Climate Action Schools: Our Climate Action Champions

Each Climate Action School will designate a Climate Champion, a school representative who will serve as the site coordinator and global community representative. Climate Champions don’t have to be experts in climate sciences but just need to have enthusiasm and interest in leading a movement of change at the level of the school. We see our Climate Champions as-well-champions! We will set our Climate Champions up with everything they need-resources, school training materials, and membership in the Climate Champions network bringing all our champions from around the world together in one online space. There will also be opportunities for presenting, writing, training, mentoring, and global collaboration. As members of the Climate Action Schools program, the Climate Champion will receive guidance for climate action leadership with webinars from experts on connecting to local and national media, grant writing, and joining for research and international events. Climate Champions will be eligible to earn the Climate Education Specialist certification and will lead the school to earning the Climate Action Schools international designation.
