  • Man, this theme is one that I still remembered because it is dang catchy! Definitely up there as one of my favorites from this game. It's got the right amount of energy for an exciting trek, while not being overly energetic. The opening catches my attention with its strong percussion that'll also be ever present in the theme. Then there's the high notes gradually going higher and lower, like the motion of a wave. Perfect for the underwater stage! The long synth notes I think are what get the vast adventuring vibes from this theme. Don't forget about the subtle midi piano either!
The piano is more noticeable in the next part at 00:36. The calmer section which has some interesting stuff about it as well. While the percussion will probably have more of your attention, there's also echoing beeps that alternate between the left and right channels. Took me a while to notice them. When I hear them I imagine bubbles appearing left and right to match. It's quite nice. So yes, I really do enjoy the vibes of this ocean. Good thing, because this stage can be a pain at parts. What's up with pirates having such good music?
Pirate Man took me a while to learn how to fight. My first plan was to stay close to him, but that didn't really work out. Staying far away so that his mines travel longer worked out better. Also, while amusing to burst his bubble with Wave Burner while he's in the middle of spinning, it doesn't seem like a good idea to do it while he's in the middle of the stage. ...ohhhhhh, wave burner for the ocean boss...well, ain't that a bit ironic.

I would have reused this theme for Splash Woman in Mega Man 9.

this game is the embodiment of me and my bros sharing the few hours of GBA battery with potato light magnifier, during car trips from france to italy with my parents
Going all the way to king castle 1, farming Astroman infinite enemy spawning corridor to buy all Auto parts and only understanding what half of them did because our english was school tier, then reset game
anyway yea pirate man is best pirate in megaman series

I confess, I never really understood why people say the SNES version is better. I've always enjoyed the music on the GBA more. It just feels more bass heavy (no pun intended).

Bass sounds a bit funky and the envelope on the square is a bit soft
Did you recreate this with samples /sequence data?

I believe this is a rip that someone else did and put on TH-cam, as it sounds a bit different from what I ripped. But yeah, the bass of the ripped versions sound more flat while the normal one is rougher. Not sure how to describe the difference, but it's noticeable. Weird that it didn't occur to me to say in the titles that these uploads are rips.
