During a recent drive, I noticed a screeching sound when I had to brake suddenly. It turned out that my tyre pressure was too high, causing the tyres to lose grip. I'll discuss the ideal tyre pressure for the VW Virtus GT and provide some recommendations to keep your car performing at its best. Stay tuned for valuable tips and a personal story that highlights why tyre pressure matters!

    same was my case the car used to crash through even the the smallest of potholes/undulations and I reduced the tyre pressure after the 1 month checkup only just in case.
    and boy o boy the comfort was soo much better there was a big difference

    The company guys always have the pressure pumped up because the car from their perspective will be sitting either at their parking lot or the showroom floor for months on end for some cases so tyres typically loose some pressure over time. So if they have the tyre pressure set at the correct numbers by the time the car is ready to roll out of the showroom they might be under inflated so tpms warning might show up and for a customer that would be a bad experience to get a new car with tpms warning lighting up.
    So always a good idea to check the correct pressure as soon as you get your car and have it corrected.
    Loved to hear your experience on this topic.

      It's understandable to have those thoughts, but consider this perspective: delivering a car with incorrect tire pressure can lead to skidding, loss of traction, or imbalance. It's essential for companies to perform a thorough pre-delivery inspection (PDI) to ensure tire pressures are corrected before delivery. This step can significantly enhance safety and performance.

      @@TheDeepSinghaltechnically yes the showroom should have those correct at the time of delivery since its is a safety measure but then again we live in india and a lot can be overlooked and we as consumers need to take care of it.😂

    I might also consider the factor that this car has brake assist. Which has sensors detecting panic breaking situations and applies required brake pressure. That coupled with wrong tyre pressure might also add to losing traction

    • @TheDeepSinghal
      @TheDeepSinghal  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, well said. The combination of a BA system and incorrect tire pressure can indeed lead to a loss of traction. What concerns me the most is the tire squealing sound, which can undermine the driver's confidence in the car's traction. Apart from that noise, the car has maintained good road grip for the past month, even with higher tire pressure.
