Was there an increment? It's hard to believe all these moves were played under 1 min. without an increment.

You don't have an idea on how chess has become a matter of memory and technique. All the moves until the endgame were done on book moves (transposition to the Alekhine defense) and based on a typical structure of the Alekhine middlegame. Manoeuvres and pawn breaks were typical in this game. Not only that, there was a lot of forcing and intuitive moves, which make it even easier. And the endgame was a dry one. Nothing too spectacular for people who have studied the game. Yes, i know it's still impressive. You need fantastic mind anyways but is a forced middlegame. Nothing out of the ordinary. Any GM with e4 in his repertoire could reproduce most of the moves also if not all in that game even with one minute on the clock

A loss due to premoving in a bullet game. if this is the most exciting part of the game - not very interesting.

Playing 1-minute games is akin to shouting to the world that chess is not really a mind game. I suggest tossing a coin instead.

The older I get, the shorter time controls I like. I don’t have the time to play a 7 day, 6 hours/game tournament anymore.
The quality of chess suffers, but if you see it as a game, it is more fun like that.

@@gg1275 -- That makes perfect sense. To be clear, I was referring to top level games.

But the reality is that the best players of fast chess are also the best players of classical chess. Which means it's not at all like a coin toss. This was a remarkable win by the 10-year old. There are several GMs who played multiple blitz and bullet games against Carlsen and Nakamura and were roundly defeated every single time. This kid has already defeated both of them (plus Nepo, Bacrot, etc). That's quite a feat.

Analyse of a bullet game without interest. Carlsen is so tired of chess ? A pity

My thoughts exactly. He doesn't want to win.

Those are boring games. Who makes the first inattentive mistake. That's why fischer random is more interesting.

Playing bullet chess woth only one minute is like throwing the dice and hoping the right number comes up , one must move onstantly on each move or risk losing on time , totally random nonsensical time control , too fast to even follow the game , skill is thrown out the window , not a fan .
