You and your husband are the greatest two people I have ever seen. Please do not change,I am trying to help my 22 year old granddaughter get started in the soap business. So far I have ordered everything except butters, oils and acid. I have watched all of your videos they have become part of me. I love and I pray every night for God to continue blessing your business and to help us start one.

I love that they add a free gift with every order and a funny note 😂 Last order I made, they added free yellow mica and a note that said 'When Chuck Norris sneeze, the Corona virus buys toilet paper'. They also have a reward system if you write reviews on products you purchased 👍
I love your videos and the fact you are Canadian. Often we see good ideas but can’t get the materials because many US companies don’t ship to Canada. Add in the exchange and sometimes custom and duty fees and things get very expensive. You’re very helpful.

Helpful, thorough, straightforward video as usual. Thank you! 2 questions: 1. Why does the soap batter burn but not the finished product does not. 2. Is it okay to mix lye water solution with metal stirrer? I thought I saw you use one in one of your videos. Thank you!!
You are incredible person, thank you for all the information you’re generously sharing, i have been searching for almost three years and i could not start making soaps yet because not everyone shares details like you do. until i came across your channel and here i am just received my soap ingredients and about to try and have fun. Thank you i hope you all success and continue growing, we always support you.
Hi Jerika, thanks for sharing this information. I found it very helpful. Im in a soap fb group that you're in also. I'm based in Australia. Do you have any vlogs about the techniques to make the pretty patterns? Tc
Plastic containers from the Dollar store are the best for the price to be honest but stainless steel is also good! As far as making the lye ahead, 14 days is the most I keep mine but anything after 2-3 days, you should use a strainer because you might have some solid bits in your lye. I make mine 24h ahead usually because I like to soap at room temp 😊
Idk if this is a rude question but i geniunly want to know. approximately how much do you make monthly off selling soap and bath bombs? Im looking into starting but dont want to risk not making enough income
Hi Jerika, Thank you so much for all the info, but for people that are really in a very tight budget I will recommend to shop around second hand stores as well. When I started my molds and my stick blender came from Goodwill , I have two different lenders now( just personal preference) but the one from Goodwill is still going strong, thank you for sharing, love your channel
This is an awesome tip! Since soap making equipment is largely everyday household stuff, there’s definitely a huge number of things you should be able to find at second had stores.
@@JerikaZimmerman honestly every time I want a new embed mold I check there first, call me cheap but is the same at a lower price and sometimes is new or almost new, my stick blender is Rival and works as a charm, thank you for everything you do , I know many people don’t share, I don’t have a TH-cam channel but try to help other anyway I can, stay safe
Thank you for this great video! I watched another video and this person said that you needed minimum $2,000 to start a soap business. Is this not correct?
You‘re such an inspiration! Thank you very much for sharing all of these information, that‘s very kind of you. Have an amazing day! Greetings from Germany 💞
Hi thank you for your videos and inspiration. I am so grateful I found you! Question on the oils since I am just setting up shop. Is coconut carrier oil acceptable? I think carrier oil is thinner, so checking this will work?
Great information for all... from hobbies to professional... great encouragement and instruction.... Love the braids.... my covid-hair is coming along....
Just wanted to add that thrift stores can be a treasure trove for finding some of these items very cheaply. Also when I started making lager batches, I used the Rubbermaid plastic dishpans instead of buckets as they weren't as deep and so you didn't have soap way up high on your stick blender. Plus they are square so it was easier to pour the soap out into the mold. As for those silicone molds, they are great. If you can't get your soap out, pop it into the freezer for a little while and it will pop right out. Loosen all four sides first then flip it over and give the bottom a push with your thumbs and it loosens right up and pops out. Also you can start by making a "supermarket soap." Use whatever oils you can find at the supermarket. They generally will have olive oil, coconut oil, lard, shortening and so forth and you might be able to find castor oil at the drug store. These places won't have the best prices mind you, but when you are just starting you don't need 50 lbs of coconut oil. LOL!!
I have enjoyed your video, awesome Soaper willing to share and teach others. Can you share where you bought your eye protection from? I need something large enough to cover over my glasses. Secondly, Recommended a face mask to keep me safe. Best, keep up the good work
Hi! I discovered your videos few weeks ago and love watching them, being amazed with all the wonderful things you guys are making. Thank you for opening up your home- creative studio for us, and sharing all those useful informations, tips, suggestions. I feel like I should start taking notes every time I watch your videos ( most definitely will). I'm writing you from Greece and would like to try making soap (and who knows maybe one day selling as well ) . I've been wanting this for some time now, but never really the courage to start it. Watching your videos thaught me so much, and gave me the confidence to want to try it even more, and I'm very excited about it. Congratulations for your 20k subscribers and good luck with your business!
Hey Jerika, I watched one or two of your videos on soap making... then pretty much watched them all lol. Thanks for the great information and high quality videos! I’m going to make my first batch of cp soap today and am very excited!
Helpful tip for anyone out there if you do 1 part ice to 1 part water for lye solution it cuts the steam and smell from lye a lot and bring the temp down fast to if you want to do more ice to water than that you might not even get any steam at all
Great video Amazing how much you share💗 I may have missed the video, in case I havent... I have a video request sort of off of this one. The basics are GREAT but, I would Love to see you do a video of knowing what you know now... @@JerikaZimmerman Hi Jerika! Love your videos so much; after watching your creations, I've just ordered a bunch of stuff to try out making CP soap for myself! Is there a particular way you recommend cutting soap if you don't have such a contraption?
Hi Jerika :) thank you for all the quality content, the inspiration and really all the information you share. I would love to give this a try as a COVID- Hobby. A question please: is HOME 3 Pure 100% Lye Crystals Cleaner, usually found in hardware stores, safe for cold processing soap making? THANKS again, I have subscribed and home to learn more from you!
Your resource links are immensely helpful but they have me wondering if you have separate equipment, like measuring cups, for soapmaking and another set for making bath bombs? Or do you use a single set for both? I only ask because you have some equipment listed twice. And, do you use the same KitchenAid mixer for both home and business or is your mixer devoted only to the business? I'm fairly certain I know the answers but don't want to assume. And I hope my question about the mixer isn't too personal.
My mixer is 100% for my business, as well as all tools I use that touch my products, they never touch my food lol. It’s just not good business practice! I highly recommend keeping your product making tools separate from your food making tools.
You can get those types of gloves at hair/barbering supply stores. You may need a licence to purchase them at some licence only supply stores. They are powder free and come in tons of sizes
I hear you can do it a day before. Never tried it myself, but some soapers master batch their lye to make their work more efficient. I should try this lol
Hi Jerika! I was wondering if you might be able to do a video at some point about insurance for soaping, especially here in Canada. I've seen some small businesses talk about having to cut soap out of their small business because of insurance issues.
Okay this might be a dump question but can anyone tell me how do you clean you soap equipment I wait a few days so it can turn into soap but if I don’t wipe down with a microfiber cleaning towel it will stay oily am I doing something wrong or Am I just dump
I would add that vinyl gloves are not a good option - I know they're cheap, especially right now, but every single time I've used them, the thumb rips out on me and my finger nail turns brown and gets super soft/ brittle and the underside burned for days. Either nitrile or latex reusable gloves (for dishwashing and cleaning). If I need lye now, I can get it 1 lb of it at Walmart for a $5, $7 at my local Kroger (I'm in Oregon). You won't find it with household cleaners, it's with plumbing/paint/and hardware. My first soaps were made with coconut oil, olive oil, canola and lard. I haven't changed much other than adding palm, Shea castor (pharmacy department at Walmart) and avocado - depending which soap of mine I'm making. But those are great starting points. I would say other than everything she listed here, do your research. It doesn't have to be months or years worth of it as some like to suggest - as soapers with lots of experience will tell you, they're still learning/experimenting and researching every day. That's why it's so rewarding, it feels like a skill that just keeps on giving with versatility. But so spend some time getting to know your ingredients, the process and what can happen if something is unexpected and where to go for troubleshooting. Oh, and don't buy up all the expensive tools and ingredients until you know you like doing it 😉
I made soap I initially spend $200 and I focused on buying some essential stuff but I was trying not to go to overboard on fragrances and stuff because if I didn’t like soap making you know wouldn’t want to have like 10 fragrances so yeah
