*CORRECTION 1:* It has been pointed out to me that the Devs did indeed implement the Summit's Directive ruleset to the wider game later on. So yes, adding Directives to the open world and mission does provide slight boosts to Target Loot drop rates!
Pretty sure directives increasing drop chance for target loot came into the game for all game activities at the same time (not summit first) in TU11.1

I have a question. Let's say you have the Eagle Bearer, is it possible to get the EB in exotic cache from project & countdown/global vendor since it's in your loot pool already?
@@falconsilver Raid Exotics are exempt from that rule, so no the EB will only drop from the Dark Hours Raid or in the DZ, even if you already have one
i think you covered everything. good job. one other thing i recommend for farming exotics is to keep an eye on what is targeted at Lincoln memorial everyday because it has 4 boss drops. Some invaded missions have multiple boss drops as well. Like grand washington hotel this week has 3. Strongholds typically have 3 bosses too but take a lot more time to complete so i don't recommend those.

By far the most informative video on Division 2 I have seen. I had the same confusing experience with Division 1 and as I am entering Division 2 world (thanks Ubisoft for denying us to get the game on Steam on day 1) this late entry might be a blessing or a curse. Just hit tier 1 and it bugs the hell out of me to see people cutting through enemies like a hot knife through butter while I struggle with a full crew to do some missions and getting metric ton of useless gear.
I agree, I know I won't be buying their games on that other platform again. Hopefully they don't do this to the division 3 or I'll be waiting awhile lol.
And why can't we stealth kill enemies?

Thanks for this very helpful video! When I got the Ninja backpack from Season 11 reward track I re-crafted it once but then I did the unspeakable mistake of deleting it and now I have to wait till season is over. I run solo 99% of the time.
You don't have to wait for the Season to be over! Once you've acquired it via the Season track, it immediately enters your general pool. You can go farm targeted backpack content for a chance to get another one 👍

Not certain about directives only affecting targeted loot drop rates in Summit. On the Change Global Directive option it reads “Activating Directives will give you extra XP. Each active Directive slightly increases the chance for a targeted loot item to drop alongside a normal loot drop.” So I think this applies to open world/missions as well. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong.
Grrrr you're right. It seems like they added that after the first introduction of the whole Directive system. That annoys me so much 😄 thank you for pointing it out though, I'll update the pinned comment!
Just wanted to add note that the Named Weapons(note I said Weapons) in your DZ exclusive list at 3:15 is not exclusive to the DZ. There is a very slight small chance that Control Point bosses(CP3 or higher) can drop them. The chance is higher with Named Control Point Bosses(CP +4 or Heroic CP's as it were). Also open world Rogue Agents can drop them. I've had every one of those Weapons drop from CP+4 Bosses and/or open world Rogue Agents at one point or another.
You can also get them as floor rewards in summit and from named item caches

Happy Easter Rough, thanks for the video. Can you confirm, that if you are playing a second character you need to finish some the Exo-projects before getting them to the general lootpool? And please check your version of division: Your trageted-loot doesn’t show the “Exo”-Option 😉
From some quick searching, I think secondary characters can share the loot pool if you buy the "shared blueprints" thing from Inaya. I don't play any secondary characters, however, so I can't offer and firsthand experience there

Dude what a resource! I just got back into Div2 and finished the keener mission so I'm starting the gear grind now. My last 2 play sessions I've been looking at getting strikers pieces for a striker build. You think that's a decent place to start? I am just a solo casual on world tier hard right now. Would love to get gear to move up to challenging at some point though.

Great video as always. Although I do have to interject with. I've gotten 6 on your list that has dropped in the open world.
Low ass drop rate doesn't always mean DZ exclusive.
Named cache not included.
Over time they've added select exemptions, like DZ Exclusives dropping from Seasonal Targets, so there's likely a few ways you could've picked them up. But they're *supposed* to only drop in the DZ :)

Unless it has been changed, in my experience targeted loot in terms of countdown and summit let's you drop only certain parts of specific gearsets, some of the parts will still remain exclusive for the raid they were introduced in.
That was the case for a while, but they've changed that rule and now all pieces of Raid sets drop in the normal game
Yo! I know this one is a bit late but I brought a friend to your channel recently and he had some questions with this video. Made me wonder about something. As a full Div 2 veteran, I did notice that some of the faction locked loot boxes do have a bigger chance to drop exotics. Just wanted to see if you agree with me on this experience or not :v Cause I wonder if the different green cases around the missions as well as the locked ones get influenced by this same statistics.

I know that the Acostas Go-Bag's original drop source was faction crates. Same as how the Lady Death was NYC Open World bosses, Tardigrade chest was True Sons bosses, etc. So I believe Acostas has a higher chance to drop from those
Uh actually difficulty does affect drop rate, according to the devs and this is how they explained it. Higher difficulty = better quality but less frequent drops. Not sure if it's everywhere or just in places like summit, countdown and missions.
I don't believe that's the case, never experienced or heard anything of the sort. If you have any links or evidence to share on that though I'd be happy to see it!

Ive been farmimg summit & anywhere else I can get Marksman rifle from to try & get a decent white death drop for weeks & I havnt had a single one drop & i do 100 sumit floors every week atleast with targeted Marksman Rifles.
The only DZ exclusive items I'm missing are the Rock N'Roll, Ferocious Calm and Death Grips, everything else I've obtained it through a Named Item cache or the Countdown vendor. I literally never had to step into the DZ to get the exclusive items thankfully

After playing borderlands for years then coming over to d2 its very weird not having dedicated drops

Just a small comment on the 'randomness' of exotic drops, I do the Bank mission almost every day and 99 % of the time when an exotic drops , usually from the final boss, its Sawyers Kneepads .
Likewise with Lincoln Memorial its almost always Tardigrade. This seems to be irrespective of the targeted loot for that day. So if anyone is looking for those maybe those missions would be a good option. It would be interesting to know if other missions seem to have a higher chance of dropping a particular exotic. What do you think ? Great video as usual.
So, yes, certain Exotics do have "original" drop sources that exist in addition to their general loot pool slots. The Tardigrade from main mission True Sons bosses, for example, hence why you've gotten it from Lincoln. The Lady Death was famously first only available via NYC open world bosses. I contemplated including all of that in the video, but didn't want to make it too bloated for people trying to understand the systems 😄 good catch though!
Catharsis is not dropping if you havent received it first from the Seasonal rewards. It is the only item doing this.

I got the nemesis to drop from a bounty without fully completeing the quest.

Hey! Yes, the System Corruption gear set (as well as the Yaahl brand set) are exclusive to the DZ. They can pop up in the DZ vendor rotation and have a slim chance from Legacy Season caches, but DZ is your best bet. Someone else pointed those out and I definitely should have included them in the video, so apologies for that!
@RogueGold no need to apologise, its a set that's basically been forgotten about and only just made a comeback. I think they should have legacy caches drom from their respective season manhunt. So Jupiter was season 1 and she should drop season 1 legacy caches to give people a bit of a better chance farming for the loot they want. Just a thought. Anyway thanks for the info!

I love the first Division and got the 2nd and never really got hooked on to the 2nd like the first I recently re-download it the division two and thought maybe give it another try any suggestions on how I can get to understand the 2nd there is just so many different things to work on from the base and gear and specially weapons etc it’s a lot to try to grasp especially when you work 50 plus hours a week and don’t have much time to spend getting gear etc…. Jesus, been farming summit on challenging with 6 directives active for a memento backpack. Backpacks as targeted loot and I just can't seem to get it. Ready to pull my hair out or quit playing. What a pain in the ass since most builds rely on memento bsckpack.

Actually the effect is from the "Reanimated" Global Event 👍 the sniper is the White Death with Determined as the talent

Anyone know how it works with the warlords expansion and skipping to level 30. Do u have to do the quests to add th to the loot pool or are they already in the loot pool for u
Nothing loot-based should be affected by using the Level Skip. You'll still be able to do the quest-based Exotics, etc. 👍

The green cloud was from the Reanimated Global Event 👍 the gun was the White Death marksman

Countdown and Summit share the same General Loot Pool as the rest of the game

It's the Operator Shirt! You get it from doing 1 of the 3 DC Strongholds on Legendary. I forget which one specifically, but you can preview their rewards and it'll tell you which piece of the outfit you'll get 👍

Are there any good tips when it comes to grinding loot for early game? Right now I am only level 15 and I am just wondering what would be a good mission or something to do to get better loot faster. And I can not press a button to show targeted look, have not unlocked it yet as with my such low level
Is there a big reason you feel like you need to farm? I honestly can't think of what to recommend other than continuing to play missions or open world activities. All of that gear will be invalidated later on once you're a higher level, so I wouldn't worry about investing too much time there
@@RogueGold No big reason why I feel like I need to grind, just wanting to make sure I get good gear that is my level so I have enough armor and damage, so I am not stuck with gear that is a few levels lower, as I do like to have some sort of set gear, as I do like utility stuff, and making sure those are leveled right

Yep! It's out in the general loot pool. Best chances for it to drop is from targeted backpacks content.

Ceska isn't DZ exclusive, and can be targeted. You might be thinking of Yaahl, which is DZ exclusive. I should've mentioned that in the vid!

Alright someone point out the obv for me. The damage feed, how do i get it to be organized. When i shoot the numbers are in a burst fashion all over. Most videos i see the damage displays on the hud in a stack. How do I get this to show on my hud like that?

Great video. I try to do countdown but the matchmaking takes Ages! Sometimes i wait 15min and get only 2people in my team. Is this game dead or why is this…. The same is for matchmaking in general (missions etc) it just seems completely dead
What platform are you on and what difficulty are you trying to matchmake for? I never wait longer than 15-20 seconds for a Countdown group on Challenging, and maybe a minute tops for Heroic main missions.
@@RogueGold Im on PC and matchmaking for normal and hard, mostly on hard. It takes around 10 minutes... Sometimes faster ofc and sometimes on missions longer

I haven't been on today, but be sure to check NYC. If you don't see it, I think we're at the point where the number of total target loot options is more than the total number of places for them to spawn, so a few things might be left out each day

The Eagle Bearer is only available via the Dark Hours raid and the Dark Zone, I'm afraid

@Name Surname To be fully honest with you, deep knowledge and insight into the numbers and math of this game is not my strong suit. It's something I've been trying to get a better grasp of in the past few months, actually. If I get to a place where I feel more confident in my understanding of it all, I can definitely do a video on that. In the meantime though there are people here on YT who focus a lot more on the numbers side of stuff, and have great videos out there about it!

@@RogueGold i mosly play with my primary weapon. But the Stats on my secondary does they count? like the 130 % headshot dmg on the white death. Or the 5 % accuarcy from the mods on the gun.
@carlbachmann451 Gotcha, no they do not count. Stats that are applied to each weapon are only active while you are using that specific weapon

It's in the General Loot Pool, so your best chances for it to drop will be playing targeted Backpack content. It's a rare drop chance, so keep at it! Good luck!

I think it would pair quite well with the Headhunter/Hotshot builds people have been running with Determined!

@John L. Correct. What I'm saying is that Perfect First Blood isn't too dissimilar from Determined, so swapping our a gun with Determined for the Pinprick, and using a similar Headhunter/Hotshot build, would likely be quite good 👍

Showcase the Pinprick. Might get more people in the DZ if you do it! I'll say it is a one shot kill in Conflict.
Funny i use this rifle in my build for few years. As my secundary is Regulus i wanted something like Mantis.
Pinprick is a good sniper rifle...with the new Hotshot set evan better.
I always wonder if other players know about this weapon...as i never meet another player with it in his build...

Yes. When you get to 40 and complete the warlords dlc you will get alot of new stuff to dive into.
Yes, Seasons are exclusively Level 40 content

Playing groups, increase the amount of drops.
All this is very true. However, from my experience (and my SHD is 6600), I've noticed that exotics tend to drop a bit more on challenging difficulty in countdown as opposed to heroic difficulty, providing that your targeted loot is an item (mask, holster, etc.) and not a brand.
Does Incursion counts as raid?
So can a make, who has looted the Ourobourus drop me one? Does it drop in target loot areas after he found it?

Incursions and Raids are two separate activity types. The Ouroboros, similar to Raid exclusive Exotics, cannot be farmed outside of the Incursion, even if someone has already acquired it. It will only drop from the Incursion

Does the Regulus goes into the my General Loot Pool because I have it already?
The Regulus is the one exception to that Project category, it functions like a Raid drop where it stays exclusive to Iron Horse, I believe once you have it it has like a 1% chance to drop from the bosses in there
@@RogueGold i wasn't sure, if it was even on the Raid loot pool. I always thought that we could only get it from the project, and if we wanted another, we would have to do the project in a diferent character.

@@RogueGold yes... i can confirm that i got it multiple times from raid bosses after i got one at the end of the project. Now all my 4 chars have a Regulus one shot build...if the need in mission arise i switch to this build and than boom boom exploding heads everywhere... This revolver is my favorite weapon in this game. Dirty Harry style never gets old...
The biggest problem I have with the system is that it's too polluted with garbage, for instance I've been trying to replace my 13% protection from elites when update 16.0 stripped it out of my toon, I'll get 9%, 11% and 12% to drop on Heroic with 4 directives, IMO the 9% and 11% have no business even being in the Heroic loot pool, so not only is the 13% competing with the other 97,000 blues it's competing with the reds and yellows and all there million levels, when you advance in world tiers the loot pool should advance with you and not drag along the garbage from previous tiers.
Lastly no way purple gear should be dropping in Heroic and Legendary.
It's a looter shooter, all loot based games will have drop pools filled with garbage / filler items
@@TheRama2299 I understand that, there is plenty of garbage in the Heroic/Legendary tiers as it is, it shouldn't be bringing garbage from previous tiers, that is what makes the loot pool overly convoluted.

Being 33shd and expecting to have the same power level like a 9k SHD player it's having unrealistic expectations which can only be realistic in time and after time consuming by acknowledge how the game properly work and learning his complex mechanics. The nr.of newbies running lately in heroics with 4-5 directives ON and basically being oblivious how the game works and how the Npc"s scaling work on scaled content it's scary lately. The other day I did Capital building with some randoms in heroics and they had 4 directives ON with 2 if them being under 50 shd ....I gad to revive 14 times and basically carrying the hole mission by myself with 168 kills (basically I killed almost all the Npc's my myself). Whoever says SHD doesn't represen/mean nothing it's a fool and only will be true when those SHD points where made by exploiting rats. I know all this was a little off topic but all this farms tips videos are meaning very few if you don't have knowledge about how stuff truly work in this game. Only respect Gold and this was just my opinion and insight of what this game it's truly about and how few times i consider content creators talk about. You are between fews left who has my respect when It comes about this game, majority are just a bunch of trolls and false watched"creators".✌️

It's not farmable, unfortunately. The weapon was exclusive to pre-ordering Warlords of New York, and as of now there is no other acquisition method. The Tsunami named SASG has the same talent though 👍
As a general rule I prefer to avoid Heroic. Yes it does give the best chances of getting items with high rolls however the time to kill on enemies is such a drastic leap over challenging that it's not worth it unless you're shooting for an exotic and even then you could still argue it's better to have more drops over time.
* Also some people like to milk the end of countdown by delaying the extraction to constantly farm the Black Tusk reinforcements but IMO this is a stupid practice that really needs to stop.
The Hunters at the end (as well as the chest for winning the main objective) are what will net you the best loot, plus while I can't confirm this I'm relatively certain the sooner you extract the more tags you get for buying caches.
And even if that's not true you're still delaying your next run. It's much more efficient to just wipe the Hunters ASAP and then GTFO.
You miss the part that delaying the extraction and killing those enemies has a chance to drop an exotic. I guess you're one of those annoying players that shoots the flare as soon as you get to the extraction. What is your IGN so i can avoid you. Fyi, extracting sooner doesn't earn you more tags/credits, killing all the hunters does.
@@ckeymille Yeah but it's like. 0.01% chance for any enemy to drop an exotic, vs just doing another run and getting more tags to buy chaches.

Countdown is king when it comes to farming I have exery exotic in the game besides the 2 raid exotics from iron horse and I've only been playing 10 days memento was my first exotic and since then I've gotten a out 10 more out of countdown caches. Only weapon I didn't get from countdown is my eagle bearer

The items are better, however the difficulty spike between Challenging and Heroic is pretty steep, and it can mean that matchmade teams have lower success rates, equaling the potential for less total efficiency and items over time. If you have a pre-made team for it though, Heroic can be very viable!
I typically swing for heroic and here's the reason why: Those lower rolls just don't interest me and I end up throwing away a lot more junk. Even if you lose the heroic countdown, you still keep all the loot you're getting as you go, so I don't see it as a super negative thing. Now, if you're farming caches as opposed to the targeted loot, the success rate is the most important factor. I usually build my own heroic countdowns (matchmade, but I make sure the team doesn't look too bad by checking everyone before we go in). You can swap people between the two 4-man groups to make both parties more successful. As with anything matchmade though, you are at the mercy of the people who join, so you could have 10 amazing runs one day, then the next not win any due to bad team comps and player skill.
