I am really looking forward for a technology that will be able to follow at trail speed... Sure that it will be there in a near future. For the moment neither the DJI Neo nor the Hoverair X1 are able to cope with complex environment at normal riding speed.

Getting close, but still a ways to go. The "Lilly" drone from 10 years ago was supposed to do this.

Agree getting close but not there yet. I think hardware is impressive they just need a few more firmware / software updates

I've done quite a few tests with this quad copter & it's not going to give any avoidance support or follow faster than maybe 14kph.
It's good for slower open space follow or direction track and forget the singletrack that's got any kind of tree or bush intrusion.
Understand the limitation of the tool, use it within those and it's does a great job.

It’s not bad. Hope they will enable some more features from the mobile app so you don’t have to carry the whole kit w you

Do they provide any software to get rid of the propeller (mosquito) noise the drone seems to make while filming?
    That's pretty annoying.

Yes, you have to record using the DJI fly app on your phone to 100% eliminate the prop noise but the recording audio is not the best

It’s quite bad actually and won’t record anything else but your voice

Electronic shifters, drones No one needs these mountain biking. Enjoy nature and put the gizmos away.
    Pure and simple is best.

Well I guess to each their own. Whatever fuels the love of biking, outdoors, nature, keeping one happy, humble and respectful to fellow riders. Mechanical or geeky tech don't see how that is relevant? How did you like the drone footage?😉

Completely agree. At :23 we are asked "is this drone for MTBer's?" No thanks, I have even thrown my Garmin watch and 1030 into a drawer. Not used for 3 months now; not missed. I can't see how having a drone following will enhance your ride.

@@David-rb3tk Interesting discussion, thank you. I am the same with Strava, who cares really. But when it comes to memories, a toy like this can be useful, and that was my conclusion to the video BTW. Who "needs" this to have fun? Nobody. Do I need this to make my videos better when reviewing a new bike for instance? I believe it will. But I am often wrong so who knows

@@LoveMTB I get it. I love, and look forward to, your videos. I can see how this would be useful to you. I just enjoy being in the bush and cycling especially together. I hope you find a drone that works for you to help you continue be the best MBT YT channel. Thanks for your feedback!
