@@PizzaTime727 status works after debuffs are removed, but be careful with skill selection. I would choose fire chem and burn sticky. Hunters can't steal those. Tanks with vanguard or tardigrade and opportunistic are super helpful
One important point is when match making, please remember to make sure if you have been made the leader as the match cannot start unless the leader presses go. So many matches where people are stuck at the main menu waiting.
Thank you for this video. I've watched a few videos on countdown and each time I was left more confused than when I had started. I actually avoid most division 2 youtube content because most other content creators deliver the info in the most convoluted and confusing way (it seems almost like they're more interested in stretching the video as long as they possibly can). This video however was clear, straight to the point, and explained countdown in a way that was really easy to follow. Hope you keep making division 2 content!

I find selecting gear category like mask, kneepads, gloves etc instead of brands like Fenris, Sokolov allows me to hit all the brands during a countdown run to level up expertise. That Expertise bar shifts up a whole lot after farming gear category instead of gear brands. If you do just brands and max out 1, you tend to collect that same maxxed out brand during future runs, not able to upgrade it any further which makes your expertise growth slower.

Thanks for putting together this invaluable tutorial. I was one of those hesitant players who never participated in the countdown. But after watching your video, I played the countdown nonstop and it is exactly as you described. Fun, fast and rewarding!
I've had that happen too. And even got a message from one jerk that I didn't belong in Countdown until I was level 1000 with decent gear. I wished him a wonderful day and blocked him 😄. Stick with it, that usually only happens once every 15 to 20 runs. Not everyone is like that. Even picked up a couple new friends to do other events with.
Great info, as usual! You had asked about actual DC weather vs what is in game. I have lived in the DC metro area for 40+ years. NEVER seen a dust storm. Spring and fall can be rather rainy, maybe not as much as in game. I would encourage all agents to visit DC, adds to the game experience when you have actually walked the ground.

Played Countdown non stop for weeks now and only yesterday realized I had 2000+ countdown points just sitting there, never knew what they were for. When the game is back out of maintenance going to buy a shit ton of named item caches. I hate the DZ so really want some named DZ stuff 😍

I ran solo for at least 2 dozen times. I wanted to get the lay of the land before I jumped in to a group. I like to know what I'm doing, and/or supposed to be doing. I didn't go for normal or hard when I joined a run, went straight to challenge. TBH I never had time to deploy a skill. It was awesome. Only thing I didn't do was extract my 1st run, I was having too much fun eliminating enemies.
Things I wish I knew when I started countdown: - look at your objectives and then your map to know your choices of where to go - follow your group always and eliminate all hunters first - ninja bike backpack is great for starting players because you can make a good damage and or armour build out of anything - use things like coyotes mask, tardigrade chest, perfect galvanize, hive to help out your allies. - when you reach extraction end area, stay in cover. You are a new player and they will likely kill you fast. Pick your spots and keep your distance; anything to stop from going down.

Love this game mode its so much more fun than summit. Its kinda funny watching 8 players steam roll a hunter to. The only thing I wish they would of done different is make each squad responsible for certain objectives. Would of made it more life like.
Why everything must be life like? This is a game. We play games to have fun. Fun should be the main objective of every game. Countdown is perfect the way it is. I just wish they would add Legendary white tusk and increase the loot quality. A Legendary Countdown with 30 min timer with Legendary loot quality would be awesome.

Your video encouraged me to play countdown, since then, I've got ton of exotics playing countdown. Most of them came from exotic caches itself, i got Vile, Coyote, Mantis, Ninjabike backpack, Memento, BTSU glove, Dread Edict, Little Bee, Tardigrade, Bluescreen, Waveform, and many more. While for exotic drops, i get Scorpio, St. Elmo, Capacitor, Bloody Knuckles, and Sacred Imperium. 😆😆😆 Countdown is truly the best way to farm exotics

I'm probably going to try this out. Once Year 5 begins. Hopefully I don't have to deal with being kicked from lobbies by clowns like someone else mentioned. I've still gotta try running the Raids as well. I haven't played The Division 2 in over four years... due to personal reasons. A girl who I used to run with, no longer upon us is why. I made a promise to her, that'd I'd finish what we started. So I started where I left off. On World tier 3, finished the strongholds. Defeated Aaron Keener, and have reached SHD Level 103 in about a month. Suffice to say, I fulfilled my promise. 😌
More loot drops if you stay together and less chance of being downed and having to respawn. One valuable tip, if you have a Vile/Eclipse status build, it is very good with foam as support for the dps players. The foam locks down ads and spreads when the dps players kill the ads. This build is extremely helpful in the extraction area. Great video, wish everyone would watch it before playing countdown. I enjoy your content, keep it up!
Great video. You not only told us step by step how to play but you showed us why. After this video I've been playing Countdown for almost 3 hours non stop. 2 questions. 1) Does the Donate all junk only work when your level is over 1000? 2) What do we do with all the loot that we're not using or don't plan on using (example-not a fan of the Marksman Rifles)? Very interesting gameplay, and countdown wasn't in the game last time I played. Finally got to sit down for a couple of hours today to play... got to level 5!! Long way to go, even though I do have a level 40 and level 30? character I can play.
One tip: skill builds are not very useful in Countdown. It's because the hunters are either shutting down your skills or hacking them and using them against you. I'm liking this mode except when a squad mate steps in front of me as I'm shooting the npc's. So frustrating. Thanks for the vid sarge
Hi I know this a out of no where comment but the targeted loot thing is not their for me and I have noticed that I am not getting a single teal/green set piece drop do I have to do something to unlock it I have done multiple countdown runs and only gotten highend I’m level 40 and have completed both campaigns so I just don’t understand why they are not dropping
I'm having a little bit of trouble I can't start countdown my self and also can't select what will drop in the mode I just returned a week a ago so I am a little lost.
Open your map and hover over the countdown mode. You’ll see all the prompts needed to choose your loot at well as start your own countdown. I’ll be making an updated video for tomorrow showing just that 👍

I have a question for you, I'm already 40 and I have countdown available but it is gray out and I cant select it, but if I go to matchmaking only there I'm able to make or join a countdown session. If I click on the icon it won't allow me to select it 🥺

Could you make a farm guide for the black loot boxes of countdown please. In this boxes are shd parts! No one have make a video about this box locations.
Having played Division 2 for couple of years solo, I’ve always wondered, in matches with a random group, like in Countdown, when a loot drops, is it available for each player to pick up or if one of the players picks it up, it is not available for the other players?
People are not as friendly as you said to new/returning players. I kept getting kicked out of matchmaking. Haven't had a chance to try the mission yet. Great video though.
Good video. A few other tips: 1. Hunters steal skills. No traps, drones, turrets or hives around them. They will use them against your team. Stick with chems and sticky bombs. 2. Don't pop extraction flare early. You will lose time to kill hunters and miss out on the best loot. 3. Black crates give SHD points. 3 black crates around each encounter and main mission area. They are always in the same locations. Memorize them. Only 1 crate per area has loot in each run. The others are open and empty. Open the closed one and call out the location if you are on coms. They each drop an SHD point and loot. Orange crate at main mission drops 3 SHD points.
You should still be able to change your loot anytime. When you’re in game hover over the countdown icon and push down on the directional pad which will give you the option of choosing. You can do that in the middle of a game of countdown as well.
The thing that always makes me not wanna play this mode is seeing people in the thousands SHD rank and I'm not even 300, makes me think twice about even bothering.
Best thing to do is start your own countdown group then call for back up. I think I show that in the video. That way you can’t get kicked. I’ll be making an updated version of this video soon.
I have a question about Countdown. If I set my "targeted loot" to say Hunters Fury .. do all the player see my loot preference or do they have their own targeted loot? and if I pick up all the loot am I taking everything so no other player can collect loot? I love countdown but I never want to be a "rude player" :)
I am a fairly new player (been playing for about a month now) and i dont understand why people use the auto shotty for a secondary with the Heartbreaker build? In my mind, since you get extra armor for every hit a high rpm smg like the vector. 45 seems to be the go to choice since you literally get more armor than you could ever possibly lose. What am i missing here? 🤔

First of all, you’re going to love this game. Secondly, do not worry about where to start. The best thing to do is follow the main missions until you get to level 40 and then you’re going to want to start to grind for good gear. Reach out anytime with questions my friend.

It's crazy how people still don't understand how to play countdown. Every match I join people run straight to the VIP and skip easy objectives to complete the main one. They should give instructions when the match starts.
Really now? I’ve been matched with multiple people who go for the countermeasures first, then again those same people have their SHD levels in the thousands.
They can drop… and for many people, they have great luck there. The fact that you can also buy exotic caches with countdown resources is an added bonus!!
Is it too late to matchmake for this? Just got back to Div2 after years away, and first 3 tries at matchmaking put me in one group that was griefed at the start by 2 3000+ SHD players (same clan), and then one by one every left, next two attempts- one person died and everyone disbanded.

Also note these builds are fine for all main encounters just don't use them at beginning or end when hunters are up.

Man ,Being kicked from countdown just because ur low SHD level is just pure toxic. Otherwise I'd run it all the time.

Countdown doesn't show at pentco for me, i have to go to the helicopter to be able to access it so im not able to pick the gear i want, anyone help?
I’ve been hearing that a lot. Not sure why it’s now showing up. Will address it in a video next week

I have a question for you, I'm already 40 and I have countdown available but it is gray out and I cant select it, but if I go to matchmaking only there I'm able to make or join a countdown session. If I click on the icon it won't allow me to select it 🥺

@@monsterblkttdaniel5147 nope, I still can't click the countdown mode, the only way to access is through the main menu where you matchmaker for the other modes.

Can you change the difficulty sometime is really easy and the stats are average roll i would like to play on heroic all the time?
Yes . Go to your map and look as the bottom left for all the prompts you need
Why does it not work for me when I hover over it it does not tell me anything just that it is countdown (if it helps I am level 17)

Having played Division 2 for couple of years solo, I’ve always wondered, in matches with a random group, like in Countdown, when a loot drops, is it available for each player to pick up or if one of the players picks it up, it is not available for the other players?
Everyone sees different things drop sometimes . It’s not the same for everyone

People are not as friendly as you said to new/returning players. I kept getting kicked out of matchmaking. Haven't had a chance to try the mission yet. Great video though.

Good video. A few other tips:
1. Hunters steal skills. No traps, drones, turrets or hives around them. They will use them against your team. Stick with chems and sticky bombs.
2. Don't pop extraction flare early. You will lose time to kill hunters and miss out on the best loot.
3. Black crates give SHD points. 3 black crates around each encounter and main mission area. They are always in the same locations. Memorize them. Only 1 crate per area has loot in each run. The others are open and empty. Open the closed one and call out the location if you are on coms. They each drop an SHD point and loot. Orange crate at main mission drops 3 SHD points.

Hi! I just came back to the game and i can do countdown but i noticed i cant change my targeted loot? Did they change something?
You should still be able to change your loot anytime. When you’re in game hover over the countdown icon and push down on the directional pad which will give you the option of choosing. You can do that in the middle of a game of countdown as well.

The thing that always makes me not wanna play this mode is seeing people in the thousands SHD rank and I'm not even 300, makes me think twice about even bothering.
Best thing to do is start your own countdown group then call for back up. I think I show that in the video. That way you can’t get kicked. I’ll be making an updated version of this video soon.
I have a question about Countdown. If I set my "targeted loot" to say Hunters Fury .. do all the player see my loot preference or do they have their own targeted loot? and if I pick up all the loot am I taking everything so no other player can collect loot? I love countdown but I never want to be a "rude player" :)

I am a fairly new player (been playing for about a month now) and i dont understand why people use the auto shotty for a secondary with the Heartbreaker build? In my mind, since you get extra armor for every hit a high rpm smg like the vector. 45 seems to be the go to choice since you literally get more armor than you could ever possibly lose. What am i missing here? 🤔

Each shotgun pellets count as a bullet hit.. The ACS-12 is by far the quickest way to get your heartbreaker stacks.

At the very least you still get to keep your shit after you die, but you won’t get the Countdown currency.

As a new player who just reached level 30 with no build would you recommend me playing countdown or wait until I have a full build? Any tips would help since I don't know what I'm doing half the time.
It all depends on how you like to play the game. I’ll be putting out a beginners summit build soon. Once they fix the game mode .

I like an aggresive play style but some mobs force me to take more cover because I get surrounded fast so I'll definitely keep an eye out for that. Your videos are great because you explain everything without unnecessary lingo.

You keep whatever loot you picked up. You still get countdown resources as well just a much smaller amount

Wow. I’m a new player been playing 3 days…lol. Got bored of outriders. Now I’m like literally lost in this game due to sooo many thing to do to gain XP or gear. Been playing outriders too long. We’ll one day at a time. Any advice from the DIV2 community much appreciated. Thanks.
First of all, you’re going to love this game. Secondly, do not worry about where to start. The best thing to do is follow the main missions until you get to level 40 and then you’re going to want to start to grind for good gear. Reach out anytime with questions my friend.

It's crazy how people still don't understand how to play countdown. Every match I join people run straight to the VIP and skip easy objectives to complete the main one. They should give instructions when the match starts.
Really now? I’ve been matched with multiple people who go for the countermeasures first, then again those same people have their SHD levels in the thousands.

They can drop… and for many people, they have great luck there. The fact that you can also buy exotic caches with countdown resources is an added bonus!!

To play countdown? Once you’re level 40 you’re good
New player here : why do you use a rifle damage and lmg damage yellow pieces with Assault rifle ?
It’s the talents on those items. 8% damage to armor and 8% to targets out of cover
Can you do all 3 subobjectives before doing the main objective? If so, do you get any extra loot from it

Is it too late to matchmake for this? Just got back to Div2 after years away, and first 3 tries at matchmaking put me in one group that was griefed at the start by 2 3000+ SHD players (same clan), and then one by one every left, next two attempts- one person died and everyone disbanded.
It’s not too late to matchmake at all. There have been some server issues here and there which is why people bail.
The Items which you want to Donate, where did i have to go for that or is that just for Extraction?
