    I just tried this recipe and it turned out pretty great. I do think it was a bit hard to do but I managed to do it. The only thing I didn't really like was that the bread tasted too much like yeast, but I did resolve this problem with adding a little bit more flour. Thank you for the recipe, will definitely try again!

      Hi Peaches, I am thrilled to hear you were successful with this recipe. Great Job and reducing the yeast to your taste is just fine. :)

      I actually made some. They were really good. But the result was not perfect. When i steam the buns, some came out fluffy, and some the dough was too dense. Don't know why.

    Is it possible to switch the all purpose flour to wheat flour? If so, any adjustments that I would have to make, to make them soft and fluffy?

    • @RunAwayRice
      @RunAwayRice  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Sumit Makwana Wheat flour works but makes for a denser and heavier bread. It won't be as soft and fluffy as the all-purpose flour.

    Hi Trang. I live in the Uk and we do not have all purpose flour. We have something called Plain Flour. I am not sure if it is the same. Can you tell me what the protein grams is listed in your pack please ? I am quite scared because everytime I use it for steam bun, it fails and is very yellow and not fluffy at all.

    • @RunAwayRice
      @RunAwayRice  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kim Hoang Hi Kim, I believe it's the same. The all-purpose flour I use has 4 grams protein per 30 grams flour. Hope that helps.

    • @KD-pc7sp
      @KD-pc7sp 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Trang, thank you so much for replying. I am really grateful that you spent the time reading and replying to my question. I am really trying to understand these whole protein level as some of my research shows that the higher the protein level, the tougher the buns/or more like dense bread. The most common brand that we can get here is McDougalls Plain Flour. The protein info listed on the bag shows 10.4g per 100g . Do you know if it is equivalent to all purpose flour. All tutorials list all purpose flour and unfortunately we don't have like for like here :(. Thanks Trang xxx

    Can I add heavy cream, milk, or coconut milk to give the paste a creamier taste ?
    If yes, is it ok to use it as filling when baking bread in the oven ?

    • @RunAwayRice
      @RunAwayRice  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Niki Chen Using heavy cream, coconut milk is just fine for baking. Enjoy!

    Just tried making the recipe and the dough was very sticky and difficult to work with. The taro filling was pretty tasteless and the bread in general was quite bland. For anyone who has bland buns, brush some melted butter onto it and it fixes the issue! I think I will have to try a different recipe next time because this did not work.

    2 tbsp of unsalted butter = 28.35 grams :)
