1400Hp Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R || Ex-Drag Racer turned HillClimb Monster

- Racing in South Africa´s Knysna Speed Festival Hillclimb and claiming victories on the event on 2015, 2016 and a 2nd Place in 2017, this is Desmond Gutzeit´s take on the Iconic Nissan Skyline GTR R32. Starting its life as a Drag car, lots of power was always a requirement. A Highly modified RB28DETT pushing over 1000Hp took care of that but then a new goal came: Knysna Hillclimb´s record.
With various iterations of the model having increasing values of horsepower as it evolved along the years, we arrive at the last version as seen on the video, with over 1400Hp and sporting an Aerodynamic bodykit capable of holding its own among the Time Attack Crowd. And the rest...well...it needs to be seen and listened to.
This is a remake of one of our very first videos of the Channel, now with Onboard footage added as well as some important outside shots. This Monster did not compete on 2018 due to health issues wit Mr. Gutzeit, but it is well on its way to return on 2019, as powerful as ever. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

Good question. I think it should be billet since 'original' blocks have problem with handling high power. I mean there are forces that twist block thus making it crack. There is a video nicely explaing things: 'Which RB Block is Best? Mythbusted with Facts and Data!'
The stats says it a RB28 so it a build RB26 stock or the N1 block stroked to 2.8L with the reinforced bottom end and balanced crankshaft.
its pushing more like 1100hp and it was always a track car never a drag car its still running stock block with bracing he also has a Top secret r34 1000hp and all the rb 26 blocks are the same not one is stronger then the other. the only billet block in SA is a bmw m52 block made in SA its the fastest bmw in the world . . .fact it was also at Heltec world cup

The owner said the engine is a 2.9 built motor with a custom girdle to hold everything together. This was an interview when the car was still pushing 1200 hp. Redlines at 9700 rpm.

It already does time attack as well as drag. The driver owns his own race track. Whenever he hosts events at his track he will do exhibition runs for the crowd. Search on google for dezzi raceway in south africa.

pretty standard in gt race cars nowadays, BMW had it in the e92 gt2 for example and has it again in the M8 gte. I have never seen it going all the way to the back of the car though, usually they exit somewhere behind the front wheel.

At the start you can see a headlight is cutout, probably connecting to that and using it as a ram air. Considering the 4 inch exhaust that is running in the cab right next to him, some fresh air might be good

@@darkcrusher-jt1dr Any potential debris risk would already have to be at headlight height before the car got there, single car on a closed circuit, i don't see how that's possible without final destination levels of bad luck... Besides, the headlight out on the left hand side is the opening for the turbo inlet, common among drag racing turbo cars, the duct for the driver is likely below the windscreen and plumbed through where the old heater box and blower would go. I'm no expert though.
