music). love from Nagaland.
Used to search for the song that I absolutely loved at a live performance in Bengaluru during the cassette player days. Found it now !! Gosh what a blessing TH-cam is !!! Sounds as fab as it did back again, and more....
This is what real music is. Nice vocal, drum,bass,guitar... everything is so smoothly composed. Will remain as the best song of all time in Indian music.. thanks agni.
Haha ... not sure if bharat koko bell ross r still alive... but was my fav song ... rememebr pulling off bharats hair as sovenier in ramrao adik rock show... we follwed them as crazy... amongst few people who actually paid to buy the cassette wind dance with fire.. from rhythm house... never got hold of mrytunjay.. those were the days 🤟
I came to know this masterpiece through my late amazing guitarist who taught me guitar.....badly miss him, this song is about beauty and peace sadly when we look at the lyrics its preaching peace what an awesome band........
Somebody needs to remake this song as a progressive metal genre. This song has so much more space for elements like double kicks on the drums, background keyboards, bass on overdrive , dual guitar djent riffs , synched dual guitar solos, microphone effects. Somebody with a studio please come up something like that.
Maybe I was born to write down this song
Of lands known far and wide
And stories bygone
It's all about this place white mountains embrace
Cold winds moving by
Move down treetops with grace
Where the valleys out in green
they're crying out of the scene
bringing colours of true love
To the people beneath
Chorus
And when I think of all the times bygone
She's been just losing till the end of her life
Can you turn around - Give peace a chance
Give me back this land of mine
I said wake up through the night
Wake up to the morning light
Wake up realise
It's taken down from Paradise
Kashmir
SECOND VOCALS (NARRATION)
Located on the edge or the top of this nation
Like a drop of sunlight or is it Nature's creation
Where the rivers run cold in rhythmic recitation
It's the land of the ice, peace and meditation
Then would come the time
In the middle of the night
Man did turn to fight for the wrong or right
He would blow it down the ground
Paint it with red and make the innocent man the victim of lead
And a scream would then be heard across a thousand miles
It's the scream of mother of one
She's screaming out now for her child
Chorus
And when I think.........
